My two Boxer boys are going downhill, and I am looking for a replacement at sites like:
www.24petconnect.com,
www.adoptapet.com, and
www.petfinder.com. Good Boxers are difficult to find at this time, and a number of places are run by volunteers that are unreliable in responding or make it rather difficult to adopt one of their pups, like:
www.rrboxerrescue.org or
www.boxer-rescue-la.com. A Boxer I want to adopt should look pure-bred and be between 2 and 4 years old, tail cropped, etc.
I just visited the large city/county Riverside Shelter
www.rcdas.org (
3rd picture) with probably several hundred animals of which the majority are dogs. Because of overcrowding, you can adopt them for free, spayed/neutered and chipped also for free. I really like two young Belgian Malinois (
pictures 1 Silver, and 2 Jasper both 2 years old, weighing 50 and 60 lbs) and may adopt one, but I am holding off in hope that I still can find a suitable Boxer.

Right: my present pack: Ross in front 10 y/o 96 lbs has a mouth tumor, a $1K surgery didn't help; then Heidi 5 y/o 65 lbs; and last
Otto 8 y/o and 94 lbs with a thyroid cancer. I had several Boxer but never had such bad luck. My last two Boxer girls lived to 14 and 15.

I used to have 4 Boxers for many years. This is a tapestry my children made for me. When we walked abreast, then everyone got out of our way.
