Nothing new to report here......rain, rain, and more rain!

Normally, in my area, April has an average rainfall of 5.1 inches. This April, we have had 15.1 inches of rain!!!!!

This month is starting out a lot like last month. It's been sunny...then rainy...then sunny...then rainy with hail...then sunny...then rainy....(so on and so on). All together, we have gotten almost an inch and a half of rain, and the next storm is almost here!

Off south to the project house today. Planted two trees that need water weekly…and so now that is a thing. Last time I was there I ran out of paint in a very awkward spot…so hopefully I can blend the new with the old. I always laugh at @hollydolly because I hired a guy to rewire and do sheetrock about 6 months ago….he is STILL not done. But he is the only guy I currently know down there…wish WE would get some rain

I dunno. What?

Good morning, y'all. It's gonna be a nice day and probably the last of the 80-degree temps for a week or two. I'm hoping DD is willing to cruise the garden centers for a few plants that I'd like for filling in some bare-ish spots. If not, I'll probably just sit around on my dead center.
Fajitas and Lowes and maybe Sam's Club.
Ugh. I meant to buy egg whites but I got Egg beaters which is egg white substitute. I didn't read! 😒

another amazing accomplishment- I woke up alive :p- seriously its a big deal. Anywho, hoping to get downstairs bed and bath gussied up for guest coming next Fri-Sunday. Hope to vac, mop a bit, and not hurt too bad. Love me new chair, seems I just sit in it so much better. The lumbar in the back that moves is wonderful .Sunny and snappy looking day

Called pharmacy yesterday to refill a prescription. Robot voice claimed "it is already in the work queue."

So today I go to pick it up, along with a new prescription from the Doc last Monday. New one: "dated for the 12th" so not available yet. The refill: "not ready yet, do you want to sit and wait or come back?"

The new prescription isn't their fault, but the refill suggests they are getting overworked to me. They weren't like this when I switched over to them last year, but I suppose other orphaned Rite-Aid customers finally got fed up with Walgreen's. Even the staff at the Doc's on Monday mentioned them by name as a pain to deal with: nearly impossible to get on the phone.

Walgreen's: Ack! Ptui!

Went to the garden centers and found speedwell and white guara, both of which I've been looking for. Yay. The speedwell have been planted, but the guara has to wait because it's hotter than Hades in the garden.

We're fixing to get a gulley-washing rain any minute. A few minutes ago I thought I heard DD open the garage doors. Nope. It was thunder. Eeek.

Did I tell y'all about DS's unusual encounter yesterday? He and his husband went for a walk in a park close to their house and saw a lady lying on the ground under a park bench...probably under to escape the rain Wednesday night. As they walked past her, they felt uneasy and stepped back to have another look. It turned out that she was dead:cry:.

They called 911 and waited for the paramedics. When the ambulance got there, it was confirmed that she had died, and they were told they could leave.

A few hours later, DS got a call from the police tearing him a new one for not staying "at the scene" and was told that he "should have known better." What?He should have known better based on what? His previous experience of regularly happening upon dead bodies in a park? He told the officer that he didn't really have any information but that if the officer wanted to stop by, he'd answer any questions that he could. Holy cow! The officer started yelling that he didn't "have time" to be chasing people down (cop shop about a mile away!), blah, blah, blah. DS got tired of the harangue, thanked the cop for calling and hung up. So much for being a concerned citizen.

Anyway, he said that when they realized the lady was dead, they had to choke back tears:cry:.

... yep the garden centre, and the garden centre cafe....🌞🌞

Then I went to the market to get the watch stall to get a battery in my watch.. the market is only on 2 days of the week.. so I was lucky to pick the right day...but unlucky, because the watchman wasn't there today...

Got back and the gardener had cut all the hedges and had mowed both lawns, so I'm delighted with that... (y)

Meal service called and asked if I could fill in on Tuesday and Friday next week. That would mean 3 days and two would be consecutive. I agreed to do Tuesday.

Started preparing for garage sale weekend. Everything is up from the basement except two heavy coffee tables. Going through boxes and either discarding what I think is beyond hope to sell, cleaning other items; and rewriting price tags. Apparently $3 for set of Wedgwood plates is too much.

.....because everybody wants something for nothing these days..it's the same here....

Had some rain earlier today.

After lunch hubby started mowing our lawn,, wasn't going to mow the acreage where he feeds the deer.
He's mowed that & I no longer hear the tractor.

I hope he's talking with the neighbor,,not down the street mowing our tenant's lawn.

I was going to do some yard work,,, but we are out homemade cookies.

I'll be in the kitchen,, if you need me~~~~~~` 🤓
