Lots of speculation, but no facts here. Yesterday evening we were surprised to see a police car driven at high speed through the village. Over the next quarter of an hour, another four police cars drove past our house, with lights and sirens on. I phoned friends who live on the edge of the village if they knew what was happening, but they could only see that there was a lot of activity some distance from them.

Today, there are police cars outside a house, and our friends said that the police had been searching round the house and that an air ambulance had been at the scene. There's been nothing on the news, so it's all speculation as to that's happened.

That's the most excitement we've had in ages.
Did you inadvertently move to Midsomer, @Capt Lightning ?

Well - we're home from Porto. Apart from the bteak in and stolen stuff we had a great week. We were up at 3am this mornin g for a Taxi to the airport - then the flight back to manchester and a train and taxi from there home. We had a fab time and Porto is a lovely place. So - where next? :)

I think that most people here die of boredom:sleep: Unfortunately our neighbour who was the 'eyes and ears' of the village has passed away. She would probably have badgered one of the cops till she got all the details and then announced them round the houses.

Some time ago I was in my storage unit and looked into a container my wife had not looked at for over 20 years. In it I discovered almost 600! family photos.
I sent them to a recommended company to have them scanned. I received a memory stick with all the scanned photos, and uploaded them to her laptop.
Today I presented the laptop to my wife and she was blown away. There were photos of her starting from 1 yr old, her parents, her children, and grandparents.

Good morning to all. Cold this morning 45 degrees.

I had an order from Walmart and they didn't deliver 6 of my items. I went round and round on a chat and finally received the answer. They were out of stock, so ordered from Amazon for twice the cost.

Anyway, hope everything goes well for everyone. Have a good Halloween. :)

I slept well, little to no pain during the night. That's a first!!!! I'm not even talking any acetaminophen this morning! Next year, I'm going to request the same Tech for my procedure!

Goober just came into the house. He'll stay here until we're ready to leave for his new Vet's office. While waiting, I guess I'm the "Chief Head Scratcher" on duty! LOL

Chilly morning here,, hubby off to the dentist this morning.

After we were done with his doctor's appointment we went to the dentist.
We had tried to make appointments via phone,, they never left a message.

Three ladies 'manning' the desk,,no patents sitting about , waiting??

We gave them a smile showing off our missing teeth.
Hubby went in first as he only had one tooth that needed replaced.
That 'won' him an appointment for today & root canal work.

My turn with dentist took longer .
Was given the choice of 3 or 4 ways for new bridge.
Settled for something similar to my old one.

Had to have several impressions made.
Bits & pieces of the material they used making them,, stuck on my face.
Will go back in 2 weeks to see how the new ones fit.

Waiting for hubby to get back from dentist.
Root canal was supposed to be 2 hours long!

Hope he doesn't have any side effects.

Everyone take care today.

Good morning and Happy Halloween!

Yesterday we had our 20 month old and nearly 4 year old grandsons for about 7 hours while DS & DDIL went to a funeral about two hours away. The service itself lasted two hours!

Anyway, it was an all hands on deck kinda day. Lots of refereeing between the two, plus the little one is at the age of needing eyes on him at all times.

Today we have the older one for the full day because their daycare is closed... We had been asked to take them both for the day, but I had the foresight to decline. DDIL's friend has a kid his age and is taking him for the day. If they'd been stuck, as they were yesterday, we'd have taken both. But at these ages (theirs and ours) watching them for a full day is a lot.

Their family will be back this evening for Trick-or-Treating since our neighborhood is more active than theirs.

Hope you all have a great day!

Guess what...?

Are any of you anywhere near guessing what happened to me today ?

An idiot woman sideswiped me , by being in the wrong lane... smashed up the front panel of my new car as I was on the way to my physio treatment...:mad::mad::mad:

I was headed to the barn this AM and saw this - my horses on the wrong side of the fence🙄. No big deal, as this entire property is fenced in. The big deal was finding how the got out.

Aha! When the kids were visiting and went 4-wheeling, they didn’t lock this gate to keep the master locksmith from getting it open — I have double latches on everything because the very intelligent Arabian is also clever and onery as heck.

I had to hurry back to the gate after I fed them because, as I suspected, Ali-the-Arab thought he would give lock picking a go, again😂😂

I wish I had a GoPro and could have videoed their sweet selves going to the other side of the barn. The fact they listened to me at liberty and walked themselves through the barn to their end of it, is something only another horse person can appreciate.

It was time for breakfast, so that was their enticement but they were 200% the perfect gentleman coming through a part of the barn they aren’t used to.

Reciprocal trust is a great thing when dogs are involved — it’s a lump in your throat moment when two 1,000 pound horses are involved ❤️❤️
