Awoke at 8am this morning feeling quite groggy after 9 hours sleep. Took another 45 minutes looking at my smartphone to actually rise up and start up the new HP. Had a desire to eat some syrupy pancakes but not the motivation to drive off and buy some. Drove late morning the 55 miles north to San Francisco both weekend days to enjoy the North Beach Festival live music, freestyle dancing for hours.

There are so many others at these street events, especially young women, that as they stand in place merely rocking side to side a bit one can tell they wish they could actually dance freely, however there is always a strong inhibition factor for those without skill. For decades, the only concerts where people usually overcome that are a Grateful Dead group concerts. A secondary reason I dance so much in public is to encourage others and show them how dynamically exhillerating it can be.

I do like the North Beach Festival more than the similar sized Union Street Festival I attended 2 weeks ago. The North Beach Festival along Columbus Avenue is on a hill looking right down on nearby towering downtown skyscrapers with many fun narrow alleyways I come to know and small restaurants are everywhere. I left a rock set at 6:30pm with The Traveling Wilbury's Review with a half hour left because was worn down. Next Saturday 6/21/25 five bands are scheduled to play in Golden Gate Park at the bandshell I am likely to attend.

Enjoyed the drive home, maybe the last long drive in my 2007 Forester with 280k miles I'd bought used with 58k miles. Because I cannot California register the Forester that is due in 3 weeks due to no SMOG certification possible, have been searching online mostly at Carmax, Carvana, and Hertz for my next used vehicle that will be another AWD SUV in the $20k to $25k range. This glacier white 2024 Nissan Rogue S with 38k miles for $22k was a Hertz rental.

Used 2024 Nissan Rogue S for Sale in Santa Clara | 95104

This black 2024 Nissan Rogue S Sport Utility has 28,269 miles priced lower $21k. Here in California sun, prefer a light to white color but is $1k less with lower mileage.

Think I will wait till tomorrow Tuesday and watch if something else shows. Need to remove a pile of gear from the Forester and dig out its Vehicle Title and after selecting whatever will withdraw a cashier's check from my savings account funds.

Also have several purchased Amazon items due in the next couple days including a Cherry (German mfg) keyboard/mouse combo and expensive new Zamberlan hiking boots.

Morning all, on my early walk at 6:50,temp was 62 as I walked twice around the building, saw 2 runners ,,1 person walking their dog, birds were chirping
This morning I'm dog sitting my 'buddy boy', Tage for couple of hrs. Marcia is picking me up at 10:30,she is a docent/giving a tour at Darwin Martin House. I'll be bringing my lunch,I know Tage will be happy about that
When I come home, try to get another walk in before it rains, read NYT
My friend, Connie invited me to dinner at 5:30 in dining room, along with 2 other residents
A perfect way to end my day
I forgot to mention this, Darwin Martin House was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright

After mic'ing and consuming a Progresso Chicken Rice can of soup for early lunch am feeling more alive.

At noon received part of the above noted Amazon shipment. CDROM Riodas BT638 Reader/Burner and a new Cherry Keyboard/Mouse all installed, up and running. Already really like the pretty white/silver $91 Cherry DW 9100 SLIM model keyboard that was on sale for $71. First time I've ever owned an expensive keyboard and already understand why others spend so much. Because the keystrokes are so natural and easy, am already typing fast with all my 10 fingers in a normal typing machine manner again that I never expected.

And have 3 new baseball style hats and a second same model synthetic shell jacket with my other blue and this one white.

I don't know about the legality of Microsoft notices. They may make suggestions, but cannot compel you to stop using your current operating system. I have one laptop still running on Windows 7, which hasn't been updated in years.

Windows operating system versions used to be supported for 10 years. Microsoft changed their policy with the release of Windows 10 by placing an end of support date of 2 years of less. If you're on Windows 10, you will no longer receive security updates or other fixes after October, 2025, but the operating system will continue to function, only without standard security protection. If that's a concern, you can still protect your system by installing third party software like AVG, Avast, Malwarebytes, etc.
Thank you. l will be adding those third party softwares. This is an expensive HP computer which l inherited from my dad
and it's specifically built to play great music.

l also have my original Windows 7 Dell laptop. l'm going to charge it up as soon as l find the electric cord that came with it.
l stopped using the laptop when lt stopped getting security updates.

Windows 10 was launched July 2015. So ten years ago.

My desktop computer has Windows 10 and an old desktop that I use for certain graphics programs (but isn't hooked up to the internet) has Windows 7.

Microsoft is offering a Windows 10 extended support for one year (through October 14, 2026) for $30.
End of support for Windows 10, Windows 8.1, and Windows 7 | Microsoft Windows

I'm not sure what I'm going to do about this, to be honest. It fries my bacon (and I don't even eat meat!) to think about buying another desktop when this one still works perfectly. Even more irritating, Windows 11 was launched in 2021, meaning It'll only be supported another 6 years, so if I buy another desktop now, I'll be in this same situation 6 years downstream.

Editing to also bring this to @Olivia's attention. :)

It's 11.30m now.. my daughter rings in her lunch hour usually on a Tuesday or Wednesday ... so I'm gonna for wait for her call, before going over to Costco to collect my lost petrol cap which they have kept for me....

Hope you have a super Tuesday everyone...

Have doctor appt. this morning. The cardiologist who searches for blood clots in my legs. Will be picked up at eleven. Am afraid to leave home, I'm scared. Something so wrong with me. Took .25mg Risperidone to help me. It didn't.

I guess I need positive experience with this, perhaps it will give me the boost I need.
The Risperidone did help. It just took hours to kick in. Just when I needed it to. I waited an hour and a half for the car to pick me up to take me home. When I got in the car, finally, I broke down. I cried "I want to go home." A lovely Russian lady patted me & held me!!!!!!!! with such affection and caring!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was first one in car brought home.

I didn't scream or yell. I just quietly cried. Like a broken down old lady. Which I was. But I didn't panic.

Rain again. No golf today. Will hit the gym for the first time in a while. Many other things to do today, including shopping for a shirt for an upcoming wedding; weeding my back garden (weather permitting); dealing with a problem with my homeowners' association; and doing some drawing and watercolors.

a load of laundry....exciting huh??!! haha.....

It's been very warm here, mid 90s, so I'm in summer mode:
Wake up, turn off bedroom AC.
Open the house early (5:30 or 6:00 AM), get the fans going to blow hot air out and cool air in
Close it all up around 8 AM, or whenever it's warmer outside than in.
The LR/DR/Kitchen AC kicks on in late afternoon (it's set to 77°).
When I go to bed I shut off that AC, turn on the bedroom unit (no guests so all vents are closed except the master BR)
Open the atrium and start the very powerful fan in there that blows cool overnight air into the LR/DR/Kitchen areas.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

I am heading out for my walk. I started out 2 hours ago but a bathroom emergency changed my plans.

I told the hubs that old age might be fun if it weren't for all the things that plague us and constantly change our plans.

He replied with heavily biased sarcasm about my extraordinary insight into aging. "Does your genius come naturally, or is it a studied discipline?" :ROFLMAO:
