How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Morning everyone... D day is here.... You've all been through the last 3 years of court with me.. and 4 years of seperation so I want to all let you know.. finally it's here.

A very sad day for me, but my Divorce became final today !

I want to thank those of you who listened to me online and by Private message that your support and aadvice was as valuable as gold to me... and I can never thank you enough for that...

Now it's over... 24 years of my life.. wasted...so now I have to hold my head up.. and walk on !!!

My friend sent me an online card which made me laugh.. I can't show it because it has foul languge but it says... ''Better to have loved and Divorced than to be stuck with a C*n* forever.. :ROFLMAO:
Aw, holly, it is a sad day and a relief day I suppose. No more dealing with that nightmare, just memories now.
I guess I'm trying to say I know it can't be easy. R (2).jpeg

yep that's exactly how it is HR.... very sad to know that I'm no longer married... but I always have to keep in mind just how bad he made my life.... and remember I'm now free of that....

Thank you for those lovely words @Pepper ..I just can't help feeling it was all for nothing.... to end up alone now at 70 years old...but I have gone on for the last 4 years alone, and I will continue... 🥰

@hollydolly In the words of the kids' cartoon, Bob the Builder, "Can we do it? Yes, we can!"

You've been trudging along for four years, nursing your wounds and learning to do life without the Albatross. The only thing different today is that it's official.

Trite but true: the best revenge is living well.
yes doesn't make things any better unfortunately......I just wish I'd not allowed him to treat me so badly... I wish I'd walked away much earlier...

There's so much more to the story that people don't know ... but anyway it's done...

What is horrible about the whole thing is.. that ''thursday's seem to bring the worst thinngs to my life...

My grandfather died on a Thursday, my mother died on the following Thursday 7 days later ... just this week I learned that it was on a Thursday my grandmother died, and I'd been told it was a Friday... and now today my Divorce has become final on yet another Thursday

Get a pack of plastic spoons or buy Klondike Bars.

On my early walk at 7 unseasonably cool 48 degrees,a bit breezy made it feel colder as I walked to get local paper for myself and friend, Connie
I took the Gates van this morning at 8:30 was dropped off at Walgreens needed couple items. Then I walked 2 blocks to local UPS store bought 2 booklets of stamps, the price is going up again in July. I started to walk home knew I wasn't going to make it. I just happened to turn around, saw a bus coming, got back here about 25 min ago
The rest of my day, read local paper, NYT, having dinner in dining room at 5:30 with Connie and the guys, Jim&his partner Gene, Fr Bob{ retired Catholic minister} This is our weekly get together, always interesting conversation

Guess what? Am on tablet. Cats chewed wire to new keyboard. My son coming Saturday to save me yet again. New computer useless. They've never chewed wires before. Goodbye friends for any deep discussion. Oy vay.
hang in there Peps the best is yet to come!!

I did a shop today.

What happened to grocery prices?!?

Since my wife is now here with me, we have to do a shop for us both, and we eat different things. For example, she's vegetarian, and I'm not. So a shop was £210!! Boy I'm getting old. That'll last, maybe two weeks. Crazy.

Still, tis what it is.

I bought a packet of crisps (chips). I sat on the couch and ate them with my dog. One chip for me, one for him. He loves chips. :D

You will be in for a lot of surprises if that was a sticker shock.

I know, I know. When you live alone, without consideration for someone else, things are so simple. You create this little world for yourself, and you're in total command. Introduce someone else, especially someone else with different wants and needs, and it goes crazy. It's not only groceries, it's things getting moved, going missing, and finding your plates thrown away because they don't match. Don't even get me started in the shower....... :D

I am sorry to hear that things are a bit curvy for you. It may just be the getting used to things phase.

I am sorry to hear that things are a bit curvy for you. No issues here.

The forum knows my circumstances, but I've not written about all of the ramifications, etc. In fact, I've not written much about the resolution.

Life isn't plain sailing, is it? What I can do is accept change, and set a goal of ensuring my partner is happy and content, as much as it is in my power.

That said, I look at some things and think........... What's up with that? :D

I'm back from my trip to Italy.

It was beautiful (flowers blooming everywhere, trees laden with oranges and lemons, gorgeous statues, etc) and the weather was perfect the entire trip (except for a few minutes of fat sprinkles one time when we were all waiting to get on a boat).

I ate a lot of pizza and gelato!
It wasn't too crowded (mostly). I particularly liked Rome, Florence, Venice, Amalfi, and Pompeii.

Ran your problem by DH. From him: At the risk of questioning your computer prowess, he suggests you try to boot into safe mode and recover your OS ( do not RELOAD OS at this time-that would be last ditch). If you can get the system to boot then try a windows restore. DH's Dell laptop recently had a,similar issue ( graphics driver through windows update). He was able to successfully recover the system. He is a retired computer tech.
I sometimes run computer issues I read by him. Sometimes he can help, sometimes not.

Edit: I had not seen that you will be buying a new PC. 😊
Thanks for your thoughtful input @hearlady . Could be useful to others herein.

Initially that was what I expected to do. However was not able to even boot into the OS, Operating System, from the Bios that first runs from firmware when a pc is powered up. On my now decade+ old expensive 2014 Dell, if the bios cannot boot, unlike with cheap pc's, it automatically runs sophisticated diagnostics and tries to repair whatever including possibly automatically entering Safe Mode with a list of Restore points. Since that ended with an unrepairable "No Bootable Device" found warning, it was a bad sign.

I thus had to from the Bios enter some Advanced options where I brought up a cmd.exe Command Prompt window that is a command-line text input interpreter first generation computers decades ago all used. While online researching hard drive repair info on my moto g6 smartphone, I ran various chkdsk and diskpart commands that showed my MBR master boot record structure had attributes errors and was stuck in Write Protect mode. I ran chkdsk /f twice on the drive that each time took about 15 hours to chug through, without improvement.

The internal hard disk can probably still be repaired as the physical media is probably fine with only data value errors. But that requires use of special software pc repair services only use and only have adequate experience to use. So at some point will bring it over to such a service, one of which is just 3 blocks away. Although even if found unrepairable, I may just lose some recent months files like GoPro video recordings, and some daily logs, files of which are only of minor value. The more valuable photography work I've done on 3 trips so far in 2025 and web site HTML code, are all on a backed up on a 4TB external USB WD hard drive.

Instead this forces me to now buy a new powerful desktop with a high end graphic card that I've been procrastinating to do for more than two years that I need to do before starting to publicly exhibit my photography using large 8k displays, something no others have yet done. Uniquely have the technical background to break ground doing so. I like the simple, ignored, out of social media and public awareness life I've been living, with being in the public eye scary. :)
