How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Started in the garden at 730. It's already too hot to do anything more.

Yesterday our 10-day forecast was for hot and sunny with no rain in sight. Now our forecast is for hot with afternoon thunderstorms.

All that precise technicrap I did for so many years was for naught. I should have been a meteorologist and got paid for being wrong.

Had the gang over for pizza yesterday - very fun day. Today we have 3 year old grandson. His latest strategy to spend more time with us - he tells my son and DIL that he needs to come here we're crying for him. Too cute...

Lovely day again today. Forecast high is 84°, but fans brought in 58° overnight air, so the house is a cool 66° right now.

So much cooler than yesterday...92 deg yesterday 78 today...still humid but with the windows open there's a strong breeze, and that's fabulous!

It's almost 5.30pm... I've done nothing of any worth all day... just cooked some lunch.... dusted all the window sills and window frames because the windows are open almost all of the time.....and nothing else !

I actually feel really tired..even tho' I've done nothing..it's the lack of sleep due to the heat last night I think...

At the end of Mass today, one of the parishioners was giving the announcements, which included an upcoming festival day. He mentioned they needed volunteers to man the game booths; he must not have got the response he was hoping for b/c he said, “y’all are looking at me like an Amish person in a Best Buy” 😂😂😂

well HC you know this country has stopped anything that people find enjoyable... so I have no doubt that the minority who get everything banned, will find a way to ban certain dress..
I spent enough years in the apparel industry that I don't give two hoots about style changes. I wear what I want.

Daily wardrobe: Skorts that end a couple inches above my knee paired with sleeveless or short sleeved tees in the summer. Pants that go all the way down to my feet & LS or SS tees in the winter.)
Hey, you two, made my day, much appreciated.
Some people have a kind of archetypal concept of what old men should look like.

How's this? Attire okay for a 79 year old?

2 days of heavy rain. During Friday morning, got a surprise from our government. Since my state is paying my Medicare premium, the govt has to change the date I recieve my SS.

Instead of 4th Wednesday of the month, it's now the 3rd. The nice thing is that, UHC benefit reloads on the 1st, SNAP the 2 nd and SS the 3rd. So in 3 days, my budget amounts are in hand and I know my limits.

(A man's got to know his limitations)

I'll be driving to my medical clinic, registering my card with them and also Walmart pharmacy. Noe comes the pondering. I've applied for housing in WA and OR.

I'm wondering if the hassle of moving changing everything is worth it, or wait till a place opens in Washington.

I have been occupied with my health and the Iran bombing. Not a great combo for feeling better. In fact I am totally bewildered by them both. For people to yearn for "domestic tranquility " and then throw deadly things back and forth. Makes no sense.
The most important time for you not to get stressed over things you can't change is when you're not well.. you have to concentrate all your power on getting better and blow everything else that's going on in the world.

You and your life are the single most important thing..without your health there's nothing you can do to change anything else... 🤗

Time to drag the hose out. The regular rain has stopped and we have that annual high that blocks it all for a while. July and August. The months of keeping things alive. Or cutting them back so they'll return in the fall for a last hurrah.

I finished the last inherited quilt top. I wonder if whoever made them is ok with me sewing a fleece back and not a stretch and binding regular quilt back. They look nice and are warm and usable so I think it's ok. When Joanne's Fabric closed and sold everything off, I got a bolt of nice fleece for eight dollars. It was perfect for this quilt.

I've started reading every night and I really sleep better putting the electronics away at bedtime. I have so many books that haven't been read in so long that they are new to me again.

I visited my workplace the other day. Things changed in January and not for the better. A new micro manager who loves writing people up. I had two assistants in my office, both leads. Well, they stripped them of those titles and sent one to a different office very far from her home. They have no regular specialist. Mainly fill ins since I've been gone. High turnover.
I could say I don't care bit I do. I ran a good office. I am glad I retired when I did though, on a high, instead of things being like they are now. Chaos. You know hear lady doesn't like chaos. 😊

Good morning, going to the grocery store this morning as my husband wants a few things for dinner that we do not have. I have a hard time walking in the stores so have to grab a cart to help me walk. That is why I like deliveries. I do have good luck with deliveries as compared to shopping for ourselves. Enough of my carrying on.

Stay happy and healthy today, everyone. :)

@Rae Yay for shopping carts. When I shop with DD, I always volunteer to push the cart. It helps a lot when it's a big store.

Remember that I told y'all we only have two temperatures here in the summer? Hot and hotter. Today is hotter. I gotta throw on my glad rags and get out to the garden 30 minutes ago.

Oh! BTW, also remember about reciting the benefits of eating ice cream right outta the carton? Another one is that there's no bowl to wash. Once again, there is no charge for this valuable information. You're welcome.

It's another drive-by post for me.....

I slept fairly well last night and got up before the alarm. Technically, Dio got up, I just followed his lead. Since we are having such extreme temps and heat indexes (around 100°F/37.7°C) every day, mornings are the time to get things done outside.

Dio wanted to do things to the car, and Goob and I had our walk. It's getting hot, FAST, out there! I'm in now, having my coffee. Next will be breakfast, then I'll be off to spend the day running errands with my Mom.

I hate being out with her in this heat, but she needs to have the window fixed on her car, so it is what it is. At least I'll be with her and can make sure that she stays in the AC as much as possible.

I'll be offline for most of the day, again.

I've never liked A/C but this morning around 4:30 my apt was really warm, had the windows open but there was no breeze, temp was 78 outside. I closed the windows a bit turned on A/C which I can control went back to sleep. My early walk at 6:50,temp was 76 with a breeze as I walked around the building twice a before breakfast.I get the morning sun,so I've closed a couple blinds, its comfortable right now
I may take a mid morning walk depending on how warm it is outside, other wise I'll read my book, NYT
After dinner tackle todays NYT crossword puzzle

Well it's cooler day today thank God... I still have to have the fans on and windows open because altho' it 's 20 deg lower than 2 days ago at 72 deg..it feels sticky and heavy.....last night again was very difficult to sleep...

I'm trying to think what to have for dinner..usually I have that planned out , but not today....

I have 2 full freezers.. I got chicken and bacon out of the freezers today to defrost in the fridge over th next day or 2... but I really don't know what to have for tonight. It's 6pm now...
