@hollydolly. That was a very insightful message you posted. I saw right away it was given from a place of caring. @Pepper – hope things get better for you.
I was just rereading my own post and was struck—and embarrassed—by how self-pitying that statement sounds. My son will never talk to me again, and it seems that everyone in my family has taken against me.
Is the middle picture you Honeynut? At long last I've gone to see the wild ponies that live on Assateague Island (absolutely everyone else in Maryland has been to Chincoteague or Assateague to see them, I am literally the last person to make the trip!).
The bus trip was yesterday, I had to get up 6 hours earlier than my normal waking up time, so I felt draggy but it was worth it. I know most of the rest of the world is used to wearing sandals in public, but for me changing on the boat from my clunky old-person orthotic supportive shoes and socks to flip flops was so alien that I felt like I was getting naked. Made it extra memorable to walk in the water on the beach.
I felt really lucky to actually see the horses because the trip description was very emphatic that there was no guarantee we'd see any (apparently depends on the direction of the wind and location of biting flies as to whether the ponies would be on the Chesapeake Bay side or the Atlantic Ocean side of the island). We also spent a couple hours at the boardwalk in Ocean City.

I save my photos to a plug in USB Drive,,,, 500 gb.I deleted more photos from my Google Photos app. I also called Public Service, our utility company, to question my equal payment plan reconciliation bill. The way they do it makes no sense. A credit for $30 was showing, but was not actually subtracted from the total and the agent could not give me a reasonable explanation as to why that was. This is the third time I've been on the equal payment plan and had to call because the bill was incorrect !
But got some good news this evening. Our boil water advisory has been lifted.
Looks great @horseless carriage. We have been to an amazing nostalgia, come vintage, festival. It is spread over a number of locations, all within an hour's drive of where we live. It goes on all weekend. Unfortunately we have somewhere else to go tomorrow, but we will be taking our vintage MG to the finale at Salisbury on Sunday.

The fellow in the deerstalker hat looks period perfect, he was photographed more than the steam engine behind him. The centre photo is that of a tram, the town of Blackpool retained their trams when everyone else was scrapping their's. The link will show you a modern tramcar but they have kept the old ones for heritage days.
The photo on the right is the famous red telephone booth, or phonebox, as they were known in Brit-speak. I tried to buy one at auction but when the bidding price became too silly I pulled out.
HC, I’d like a ride on that tram.
Looks great @horseless carriage.
A friend of ours worked for the Post Office for many years so, when he retired and had the opportunity to buy a disused telephone box, he snapped it up! He passed away last year and now the old phone box stands in his son's garden.
I know modern replicas do not hold the same appeal but, one year, when we were on holiday, there was one in the conservatory of the cottage we were staying in, it looked pretty good.
Full size replicas of the K2, K6 and K8 and K8 red telephone boxes from The Phoney Box Company Ltd
lol..naaa you wouldn't it shakes all your bones....HC, I’d like a ride on that tram.
youre so lucky to have so much happening near where you live.....View attachment 443247View attachment 443246View attachment 443245
Tomorrow's finale will be a Swingtime Era concert on the lawns in front of that arch of 800 year old Salisbury Cathedral.
Given that it's all free and the weather is glorious, there is going to be a huge audience. How lucky we are to have been invited to display our old MG. A place to sit when it gets too tiring.
A couple of photos from a previous year's concert.
So grateful to (((holly))) and all you others for giving me such loving help. I thank you so much. May I say? I really need you people. Thank you.@hollydolly. That was a very insightful message you posted. I saw right away it was given from a place of caring. @Pepper – hope things get better for you.
I love that, @hollydolly! We have those Little Free Library boxes in my town, but they're only about the size of a large breadbox, and the ones in my area are usually messy and not well kept up.we've also got some which are used as village libraries..
This one isn't in our area... but there are quite a few in rural areas just like this
