Packleader..I've decided that you are the REAL life Superman.....

Dearest @hollydolly

I desperately wish you were right, but you are not. I just don't have the energy anymore I used to have. Between 1999 and 2019, I hiked the 3,000 foot high Box Springs Mountain hundreds of times. I wouldn't make it anymore.

Now I have to wear hearing aids. After my 1997 cataract surgeries, I had a fabulous vision. But now I have to wear again glasses for driving. In 2019
I tore muscles and tendons in my left hip and have been limping ever since. Right now a sleep study showed I have sleep apnea, and something has to be done about it. I have an appointment with a surgeon to look at the skin cancer on my right hand. Do you want to hear more complaints?

Well, I am looking at a glass of milk not as being half empty, but as being half full.

The late Rev. Schuller, founder of the Crystal Cathedral (now Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove,) had a tremendous influence on my life, "God loves you, and so do I." He changed me to become a visionary optimist. The Serenity Prayer by Reinhold Niebuhr also influenced me. I am not really religious, but religion can teach us much. However, I am taking religion with a grain of salt.

Travelling in the Holy Land for two weeks in the summer of 1997 gave me inspiration and filled me with awe. The Church of the Holy Sepulcher had no Lutheran Service, so I pretended to be a Catholic to join my religious wife in a Holy Mass. At the spot where Jesus died, religious denominations are meaningless.

With increasing age, I am looking at life more in perspective: we are made of star dust, and eventually we will become again star dust. But let's enjoy life while we can. Aside from my family, my pups fill me with joy and happiness.

Jacaranda trees (left) used to bloom only in spring, but many of these trees are blooming right now. Confusion? Climate Change?

I had to walk 40 minutes before starting to hike here uphill. I can't make it anymore. I rather go hiking now closer to my home. I adopted Rex on the left 5 weeks ago at 12 months & 60 lbs to replace my ailing Ross who had to be euthanized. Rex will keep growing and replace my beloved Ross.

Left: My puppy gives me so much joy when I watch him running and jumping with boundless energy. But when he is chasing
my wife's chickens, then I give him a slap on his butt and say, "no, no, no" pointing to the chickens.
Right: My puppy challenged the Great Dane. But when the big guy stood up and barked, then my young puppy quickly hid behind me.

@-Oy-, Ugh... What a terrible experience to have been burglarized. Hoping the anger and frustration doesn't ruin your trip.
terrible thing to happen but sadly all too common in holiday lets and hotels on the continent.... ..even my own house in Spain had an attempted burglary , and I was at home at the time.. so even knowing someone was home didn't stop them.. .except I did... and he got more than he bargained for.. a broken leg was just one thing for his trouble... ...

..as an aside.. ''Burglarized'' is not a word we use in the UK altho' I know it's commonly used in the US... instead we say... Burgled

..anyway either way it means some scumbag has stolen something not belonging to them...

tell me another almost 90 year old who can hike for 40 minutes... and then hike up a rocky tor. even if only for a small way ..?.. tell me another who can handle all these heavy muscular dogs on a daily basis ... as well as doing all the work you do on your property... and in the supermarket yesterday as well...
I disagree with you....
You beat any superman in my eyes...

Morning all folks of SF!! Up at 430am today...52F deg out
there, only up to 58 or so later, chance of rain high at 10am
when I have to travel to pulmon doctor....feeling a little more
settled this morning...I think this new copd breathing script
is whats causing some of my aggravation, after reading the
side effects....ah well...just keep on truckin !!!!!! have a great
day in spite of anything!!! ;):p:love::coffee::devilish:

At Pappy’s house nothing really planned. 33 degrees out there right now. Still need to get a haircut, but really don’t like going to barbers anymore. 1948, 50 cents for a haircut. Now, $33 and up, not counting tip.
Pappy you need to get a hair shaver... give yourself a haircut...my X used to do it all the time... loads of money and time saved...

Morning all... sunny breezy day...temps 12 deg c.... 🌺

It's 11.30am... I want to go out, but I'll stay in and wait for my DD's lunchtime phone call... and then I'll go out after that. She could ring me on my mobile when I'm out, but chances are that I'd be driving.. or in the salon or store... it's more convenient for her to call my landline... so I wait in for her..
I slept really badly last night... don't know why..I hate that because it usually means I'll drop off later in the day...and I don't like that..

Have the best day you can SF'ers....

Good morning to all. It is cooler here today with the high being 70 degrees. It is 60 now.

My husband's eye exam yesterday went better than I expected. He has a new prescription for glasses and has to return in 6 months. His eye pressure was higher in one eye.

Today going out to get his new glasses, his eye medication and go to bank. That will take up our morning.

Have a good day, everyone. :)

Not sure what today holds for us.

Am hoping we go to buy ice cream mix,,,I'm addicted to evening milk shakes.
While in town should stop at library to get some books.

Hubby going to get the old truck inspected for another year.
Will see what he wants to do after he gets back.

Hope everyone has a good day.
