I have never had this old house heat up like it is today....it is
81F in my living room today....got the a/c set to 74f....I guess
just too hot outside and it is coming in thru these uninsulated
walls....bummer.....:cautious:

@holly.......We had traffic this morning,, something unusual for our town.
Traffic pattern has East, West streets .
The other North/ South
To miss the North South traffic we took a side street ....it was full!
Traffic like that all way to Walmart.

Told hubby lots of travelers on the road today.

Walmart's parking lot didn't look full,,, but store seemed full of workers & people .
The serious shoppers were hurrying around with carts full of goods, with their kids following them.

I was using my shopping list,, kept running into stockers & their carts filling shelves,
Or people talking in the way,,I just turned & move on.

I Couldn't think of what they reminded me ,hence odd seemed to fit.

At least it wasn't Amish shopping day.
Those ladies can fill a shopping cart or 2.
Always surprises us when you see them buying carts full of commercial made bread, boxes of cake mixes.

Oooh I wonder if those shop bought bakery items are passed off to the public when the Amish sell their ''home baked goods''?

Today I got two things in the mail today that I had been procrastinating about, One was a sympathy note to a man with severe dementia. The other is a watercolor painting for a grand niece's birthday, I have made lots of prints and notecards from paintings but until recently have kept the originals. At this stage in life I am giving them away to anyone who might appreciate them.

Anyway, I treat them like they have value and mat them in museum quality matboard and use linin tape. So it took a while but it is done.

On to Walmart for two prescriptions. Then I tried to have a hair trim at Great Clips but there were 10 people ahead of me so it can wait. Last time I called ahead and they said five minutes but I live 20 minutes away. Wednesday is senior day. There was an Aldi next door and I picked up a pork tenderloin with a good date. An eventful day for me.

I have medical procedures the next two days and a blood draw on Monday.

Well - today I'm being sent back up to the central Lake District to retrieve Mrs Oy's handbag that she left at the restaurant we had our anniversary meal in on Monday! And of course I'll take my camera. And of course the weather forecast is dull and overcast. Then again mountains and lakes can look great in moody weather. Particularly in black and white :)

It's been three months now, since I last went to work. Health issues forced retirement on me, (a hernia,) I have an appoinment with the surgeon early in September. What I so enjoyed about work was the interaction with younger generations, we have no children, so obviously, no grandchildren. At work there were many twenty-somethings, engaging with them was a kind of surrogacy.

Since retirement I have had unsolicited text messages from three of them. In addition when we lived in London many years ago, we had the privilege of being asked to be Godparents to our friends two small children. Those Godchildren have grown up, married and started their own family, yet they have kept in touch. We get regular texts and they just love it when I reply with a hand written letter. Not because it's oldfashioned, what they love is my Italic Script handwriting.

On my phone this morning was yet another text from a youngster at work, seeing our house for sale on the agents website, it was a most complimentary message about our lovely home. ( You can see it here. ) In this morning's message was a comment that an offer had been accepted. I texted back: "All you have to do now, is pay for it." A reply came back. "That thought keeps me awake at night." I've been there, done that. It's good to have young friends.

Put off doing a grocery run until today since I have to get my B12 monthly shot today.
Doing my part to save gas and eco-pollution, well that but truthfully, why make 2 runs to the same area.
And it's cooler again today, means car window down and my music on loud while on the interstate
.
@hawkdon I wish you were closer I would swing by and have you come sing with me in the car.
At least it will be cooler for you today, gain some strength back slowly now, step at a time.

I've just come in from the garden for yet another mug of tea, but while I was out there just now, I thought that I saw a mouse walking up a tree, but looking through my binoculars I realized it was a bird (one I've never seen before), a Tree Creeper. Now that made my morning for me. 😊

This not the actual bird, but it could easily be his/her brother. 😊
