If only our summers were like this....it would be just perfect.....

Hoping to go out today, but I have a couple of issues, so we'll see... fingers crossed....

Another sunny morning. We have decided to go for a walk and have a browse around a local market and probably stop for coffee. The weather forecasts some rain for the early part of next week so, if that's the case, I will start putting away the winter jumpers and boots. I am planning to have a merciless cull of my boots, mainly because I can't remember wearing some of them at all this winter or the winter before so, probably time to say goodbye :)

Have a good Sunday everyone (y)

@squatting dog So glad to hear that Mrs. SQ is better and home again.

When an entire day goes by and there are probably only three or four sentences spoken... If not for DS calling, I wouldn't have talked to anybody all day long. >le sigh<

I guess I've already said I flunked monkey grass again. >le heavy sigh< I need more flower seeds, but DD was busy wielding the power washer to clean the walkways and long double driveway so I didn't want to ask. I wish I could just get in the @#$%&! car and go get them myself.

Supper was cottage pie that I was "invited" to make. Guess who didn't make Dessert for Dinner? Old people get tired, and making dinner was enough for one day. Tomorrow I've been "invited" to make meatball soup for dinner. That's fine...it's supposed to be a cold and dreary day. After tomorrow, though, I'm noping myself outta the kitchen for the rest of the week.

And tomorrow I'm gonna have conversations with Maggiecat.
I think one reason our voices get weaker as we age. We don't use them as much.

BTW, DH schooled me on the Sun Joe yesterday. It starts to cut off and on when it starts running out of battery. I want to finish but he said you should charge it the first time it cuts off or you'll ruin the lithium battery. He ruins all my fun but it usually right about that stuff. 😉

Yesterday had nice visit from son/grandson, that makes 3 Saturdays in a row! My cup runneth over. Son so good to me; did shopping for me, cut cats' nails-- 🐈‍⬛ Gidget gave a finger a good raking Friday, finger all bandaged, blood gushing, ugh. She didn't mean it, she was falling off my lap and frantically held on. My skin very delicate, am on blood thinners, thus the great injury.

Anyway, so windy yesterday I was so cold all day, could not warm up, except for my ❤️ because of their visit. We went to my local park again, they played soccer, grandson loves my park, so glad. I swear, I love them so much my heart swells just typing this.

I'm grateful.

I have got to get out and condition the leather in my car. Cannot put it off any longer. It also needs a good hand wash. Today will be a good day to do the interior.
As you cross off a "to do" list, two more things appear. Mine includes a mental "to do" list of things I think DH should do. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. I wish I was as laid back about it but I'm a doer. I get things done. I don't like messy and I don't like sitting around. You can't change either one of us.

On my early morning walk at 7:20, temp was 30 as I walked around the building 1 time before breakfast
My plans today,Marcia will be picking me & neighbor,Bill up at 10am go to our church service which starts at 10:30,rest of the day read local paper, hope to take another walk.
I won;t be able to chat with my brother, since he& his wife, their best friends are in New Zealand until March 24th

When I was in elementary school, our music classes would be divided into groups of birds...sparrows, robins, bluebirds and such. I was always a blackbird or a bluejay. A one-octave voice. Couldn't sing any better than I could do anything else. Like in phys ed...couldn't do splits or cartwheels and usually chosen last for ball teams (when ball came toward me, my reaction was to duck!). It's a good thing I could spell and knew stuff like when and where the Magna Carta was signed...

It's supposed to be cold and dreary today, but right now it's sunny and 53F. If we're not being lied to again, it's gonna cloud up and the temp won't get much higher with no change tomorrow. By Tuesday, we're back into sunshine and 70s. It's yo-yo weather season.

DD is probably stiff and sore this morning after her adventures wrestling around with the power washer yesterday, but I'm gonna beg to get flower seeds anyway. I hope no bedding plants jump into my hands while I'm in the garden center because payday is still a week and a half away.

@hearlady When I'm through using Mr. SunJoe, I plug him in to recharge so that I start out with a full charge the next time, and he doesn't crap out on me while I'm using him.

Time change. It'll be a week before I'm adjusted. Yanno that clock that's still running with dead batteries? I'm thinking about leaving it alone, afraid that messing around with it will make it stop.

ETA: All that first paragraph to say that nope! I won't be singing around the house when I'm alone :ROFLMAO:

such a gorgeous day, I'm outside as much as possible. Ate lunch under the poplar tree... took a walk... all the windows open to the breeze. Bradford pear trees are all out in their fluffy white finery and I see dogwoods budding. Maybe there'll be things worthy of photos soon.

Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy/raw; good soup/tea/movie weather.

My daughter (lives in N GA) sent me a pic of her laundry on the line, pretty much flapping perpendicular to the ground. She quipped, "It's a 3 clothes pin day." =)

At least next week I only have to work one day (the three-days-a-week stint is officially over). So glad, I was tired.

Finishing up our two library books for book club Thursday... the one ("Marsh Queen") I really enjoyed. The other, (I think it was "Civil War Widows"-- shows how much of an impression it made on me, haha) I couldn't get into. Jumping between multiple points of view and each person had a lot going on...

Y'all have a lovely rest-of-the-weekend!
Cinna, you mentioned your Bradford pear tree. I have heard they smell bad and 3 states have outlawed them as being 'invasive'.

I think they're so pretty in their delicate white. Have you ever noticed an odor? Just curious; you're the only one I know who has one. TY

Great news. Wife is home and seems fine. New medication seems to be able to control her heart issue.
Another thing that showed up after testing was a doctor wondered if she had been in any accidents recently, or if she had suffered some kind of whiplash in the past. We chuckled about that because, as we explained to him, that for over 30 some odd years, she has driven race cars and been involved in several mishaps, where whiplash could have occurred.
While we thought it humorous, he explained that she has suffered nerve damage which in turn can cause a restriction in her chest and actually cut off blood to her heart. So now we have to try to control her outdoor activities a bit.
Again, I'd like to thank all that gave her their prayers.
SD, good to know your wife's issue is controllable and she's home. You must be so relieved. Thanks for the update. :)

It was a gloomy day with whipping ice cold rain yesterday! Blue skies and sunshine. SO should have a good time! He will stop at Sams's for me. There seems to be quite a difference in merchandise and quality based on location and the on on his way home is great plus has its own turnpike exit/entrance.

Tile guy stood me up yesterday. His wife will have him here Tuesday.

A clean house and two shirts to iron. What is wrong with this picture? Almost garden time!!! Time for those aches and pains, hopes and dreads. Fence needs some attention. Bird houses have been repaired and are attracting tenants.

SO went through his closet yesterday and the first two big boxes went to a VA closet. Washed and ironed. He is all set for work and play but a couple of Western shirts. Why is it that when he makes his mind up that specific style and color is out of stock everywhere:>) First World problem!

Pot of coffee and a sticky sweet donut. What can be better on a Sunday morning?

In our state, if you'll take your Bradford Pears down, the state (?) will give you appropriate replacement sap!ings.
@CinnamonSugar , that's your state too.

Morning gang!! I'm late!! I always feel "late" when these damn
time changes take place...it is 925, but really its 827, so that messes with my brain, such as it is!!! It is 30 deg F supposed
to get to near 70deg, no rain today...as usual no big plans for
me today....GGranny I swear you need plantaholics anonymous!!! Just kidding....love you all.....:LOL::coffee:

No, @RadishRose, I’ve never noticed a bad smell. As to being invasive, they r very popular for landscaping around here; I’ve not heard that as a problem

With their enthusiasm for singing and wide repertoire, Mocking Birds must be the most popular birds on earth.
Sometimes I am sitting down and just listen. Their singing makes me smile and feel happy. Sometimes they get
so carried away that they jump up 2 - 3 feet into the air. Yes, they also harass hawks and pick the tail end of cats.

Visiting one of our two local nurseries to select some flower pots for my wife's garden.

It's just after 6pm..starting to get dark... I've been out all day to a Historical house an hour away from where I live ( 2 hour round trip).

I've been there before several times but this is the first time alone... It was such a beautiful day, I couldn't resist....so if you're a Downton Abbey fan.. keep an eye out for the pictures of the inside of the house when I post them in the photography section..I'll tell you when..

I go home about 5.30pm had only just got changed and had a cuppa tea.. and next door who have got some friends here for the weekend, and BBQ'ing... came around with this enormous platter of food, even the bread roll was freshly baked and still hot...

There's 2 cakes on the platter as well...

Just got extremely hungry........

Went to the garden center. DD took a cart. Wut wo. Some plants did leap right off the shelves and into the cart, and I got a lot of flower seeds...more zinnias, more cosmos and some dwarf Shasta daisies.

It's way too cold and nasty outside to plant today and expecting more of the same tomorrow, so they'll all get taken care of on Tuesday.

Meatball soup is simmering on the stove as we speak.

@hollydolly I want to live next door to your neighbors!😋

ETA: And I got a fraud alert that my debit card wanted to collect $35 from my acccount from heaven-knows-who. Nope! Now I have to go to the credit union tomorrow to get a new card. What a darned nuisance:mad:

@Georgiagranny ...bluddy scammers ...thank goodness they diidn't get anything... but what a PITA

Yes you could live in my spare room Gigi..I think they've adopted me as their In loco Parentis..being as both of their parents are in Romania... so they might want a a Georgia Grandma too...lol

of course I can't eat that vast amount of food so I had a chicken drumstick.. 1/2 a sausage, and the bread roll.. and put the rest in the fridge for tomorrow..

My legs are feeling it today the 4th day in the row driving.. and today was a bit of a trial because it was all through farmland and country lanes, and they're so narrow you have to keep wits about you to avoid colliding with oncoming traffic around a blind bend, bearing in mind my car is a manul 9 stick shift) .. . It's a beautiful way to travel but you do have to keep your eyes on the road at all times..

I was surpised when I got to the Stately home just how many pople were already there.. it had only been open 2 hours... this was the car park.. and this doesn't include the disabled car park next to the house, which was packed as well
