It is 89 degrees in North Fla. I mowed a few hours ago. I used to love mowing before surgery. Middle of the day 95 degrees and bright sun. THis morning it was 82 and cloudy. Whipped me after half way. I ain't what I used to be. Supposed to be 92 today. I keep my AC on 77. 90s all week but we keep getting rain so that makes it much better.

@hollydolly, could you have a window air conditioning unit installed in your home? I do not know how expensive or if they sell them there but it would help if you could.
No, that's been asked of me on here many times in the past.... no my windows are double glazed...like this.... and open outwards

@hollydolly just a suggestion: google, "small table top air conditioners." Certainly not as good as a regular unit but hopefully better than nothing.

An ad I just saw: https://toptrendinggadgetreviews.com/conditioner/breezebox/copy2test/v2/index.html but is it true what it claims?
Another ad: https://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle...onditioners-to-cool-down-any-room/ss-AA1FO1em

We had the last few days again over one hundred degrees, though we have a desert climate with high daytime temperatures and cool nights. Thus, we open all windows during the night to cool down the house and, that way, the air conditioner won't kick on till late in the afternoon. Our humidity is generally low.

Amazon.com

Install thru the wall with a rain cover outside to protect it. A handyman can install it & to 230 V. socket, Doll.
Can make one level of your home comfortable. Maybe remove a small window on back of home/ shady for effiency
put it in it and fill in top that is exposed with Foam and Stuff.IMG_0979.jpegI welded up a bracket similar to this
to install a 240V AC on the side of a Mobil home, 2 1/2" thick walls. 1970 ish. Lol

We are projected to be in the mid 90'sF. here for the next 10 days or so. & humidity! I set the temp to 75 for conditioning to ease
the AC load.

As usual, I love causing myself more issues. So today, I'm seriously considering getting a bigger storage unit. Mainly because of some hot deals I just can't pass up.

Found Two of them for the astounding price of $1.99 each. If there had been more, I'd have gotten them too.

No thanks for the suggestion but no..I wouldn't have that kind of thing on my house..

I'd have something like I have in Spain if I was to get any,

but because it's very rare in the Uk for homes to have AC...it's very expensive to have fitted......I have fans in every room..

Up until midnight I was ready and prepared to get up early to go to the beach later this morning...... but it's too hot to sleep, and so it's now past 2pm... so there's no way I'll get up early enough to avoid the worst of the traffic.. so I'll leave it for another day...plus I probably should rest , I've been dashing all over the place 3 day in a row this week...

That's basically a Motel unit with heat and AC. Also, a good choice for a bedroom type size space.

I like sleeping in 74F myself. Nothing like pulling in a leg to covers and feeling cold about 2 AM. ... :ROFLMAO: ...
I can get them easy delivered to my home. It would seem you have a delivery supply B.S. thing there.

Drilling/ Bustin a hole thru brick brings another cost too. to get the outside unit mounted.
These units have inside and outside units due to Humidity and Heat pump needs.
But it can give you a wellness you do not have now. Choose your best cost way is advisable
you will love sleep-in chilled a bit this weekend too. Its 5 / 15 F warmer than normal this weekend here.
We stay away from the Lake due to Humidity of the lake now too.

I have one of those units in my F150 to go to the lake and my Garage next trip. Lol. Doors closed 77F.
I got a tractor to repair too. I'm a stubborn cuss and do it myself Coster is my thought too. ..... :) .....

Bring up an AC installation thing on your puter and study all the options.

And you just got to watch the way to put a wall AC in a home office micky mouse AC.
Thas Really Dumb i think after I AC in my homes for 55 years. It's 73 F here now., 80F out there after the rain.

thanks for taking the time, but I'm not going to do it, t's too much expense for 2 months of hot weather ... also I'm hoping at some point I can move house now the divorce is final, so I won't pay out for that only to have to pay again somewhere else..

Been Down So Long It Feels Like Up To Me, title of a novel by Richard Farina, want to give him the credit, he makes it seem almost lyrical to feel this way, but feel this way I do, but am hopeful today will be less stressful than yesterday. My elevator broke down yesterday, I was stuck in basement; the super took pity on me, told the elevator workstaff to stop fixing for a moment so I could go home, only to find out a prescription was wrong, had to deal with doctors and pharmacists to get it right. Not going into details, don't want to stress myself out again.

Am hoping for a better day. The sun is finally out after weeks of clouds. Surely the sunlight will help me today.

Today is another hot sunny one.... I'm not going anywhere today.. at least it's not planned...

The weekend will be chocka-block at the beach so I'll stay inland this weekend.. and hopefully drive down to the beach next week.

For now I'm going to go and make some chopped fruit for lunch.. and sit out in the garden and have that....later I'll assemble my very heavy new Garden table... 🌞 🌞

Good morning, sunny now but rain again this afternoon. The sky gets so dark and then thunder. It might not rain too much here but pour in other areas which makes me nervous about going out on the roads.

Our a/c was leased from a company and they take care of anything that goes wrong with it. It was a good idea for us and they come right away with any problem and no charge. The lease amount is not too large and we can work it into our budget. It also worked with a new water heater.

Hope you all have a good day wherever you live. :)

Just a suggestion.....
One window pane can be (temporarily) removed. Wood can be cut to fit around the air conditioner and close off any gaps. In the fall, the wood and air conditioner come out (saved for next year), and the window put back on.

I was going post yesterday, but the day got away from me. (that's my story and I'm sticking to it! 😁)

The rain had actually stopped! So Dio and I were finally able to take my Mom to Wal-Mart. I'm so glad that Dio decided to go with us! The other back window of my Mom's car decided to drop down (open), and it wouldn't go back up!!!
emoticon

Dio was able to lift the window by hand, so he went into the store and bought a rubber door stopper and wedged it in to keep the window up. Sometimes it's very convenient to have an Engineer around!!!!
emoticon

Now that she knows where to go, my Mom has an appointment for Monday, to get the window fixed. It should be easy peasy!

Today is another day without rain. There is even a big fireball in the sky!!!!! 😮. They say that summer has finally arrived. I sure hope we can dry out for a while.

I sure slept good last night!!!! I wonder if it had anything to do with the Tylenol that I took before bed last night?!!!! LOL. 🙃. It's a good thing that I did, because I have a ton of errands that need to be done in town today. I'll probably go to the gym first.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning and happy Thursday, June 19th. I spent half the day at the doctor's yesterday getting a treadmill stress test, plus two other EKGs, a chest x-ray, a 20 minute face-to-face and checkup with my PCP, then two phone calls from him. All in the name of getting medical clearance for a procedure Friday.

Unfortunately, my preventricular contractions (extra heartbeats) were in full glory all day. Even though they're supposedly not dangerous, it looks like I won't be cleared for the procedure because it requires full general anesthesia, which my doctor says I probably haven't had in some 35 years. Apparently the anesthesia I've had for colonoscopies and the endoscopy a few weeks ago were "sedation" rather than general anesthesia. Who knew there was even a difference???

I'll likely be sorting more of that out today. In any event, my PCP has ordered a 24 hour Holter test, some kind of whiz-bang treadmill test that takes images of my heart, a souped up EKG, and I don't know what-all else.

The bitch of it is, I was feeling pretty good about the stress test. The administering RN complimented me several times for being in such good shape, said she was impressed by how long it took to get my heartbeat to a stress level, and other than the PVCs, she didn't see anything unusual.

Sigh. I'm glad my PCP is being conservative, checking every possibility, but I was geared up to get this procedure behind me and am pretty sure that's not going to happen for a while. Sigh...
