How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Good Tuesday morning, July 22nd, SF peeps!

Went to lunch yesterday with a couple of GFs who I've been friends for exactly 40 years, give or take a few months. How fortunate I've been to have had these women in my life through thick and thin. No matter the crisis or celebration each of us experienced, we didn't go through them alone.

Today I have some business work to manage, but am otherwise am free to clean my desk area up and maybe purge some possessions. Ugh... I swear clutter and "stuff" breed like rabbits.

Time to feed Ozzy-dog and grab some breakfast. Y'all have a nice day!

Had to go for a blood draw this morning.

Both of us are slow getting going today.

Hubby has saw stuff to fix .
I Hope to get some peach jam made today.

Another strange deer happening.
Brother in law called to tell us that a young buck deer had came onto their porch.
Guess it wasn't very afraid of him.

Hope everyone has a good day today.

All the way up to their porch? Guess who's coming to dinner? 🦌

Well today is a recoup day. Yesterday went to the project house and put some cabinets in the kitchen and got the countertop installed. A bit of a case of cart before horse… but much like Holly’s troubles with reliable help I am trying to get the drywall/electrician guy finished. You would think after eight months he would be tired of this job…guess not. Maybe tomorrow back at project house…

Seen on a post on another forum: Being misunderstood by people you care about hurts differently. It's not just your words they miss, it's your heart. And no matter how loudly you explain, some people only hear what fits the story in their head.

Truth.

We have had back to back thunderstorms with torrential rain, intense lightning and strong winds. Recently they issued a flash flood warning and it’s no joke. I can’t post the pic (tried) but one of our low-lying parking lots has water 1/2 way up the sides of the few cars stranded there.

I live on a hill so not an issue but I’m checking friends.

I did a lot of napping during the day again. When I finally got myself together, I put away some of the items that my son brought home yesterday. I had three small Amazon orders and a Chewy order for Deja. I spent some time here catching up then had to get ready to go out tonight. my Honorary son#3 (HS#3) and H-daughter and I went to a local venue in our neighborhood to see a home grown band play live Jazz and R & B. the band leader thanked us for coming. I always like supporting them. HS#3 and I got up and danced a couple of times.

There weren't many people there, but apparently I caught some favorable attention for my moves, from the ladies that sat behind us and even one of the young wait staff, who I caught saying something to HS#3 about his mom's moves as I walked by. HS#3 mentioned it again on the way home. HS#3 was also surprised but very complimentary. I don't know why he was surprised...I had told him before hand that I love to dance and am good at it (but maybe because I didn't dance with him at the last event that was held there). We wound up having conversations with the ladies that were there. HS#3 & HD with the owner, who they both know. A good time was had by all.

I know I am terribly late replying to all your posts of support. It's horrible getting older and finding that things I used to do easily are so hard these days. I was 70 years old on July 11th and wonder why everything has changed. I used to be a litho engineer and travelled all round the northwest area and into Wales. Now I feel terrified taking the car out, hate going to the supermarket. I know I had a bit of a breakdown being stuck in the house alone because of COVID and wonder if that damaged me more than I realised. Thank you again for your support.
You share a birthday with my son Alain. It's hard to know if COVID is causing some of your symptoms. It must be very hard to find yourself not being able to do the things you used to do, especially simple things. One of the things I hear most from people in our age range is that they have a hard time accepting change, so you are not alone. I hope you can adjust to your new normal soon or that things will go back to the way they were, even if slowly.
