How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Think it rained most of the night,,, every time I woke up I heard rain hitting the roof by my window.

Unless hubby finds another tree to cut down,, we are done splitting wood.

Started dusting the book shelves in this room.
Thinking about changing things around..

Already have my mother's parents pictures & one of hers up.
I have old pictures of my grand parents from my father's family.

The next shelves have wild life figures & plates
May just dust those shelves & clean figures & plates,, put it all back as before.

To find some good pictures of my father's family may take awhile.

Hope every one has a good day.

Home from North Georgia.

Yesterday had one very special happening. My younger granddaughter, who is essentially nonverbal autistic, came up to me and kind of “leaned into me“ — that’s her way of saying ‘I’d like a hug.’ I gently hugged her; then older granddaughter came up and wanted a hug too.

So I said, “group hug!“ And the three of us stood there in the hallway of their home, hugging each other gently. My younger granddaughter is not a ‘touchy’ person, but she accepted this and it was a very special moment for this grandma.

Left: A half year after her retirement, my wife has recoved and finds the energy to turn our 6 y/o grandson's play area back
into a living room; and to clean the refrigerator and every drawer in the kitchen. We designed the house ourselves although a
Cal Poly architecture grad student put in a proper form. Our worst mistake was designing the kitchen as being too narrow.
Right: On second thought, do I really need three dog beds in my bed room?

Our large yard is a dog's paradise. I love watching my 13 m/o puppy running uphill, jumping over the water, and even falling. But a
bored puppy left unattended is problematic. Rex managed to turn my bedroon upside down, including throwing all of my bedding
to the ground. My grandson wouldn't have been able to do a better job when bored.

Left: Cutting an Olive Tree is only half of the work. Nature is tenacious. With Muraic Acid and Roundup, I am trying to prevent
the tree from growing back. That's a tough job. Right: The moon is setting in front of us, while the sun is rising behind us.

G'morning peeps of SF... 🌺 🍂

Overcast start to the day today Friday ...leaves from the trees have fallen en masse during the night, so my car is covered in wet leaves... and I have to go out soon to my physio appointment

I'm actually really on edge now because it's this time last week that stupid woman sideswiped me on the dual carriageway... and my new car was damaged. It seems much longer than a week because I've had to deal with so much in the interim...

.. however I have to go.... and just hope that people are paying attention on the roads today...

Hope you're not feeling like a sledgehammer has hit you this morning @Llynn and on the way to feeling much better 🤗

Have the best day you can ... folks....

It's a bit cloudy this morning, but it still promises to be a beautiful day! I don't expect to receive Canada's gift of cold temperatures until Sunday, and I'm not going to keep them for very long. By Tue it will be warm and sunny again! 🌞

My day is still in the planning stage, so I'm not sure what I'll do......

@hawkdon regardless of what my day brings, I do not have any where near the energy or enthusiasm that you have today! Send some my way, pleeeeeease! 😅

EDITED TO ADD.....
I almost forgot to say that it looks like good weather for traveling tomorrow. Right now, the plan is to go to the roller rink, for the first time in 4 weeks! I get to go skating!!!!!

@packleader

There is a product called "Tordon" that kills the stump and prevents those little rootlings from growing. It kills the entire thing. I have used it in the past few months and so far, so good. The man at the local farm store recommended it; also, the guy who cut down a few trees for me said he uses it. You paint/pour it on the area where the bark meets the inside of the tree. Easy to use. It looks like Amazon has it. Does it work? Ask me next spring.

Don’t know this place well enough to bitch and moan so I’ll tell you about something impressive. This morning got my own personal copy of the NYTimes! Haven’t read this gem in years! Four bucks daily and I’m afraid to guess Sunday—I think it’s at least ten!
So a welcome surprise!t
Best thing ever! Saw my grandson last night! I haven’t seen him—except for FaceTime— in about a month!
Anxious to begin PT.
That’s it for a bit

Back home, Physio done for another week .. verrry busy on the roads being as it's Friday... and it literally poured of rain making the roads very slippy because of all the wet leaves.

I drove to the next town after physio because they have a big Charity drop off warehouse, and it means that I can pull up right outside their door to drop the donations rather than having to park elsewhere and walk with a heavy box as I have to with all the others.. and they come out and take it from the car for me

Then to the coffee house for a much need latte .. and then to the store for a new white zip up Hoodie.. that I want to go under my Brown Body warmer...

I ignored temptation to go anywhere else because of the rain and the heavy traffic.. and just came home.

It's almost 3.15pm and it will be dark in just over an hour anyway

@Pepper Does the NYTimes have the daily Wordle in the printed papers?

How exciting it must have been to see your little grandson again. Try not to worry about the PT, or anything else for that matter, sounds like you are doing fine 🤗

Good morning everyone. It is warm and sunny outside. My gardenia plant seems to be staying green on its own but I did water it this morning. I had it cut down so I can cover it when the temperature reaches freezing.

We have children here that are riding those scooters and bikes that are motorized. It seems so dangerous as some just go so fast and swerve around. It has been reported that there are deaths and injuries from using them. I just hope nothing happens to them here but I must be careful when driving as they do not seem to pay attention to drivers.

I hope you all have a great day. :)

Expect a quiet Friday at home today. Yesterday's blood test was again stably in normal ranges where it has been for a few years now.

A couple major media events today I'll make note of. The Predator: Badlands movie starts playing today in theaters. I looked at seat costs and at least a local venue has $9 senior tickets while elsewhere are $15 to $25. Will wait till the media noise quiets some, then likely attend an early, cheaper show mid week.

The AC/DC, 2026 Power Up Tour, one of my favorite bands, tickets for a local stadium date, go on sale in about 80 minutes, but I've decided to not bother as even nose bleed seats are $134 minimum. On their last tour, enjoyed them with stadium floor standing room tickets for under 2 figures that today would be several hundred dollars. I hate watching rock music sitting down that for this person is unnatural... boring.

Saturday have a couple multi-band live music choices.

Remember my last post where I mentioned we were done splitting wood?

Electric company had a line clean up crew firming back trees,, that could fall on the wires.

Hubby has started cutting the logs into smaller hunks,, hauling them home.
I tried to get him to get someone help him,,,, but didn't need help.

I did have flow him up with the car ,, give him a ride home,,, so he could take the ATV with the saws etc.
His legs weren't up to a long walk on unlevel ground.....where trees were down wasn't only not level but lots of rocks to trip over. ???? men??

About lunch time it started to rain,,not a light rain but a steady heavy rain.
He came back off the hill with the truck,,,left backhoe,, has more use for it when rain stops.

He has been grumbling about me doing nothing today,,,,,so here I am.:D ☺️

One of the first things after I retired was to clean and organize everything. In fact, I'm still at it!

In rehab! Change happened FAST! On Upper East Side two blocks from family. They already came to visit! Food here YUCK but it’s being served to me! Sooooo
Will work Very Hard at PT. Miss my 🐈‍⬛🐈
Glad I have SF. Grateful for your support and presence.

I went with DH today for his V.A. appt. They've opened a new clinic just a little closer but a much easier drive.
We ate lunch out and stopped in a couple of electroncs stores.
I didn't sleep well last night so Ill be in bed early. 🌙

Today I went on a hike. I used to go with this hiking club every week but this summer I was too lazy to get up for it on Friday mornings. But now (starting in November) they changed to their afternoon hike schedule and even I can get up in time. I love deciduous woodlands.
