A busy morning in my quiet little life.

Fired up my old hooptie this morning and noticed that I’m averaging 80 miles per month.

Stopped at Staples to print the authorization forms for my accountant to e-file my income tax.

Staples is definitely an improvement over fussing and fighting with my old HP printer, dried up cartridges, paper jams, etc…

On to Aldi’s for a few things and the USPS to buy stamps and mail my accountant his fee.

Final stop was Wegman’s for another sack of groceries.

Shortly after I got home the main alarm for the apartment complex sounded, within minutes there were six fire trucks. After a few minutes the Chief gave us the all clear.

It’s interesting that you can go for weeks here without seeing another human being and when there is a fire alarm it’s like a block party.

I’m relieved to have my taxes finished, all that’s left is to write the checks and pop them in the mail when my file arrives.

I forgot completely it was Valentines day...no valentines for me from anyone... 😔...altho' when I got home a little while ago there was a message from a guy who lives in the next town who is on the local whatsApp group.. asking if I fancied going out for a drink sometime.....not really my cup of tea this guy, but well you never know I might... we'll see.....he's recently widowed and just looking to get out after 2 years mourning
I think you should go. You're not making a lifetime commitment. Listen to your big sister, Pepper. Go. You are an attractive, funny & smart woman. Get the hell out of the house, you have nothing to lose!!!!!!!!!!!

MORNING FOLKS, it is gray and 36F out there, most snow melted, don't think I will get new snow today....slept late yay,
woke up with gouty right foot for some reason, so will have
to baby it for couple days.....no plans for the day anyway, cept
maybe a load of laundry....catch you later!! 😘 :coffee::giggle:
I saw your weather forecast. In the next few days you are going to get hit, and HARD!!!!

I'm near the edge of all that nasty stuff.....please keep it up by you! 🙃

Good Saturday morning, SF Peeps! A beautiful, sunny day here. TGS is coming over for the day, and we'll give a sleepover another shot. With luck, he'll make it all the way through the night as he has since he was just a few months old.

Some here may recall my mentioning that the last couple of times he slept over, he wound up going home in the middle of the night. We didn't push the issue with him. No shaming or pressure. (Honey, if you want to go home, we'll take you there right now.)

Life is confusing enough for 3 year olds, and this tyke is more a creature of habit than most. His stress started when he transitioned from the porta-crib to a mattress on the floor. We'll offer to set it back up for him to see where that goes.

Whether he stays or not, we're looking forward to a good day with him. He loves being here and we love having him.

Anyway got the stools dropped off at the recycle shop it's still a beautful if cold day... then because I thought my battery might be dying, I drove to Costco, which is a 30 mile round trip.. just to pump some life into the battery...I got a few things in Costco.. mainly paper goods like kitchen paper etc... but I also got a pack of Creme Brulee.. 6 in the pack for just under £6.00.. use by date 13th march...

I'm not sure I'll be able to eat them all by then....I was a bit peeved because nearly £8 VAT ( value added tax) was added to my bill for just 4 items ..thats HUGE... here in the U K food is not taxed.. so some disposable gloves , kitchen paper, Washing up rubber gloves and 1 other item had £8 added in Vat ...I'm very annoyed about that... it really makes it less money saving going to Costco when that happens...

The great thing today in Costco tho', one of the food sample people was giving out Sirloin steak to try.. and he'd just cooked a whole steak, so it was hot, and he gave me quite a big piece...delicious...but I do prefer Rump... ..and then as I walked around.... because it's Valentines the samples were almost all dark chocolate...yummmmy.....:p

I asked in Costco if they would fit a battery for me if I bought it there, they said no... but it's only £53 for a battery , cheaper than most other places , so I'm going to call the AA of whom I'm a member and ask if they might do it...I could take it to a garage but it will cost double.

I was driving back on the very busy friday afternoon motorway, and it just dawned on me.. I've only had 45 minutes sleep in the last 32 hours....(truth )... if I'd thought of that before I went out, I wouldn't have risked driving.. fortunately I didn't feel at all tired, still don't....it's now 4pm....still sunny.. it'll be dark in about an hour!
I think you should go out with the guy....just relax and enjoy the day and the company!

A relaxed easy day today after last week's holiday. We came home from Lisbon on Thursday arriving home late evening. Yesterday we went on a Valentine's steam train diner on the East Lancs Railway which was excellent. So today I took Mum out for lunch and did very little else other than start on editing a couple of thousand photographs. Starting to stiffen up now after a week of walking up and down Portugese hills!

I've had a very productive morning.

First, I took Goober for a walk. We both enjoy those outings in the woods!

After breakfast, I got to work....
All of the wood has been cut from the dead tree, and stacked in the barn to be used next week. That's when we will be getting our extreme weather. We finished up and came in just as the rain started.

And now it's tea time!

Snow in the mountains, flowers in the garden, and hawks are back for the breeding season. All pictures were taken this morning.

@AnnieA From last year April to last month, we had no rain. During the last few weeks, I have measured 1.9" rain. We are stuck in a mega drought. The vegetation on the pictures is grey. Normally it would be green by this time of the year. The normal rain season (roughly end of November to early May) brings us about 12 inches of rain.

Yeah..I know...my DD said the same..but...he's put me more off him now.. because he's text me 4 times today ..almost begging for me to go..... *ugh* I hate that.... call me weird, but that gives me the heebies..

My single friend (in Scotland) has tea with her single upstairs neighbor, about once a week. Just friends/neighbors/company....nothing more.
Before I married my husband 90 % of my friends were male... I lost that during the time I was married.. and since of course those guys have all got involved with women one way or another and their lives have moved on..so I'm not a stranger in any way to platonic realtionships with males...

I dunno this guy he's just giving me the wrong signals.. I think if he lived further away, I might not feel so concerned about going for the one drink, I could disapear if I wanted to....but he lives very close.. and I've never even met him yet, never even had a conversation with him, and he's already pestering me...

Trust what your instincts are telling you. Texting that much is weird. Be safe.

I made the dessert stuff. I think it's gonna be waaay to sweet, but what do I know?

Yesterday DS called asking for a copy a photo of my dad on a boat in the middle of Lake Superior holding up a huge rainbow trout that he'd just caught. That picture is famous in our family. The fish was even taken to the taxidermist and mounted.

Lemme tell ya! I've turned this place upside down looking for the photo. I have a big box where all the pictures are kept. All the pictures except that one. It's driving me right around the bend...and I've even gone so far as to take the backs off framed pictures to see if maybe I'd put it behind something. Nope.

I did find some of my favorite snapshots of the kids when they were little, though, and probably after I become a crispy critter, DD will come across the picture of my dad and the fish.

@hollydolly I agree with Debra Mae. Don't go. If you've already declined with polite thanks once, don't respond to the other texts. That's altogether creepy.
