Well crapola.....I took a shower to prepare for doc visit, and
after getting out my low back dumped on me, went "out"
that is, very very painful....so I called and canceld the app't., needf to reschedule, damnnitall....I can barely walk, so it is
back to pain pill, heat pad, ice pak, and tens unit,,,,,,,,so upset....:mad:😭😤
I know exactly what that's like Hawkie.... because I have the herniated discs.. and when my back goes out..thank God its few and far between nowadays, because I try to be careful of it... the pain is Horrific... you could throw up with the pain.

I hate when I say to my doctor my Back went out...and they reply... in a patronising tone '' what do you mean exactly.. that your back went out''... I always feel like saying...well it didn't go out for a night on the tiles..what do you think I mean...

Yes I'm afraid you know the drill... whatever works for you whether it's heat or cold.... .. and take muscle relaxants if you have them....

Only heat works for me even tho' I'm told I should use ice..

Hope it doesn't last too long...

That's so rude and arrogant. I once told a doctor I wasn't feeling good because I had the flu. He says "How do you know it was the flu"? I told him I'm not a child and have had the flu before.

cheeky sod.... how dare they patronise like this.. and they do...

I once had a doctor tell me that I was too short to have herniated discs because only tall people suffer from that... this was a Consultant no less.... I swear.... I couldn't believe my ears

Hello, everyone. I haven't been posting lately but I found out I have a higher potassium level which is bad for kidney disease but the doctor wants me to be re-tested next week. I have an appointment on Friday and he will tell me more bad news, I am sure.

I really hope all of you are doing better.

Weather is nice without so much rain.

Good day to everyone. :)

Oh no Rae..I wondered where you were this last few days but I just thought as it's summer many of us do other things. 🌞

I'm really sorry you've not been feeling well, I know you have stage 4 kidney disease.. I really hope your tests do not give you more bad news...🤗

I've just been out sitting in the garden having early dinner. I had the leftover Chiken Chow Mein....from last nights' take away... , the sun has moved to the front of the house now in early evening, but it's still wayyy too hot to be outside in the back garden
There's some feta cheese in the fridge, my other half suggested using it up this evening, so we are having a Greek Salad. Then we will be off out to join friends at the Tuesday dance night. No doubt her feet will itch again but she must be patient. "Don't allow your heart to race," her surgeon advised.

definitely too hot for dancing..I hope the hall is well airconditioned

A little on the frustrating side. I was called in to sub for another meal delivery driver. Currently there are 9 clients. Three obviously weren't home. They are supposed to notify the agency if they aren't going to be there so their delivery can be cancelled, but this seems to be a chronic problem with some clients. I could have saved 15 minutes and 8 miles if they had just done that. I requested a driver meal to take home and when I pulled it out of the car, the flimsy bag broke. Luckily the meals are heat-sealed in the trays.

On a lighter note - this Ethan Allen magazine rack and small pottery item were on the give-away table at the senior center. Google Lens indicated the pottery is McCoy, even though it isn't marked.

Well!

Phone rang just now, odd # but I'm expecting a call to schedule my iron infusion and often MDs use a third party company to do scheduling, so I answered but didn't say anything immediately.

Automated voice came on..."J*** H*** is calling you from the Toombs County jail; will you accept--" The End Call button has never been pressed so quickly lol. Eeeek... I think I'll go take a shower

I just got back from my eye exam....and I passed with flying colors!!!! My Doctor and very pleased with how well I'm doing. She even changed one of my annual tests to every other year!

I have excellent news for a change. I DO NOT HAVE PARKINSONS. I have what I was diagnosed with six years ago, what @Elsie has, "benign" essential tremor. I cannot take any of the medications for it, however, as it would interfere with one of my blood thinners, so not an option. My neighbor told me her sister gets Botox for it, and it helps her tremendously, but I don't feel that is an option for me either.
Just today i picked up this info at Mayo Clinic.
I had never even heard of TAPS therapy devices for essential tremor.

We talked about the role of stress with this condition. They don't mix.

The important thing is I don't have Parkinson's. The doctor who diagnosed that? Well, I was a mess in his office that day, uncontrollable shaking. Thank goodness I couldn't tolerate the meds he put me on, so didn't take it. Outrageous.

Enough about me.

What great news! Enjoy

This morning I spent three hours driving others around. A thank you would have been nice. i finally got to my errands this afternoon. I am supposed to take Tramadol for foot pain bur it always makes me itch. Nurse told me to pick up Claritin and take it before taking the Tramadol. So now I am waiting for the pain to subside with no itching. If this works I will be so happy.

Friend who runs food bank dropped off a couple of bags of goodies. She doesn't take no for an answer. There are three packages of Thomas' English muffins. I haven't had those in years. I will share with neighbors or freeze.

I ran out of steam so baked a DiGiorno pizza and threw together a cole slaw from a package.

the magazine rack is one I had myself years ago, and the cause of me losing all but one of my wedding photos.

Story :.... The rack had newspapers and magazines in it... the wedding photos were all in a large envelope. I'd brought them down to show a visitor, and after they'd viewed them, they put them into the magazine rack..without me realising.

Later I upended the rack of papers into the dustbin.. without even checking anything..just thought that everything had all been read.

It was only after the bins had been emptied that I discovered what had happened to the photos... :(

That happened to me with a small collection of arrowheads in envelopes. Visitors threw the envelopes in the trash along with paper napkins and chicken bones.

The Greek salad was served so well. My wife has a gift for presentation:

It was as good as it looks. What's more we are having it again on Sunday. Only then it will be a picnic. The reason for that comes from a text that came through yesterday. Later today we are off to Salisbury Cathedral.

Swing Unlimited Big Band (SUBB) is performing at Salisbury Cathedral on Sunday, August 17th 2025, at 1pm to 4pm. The event will be held on the lawns outside the cathedral and is free to attend. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics and dancing shoes for an afternoon of live swing music. There will also be a bar, BBQ, and ice cream available.

That text was to ask if we would come along in the vintage MG, of course we would. That's why we are going there today. It's a kind of rehearsal, so that we are familiar of what to do and where to park on Sunday.

Afternoon folks...

Warm again today but cooler than yesterday...at 78 deg...however it's overcast so it feels muggy and heavy....

This morning I was out in the garden cutting back the Ivy using my left hand with the secateurs.... not an easy job.

I don't get the gardener to cut the Ivy because I like it to be a certain way and he would cut it back too hard...

The tarp that is protecting the roof of the barn from leaks , has started to tear, even tho' it's very thick... . I dunno if it's caused by the Collared doves and Wood pigeons or even the squirrels walking over it or pecking at it, or just weather.. but it's only lasted 6 months, so I'm going to have to find a tradesman who can come and re-do it all again... but right now in my present condition I'm not ready to deal with tradesmen..

Have a good Wednesday, peeps..
