Mini heat wave. Yesterday reached 90F and so will today. I have no AC, so after waking at 6:30am opened windows and doors letting in cool marine air. Now 8:45am Saturday August 9, 2025, temperature downstairs has dropped from 76F to 71F.

Last two evenings after productive days writing code on my computer, have been out enjoying live music with much dancing. Yesterday drove 55 miles north and that was at Thrive City at the Chase Arena (SF Warriors venue) where I enjoyed two Dead style jam bands. What a great outdoor music venue for freestyle dancing with a superb elevated open view of San Francisco Bay from a deck about 40 feet above the bay. It is actually the end of a long walking ramp from street level up to an arena entrance.

Today have a choice to either get a Heart ground floor ticket ($47) for Sunday evening also at the Chase Arena or a $39 grassy lawn ticket to late 90s era grunge/metal/hard rock band Creed, a band I'm little familiar with that is playing tonight just 13 miles away at Shoreline Amphitheatre.

Have been driving my recently bought 2023 Trailblazer LS for 6 weeks now while accumulating over 1000 miles. Never much of a vehicle enthusiast, have unexpectantly, been rather enjoying driving this electronically modern machine. Very different than any previous vehicles.

Good morning, all.

I've been on flea eradication duty all day, including deep vacuuming, numerous loads of laundry, and washing Ozzy-dog AGAIN (third time in a week). This last go-round was an oatmeal bath to help soothe his skin and remove any final remnants of the flea shampoo we used the first time. Turns out he gets very sick to his stomach from the chemicals in the flea shampoo.

I was considering a flea bomb, then read the before and after steps, including bagging everything nearby or washing it thoroughly afterwards because it's poisonous insecticide. Hard pass on that.

Going with sprinkling diatomaceous earth on the carpet, brushing it in, and leaving it for a few days before shop-vaccing, it up. Non toxic to humans and pets.

So that's been my day so far.

I woke up this morning around 5 with a scratchy throat, wasn't; congested, didn't have a fever, tested negative for Covid I took the bus to Walgreens to buy cold medicine items, walked home around 8:45 when it was cool out temp was 73
I think what caused it, yesterday when I was dog sitting Tage, they had A/C going along with a fan,in the living room,I wasn't expecting that. I hate summer colds, so I'm lying low for a couple of days. Its going to be really hot this upcoming week, highs in the low 90's. When I saw Alex's assistant, Erika told her I wasn't going to do the walking club on Tues at 10am

What's become of @Blessed? She hasn't posted since last Monday. Did she mention taking a vacation or something? Hope she's not sick.

I agree, @RadishRose, @OneEyedDiva has a million-dollar smile.
I am here. Sitting around with my hands in my pajama pockets (not) since I never could find any! You must have them all.

Just sleeping all day and up all night....

I am tending to sleep later in the morning too. I think all those mornings, up at 5:30 am have caught up to me.
thats about when I go to bed. Sad thing, I was up all night, someone went thru the car, the dogs didn't even bark. I found out about 6pm when I went to go to the pharmacy, the car would not start. Then I saw that the trunk was cracked open.

They did not get much. Believe or not they took my trash bags, ziplock bags and foil. I had just bought a restock. It must have been an adult, a teen would not be interested in such.

Sorry to hear that Blessed. I would have thought they would have taken the tires and rims that kind of stuff. That happens along the I-State
here late at night, the car sitting on blocks, no wheels where it broke down and driver went to get it towed or couldn't afford the tow charge to a fixit, whatever.

No, around here they are looking for money, sunglasses, phones, computers. Pretty sad thief to take my trash bags and stuff.
perhaps they took them because that's all they could find, and a thief is a thief.

Thieves make me sick.. I had my car broken into twice... different cars... in the first one they took my radio cassette player, and damged the drivers door lock after using a screwdriver or similar to open it...... ..in the second one in Spain they bust open the passenger window.. for no reason, because there was nothing to steal...

Glorious morning... high expected to be 78... now at just after 10am.. its 69 f...🌞🌼

Gardener is supposed to be coming this morning... there's a lot to be done, because it was early June when he was here last . Gievn how flakey he is. ... I actually checked with him last night to make sure he's going to be here.. he said he yes.. but there's still no sign of him... .. so we'll see...

Today I didn't do anything of note except have a nice, one and a half hour conversation with my oldest grandson. I tried to post this last night, but my internet went out. Yesterday was a busy, somewhat productive day. I walked to the pharmacy to pick up one of my meds that for some reason OptumRX, my mail order pharmacy is not stocking. On the way, I saw a fairly new pharmacy that's much closer to home and stopped in to find out if they carry Rybelsus, if they accept my pharmacy card (OptumRX) and would it also be $0 co-pay. From what the pharmacist said, looks like that may be my new pharmacy. When I left the other pharmacy I walked over to the supermarket to pick up a couple of things.

I napped in the afternoon. When I got up, I did my nails and started getting ready to go to the Jazz concert in the park the next town over. It was from 6 to 9 and we got there early. The band was just setting up. They know us, were glad to see us and told us to set up right in front of the bandstand. My Honorary Daughter (HD) let me use her folding camping chair and set up a tent over me to shield me from the sun (which after about a half an hour, really wasn't necessary). Nothing like great live music and in a park setting...even better. The Rec across the street had a bathroom, so that was a relief (pardon the pun). :)

During the break, the deejay played some good music and I danced with the keyboard player. HD also took a couple of pictures of him and me and selfies of she and me. We support them whenever we can and I'm glad they had a good turn out. When I went back to the car, HS#3 popped up and surprised me.

I didn't think he would make it. He said he saw his pastor and others he knew there. He also got the opportunity to do some networking for the radio show. He said he had been looking for me...but guess he didn't see me because I was covered by the folding gazebo, although I had texted him that I was right in front of the bandstand. I won't be surprised if he goes with us next time.

At one point, I looked up and the sax player was right in front of my seat playing to me! Then he moved through the audience.
Here I am with the keyboard player, who is hidden in the photo above and with HD. I was in the blue tent.

Wow! @OneEyedDiva that looks great fun. You look great too. :)

They were just looking to steal whatever they could find. We have runs of it but not very often. One time it was a neighbor's teen.
They ended up moving.
it only takes one bad apple in an otherwise decent crime free neighborhood to cause mayhem and fear....

...as was the case when this guy stole the box of wine from my doorstep.. now I know it's very common for doorstep deliveries to be stolen... not here but geerally speaking. We only have to look on youtube to see that...but this was unusual for here... this is a place where really you can leave your doors unlocked, and the likelihood of anyone entering is almost zero.... so it was a shock when this was stolen...

However due to our ring doorbell the guy was caught, it was early days of ringbell videos so the police,..unlike today.. were very interested in viewing the footage... and come to find out this bad apple was known to them.. and he was arrested and taken to court and fined...

It's nice to see you @Blessed! 🙂

If you're looking for PJs with pockets, Felina has a four-piece all-cotton set, and both the capri pants and shorts have pockets! Available in two colors for a great price on Amazon. I bought both sets. 🙃

I was informed by "the Boss" last night that I was going to be chauffeuring her to the Asian district in OKC this morning so that she could do some grocery shopping and was told that if I was a good little boy she'd buy me a big bowl of Pho.....I'd do just about anything for a bowl of Pho so I plan on being a good little boy. :)
