Feel better @David777 . ๐Ÿ˜• I had norovirus several years ago. It stays fresh in my mind. Horrid stuff!

I have cleaned room by room. Today I'll tackle the kitchen then tomorrow Ill do some pre cooking.
On Sunday everyone will come and mess it back up. ๐Ÿ˜ No worries. It's deep cleaned so I can touch it back up. The girls are staying after for a few days so we'll live off leftovers then DH and I will rest over Christmas.

To all noticing the crazy traffic. Yes! I've been saying that Friday is the new Saturday but lately everyday is the new Saturday. I try to get out and back as early as possible.

Midnight Friday now. This Thursday morning, I came down with an unpleasant case of norovirus. Seems like am already recovered. Unpleasant nausea for first 3 hours, threw up several times, shaking chills, 100.4F low fever. Very immobilizing

Very contagious virus probably picked up at one of 2 supermarkets I visited Wednesday by touching objects like doors, carts, and especially the self checkout screen. Not easily killed by alcohol cleaners.
Be well David...it's a horrendous virus, which makes you feel so ill..... but hopefully it won't last more than 48 hours...hope you feel better very soon

I am very careful..not OCD.. but I do try whenever I leave a supermarket having touched trolleys and baskets, and touch screens ..as you say... to use the hand wipes when I get back to the car.. a throwover from Covid days ..in the hope that it will prevent me from catching something horrible.. .

I was worried yesterday mixing with people in the Mall.. supermarket and Hairdressers... because there's a big outbreak of a nasty flu variant going around.. the news stations were full of doom and gloom about it.. 2,500 people are being hospitalised every day in the last week due to this flu...

I don't know whether it's because of all the driving yesterday..but today my right shoulder hurts a lot......annoying... hopefully it'll ease off if I take a Methocarbamol.. and add a heat pad...

Have the best day you can peeps of SF... ๐ŸŒบ ๐ŸŒผ ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ‚โ›„

I agree , I have long said the same thing..first it was Sunday is the new Saturday then it was Friday... and now as you say, it's every day......and so much worse because of our over populated country and narrow roads... and my little market town is a domritory town, so our roads are jammed solid with traffic just passing through..

here we're kinda caught in traffic whenever we go out because between the hours of 6am and 9am, it's head to tail traffic, rush and school hours.. between 9am and 2.30pm.. its busy traffic.... and then from 2.30pm it's school traafic and rush hour traffic again..until around 7pm.. when it's dark...

The only real break we get is during the school holidays and the roads are a lot clearer outside of rush hours .. which is why I feel that there should be a ban on people dropping kids off at school, and school buses should be introduced instead...

Oh wow, Mounjaro ..that's a big deal... are you diabetic ?.. personal question coming up... do you have a lot of weight to lose ?

I don't think doctors routinely subscribe Mounjaro unless there's a great threat to your health.. so I hope it works for whatever you're getting treated for.....unlike the vast amount of people who are buying it , outside of a doctors prescription...

Feel better soon.... ๐Ÿค—

A HUGE tragedy for us. Yesterday our son collapsed and died. We assume it was a heart attack. He was 50 years old.
We've got all sorts of things to do, so you'll understand that I wont be posting for a while, probably not till the New year
I know that your love and condolences will be with us at what should be a happy time of year.
Love, Capt Lightning.
I am so sorry to hear about your son's death, Capt. Lightning. May your family be comforted by memories of him.

Yes, type two diabetic and yes I need to lose weight. I have tried, but I can;t exercise due to a hip replacement. Can't stand for than 10 minutes with low back pain.

She said do you want to take the shots. I said yea, put me on insulin cause I cant do it, she said not yet lets try this, she went and came back with free samples of this. She said to start it on Saturday. One shot once a week. I go back on Jan. 8th.

It is like a pen thing, you just put it on your belly and push to inject, I hope it is not painful. We will see. I was ready for the insulin if needed, she will check my A1C next month. I am so depressed and exhausted I have just given up. Most people say they are afraid to die, I have now decided I am afraid to live longer with the pain I endure due to other things I have,

Morning all, I was tired yesterday, because I couldn't; go for my long walks due to the icy condtions on sidewalks, being cold /windytemps in the low 20's.I did walk a couple times on the hallway to get exercise I went to bed at usual time ,9:30 next thing I know it s 7am
On my morning walk at 7:15,temp was 25, as I walk slowly across the street due to ice/snow on sidewalks to buy today's USA Today
My plan this morning going to weekly exercise class at 10am, read today's NYT, USA Today. I may go out for another short walk in afternoon, the sun is out, high today near 30
Everybody have a good day

I am to the part where I am wondering if I should be committed to mental ward. I am so scared of everything right now. I feel like I am losing my mind and not capable of making any clear decision. I just know I cannot go on like this.

Sad news....no more coffee at the little grocery store. They have permanently removed the coffee station. It wasn't really a surprise, since one of their other stores took it out about a month ago, but it was still disappointing. We've been going there for our coffee for many years. It's the end of an era!

Yesterday's trip to the phone store with my Mom was everything that I expected it to be. In the end, she got her new phone, and was happy. I still have a bit of sinus infection, and was tired. As soon as we were done, I just wanted to go home.

When I got home, I walked in the door and the first thing Dio said to me was: "I made a pot of coffee, and saved you a cup".

I was so grateful to him for doing that!!!! It was just what I needed!! ๐Ÿ’•

I might make another batch of fudge latter today, but for now I'm just relaxing! No big plans for the day.

Tomorrow I'll be skating, so I'll be offline all day. ๐Ÿ›ผ

Going to get the ladder out of the storage shed in a bit and clean mama's leaf filled gutters again for the second time this season....I priced those gutter screens things but they want an arm and a leg for them so I'll continue to do it myself till I can't.
I have had those gutter screens and they just made it harder to clean the gutters. I took them off; never again.

..and you know in your more lucid moments that there's nothing to be scared of. You've lived a life up to now and nothing terrible has happened that hasn't happened to other people.. you have to try and bear this in mind.. that nothing terrible is likely to happen going forward.

Your doctor is addressing your health issues, it's up to you now to do what you can to help her help you... and when your weight has reduced, you will find that the pain you suffer will also be reduced. Try not to worry.. thousands ..nay milions have gone through what you're going through now.. and have come out better, the other side... you will too....and we're all here for you.. don't forget that..

I had a gutter cleaner come out , and do mine. He used a big industrial type vaccuum cleaner .. cost just ยฃ40 ...window cleaner can often do it as well

That's the beauty of deep cleaning, isn't it? I'm in the same place. Deep cleaned a couple of weeks ago so today and tomorrow I'll only need to spiff things up for Saturday party. It doesn't start until 4 PM, so I'll have most of tomorrow to manage final touches.

Today I'll run a load of laundry, bake a couple of hundred biscotti (made the dough yesterday), make a big pot of pizza sauce, hang the Christmas cards, and see what else needs doing.

Beautifully said, HD.

Funny how "deep cleaning" has come up since the last few weeks that has been on my mind. Will wait until the remodel is finished. Why do it twice?

Good morning to everyone.

@Blessed so sorry to hear you are having a problem with your health. Please try to get help with feeling so low. I hope you can do as hollydolly has advised. I am sending my best wishes to you. ๐Ÿค—

It is cold here again. I am wearing extra shirts and a warm jacket as we go out this morning.

Have a great day to everyone and take care of yourselves if not feeling well.:)

Exercising aerobically in the beginning for those that have not done so for long periods is difficult and unpleasant mentally, especially the first few days that often leads to giving up. After a couple weeks one will increasingly feel better. And afterwards, knowing you travelled the life long path to eternal life read:

Google AI Overview:

You can get a great aerobic workout while seated or in water through activities like
chair aerobics (air punches, seated marching), arm cycling, swimming, water aerobics, chair yoga, or using a recumbent bike. Water exercise is excellent as it supports the body and reduces joint impact, while seated exercises target the upper body and core, boosting heart health without needing to stand.

Seated Aerobic Exercises

  • Chair Aerobics: Follow videos for air punches, jabs, uppercuts, seated marches, and leg lifts to get your heart rate up.
  • Arm Cycling/Hand Biking: Use a device with pedals for your hands to strengthen arms and get cardio.
  • Wheelchair Workouts: Sprinting or sports like basketball, badminton, and rowing offer intense aerobic challenges.
  • Seated Twists & Raises: Twist your torso and perform leg raises while seated for core and leg engagement.
  • Chair Yoga/Tai Chi: Focus on flowing movements, deep breathing, and core engagement.
Water-Based Aerobics (Excellent Support)
  • Swimming: A full-body workout with natural resistance.
  • Water Aerobics: Classes offer modified jumping jacks, leg lifts, and arm circles in the pool.
  • Water Walking: Walk in waist-deep water, lifting your knees high for resistance.
Equipment-Based (Seated Options)
  • Recumbent Stationary Bike: Offers excellent cardio with leg support.
  • Resistance Bands: Use bands for upper body and core work from a chair to build strength and endurance.
Tips for Success
  • Consult a Professional: Always check with a doctor before starting a new exercise program, especially with mobility issues.
  • Start Slow: Gradually build up intensity to recondition your body.
  • Focus on Movement: Anything that raises your heart rate and keeps you moving is beneficial.

Am relatively ok now, though feel like Monday morning after a long weekend. Given a minor headache, after about 12 hours, I consumed 400mg of Ibuprofen, and a couple tablespoons of sugar, the only thing I ate Thursday. Slept much of the day, rather immobilized. By midnight, woke up feeling better with my temperature down to a normal 97.8F after being 100.4F at the peak. In order to revitalize my GI track with familiar healthy bacteria, at 5am this morning, consumed a half cup of Kefir Strawberry Probiotic drink with added sugar and seem fine.

Have had norovirus a few times in the past, and it always seems to last less than a day with its really awful nauseous symptoms just a few hours. If one is not outdoors, one must find somewhere warm to be still, laying down near a restroom. Just need to grit it out while knowing the worst does not last long. Whenever the feeling of throwing up starts to rise again, I immediately move to a restroom before I really have to, as waiting even briefly chances an uncontrollable disaster mess.

Now at 8:30am PST, construction crews have begun banging away with staple guns on the roof of my 2-story condominium 4-plex as they replace shingles. A few days ago they removed all the old shingles on the now bare roof, then yesterday delivered stacks of packaged new ones.

On my new Pixel 10 PRO, went through all Settings menus noting options, including all the sub-menus that was very productive. Many more Settings options on this new high end phone versus my old Motorola moto g6. Although I changed some options like the ring chimes, others I need to now research before understanding what they do. The security and location options are especially involved. The extremely complex device, much like my Sony a6700 camera, is not something one can be lazy about and effectively use without some time and effort studying.

For unknown reasons yet, was surprised to find my 40 or so Youtube skiing videos, play on the Pixel 10 PRO, with noticeably better quality than the bandwidth compressed videos using my Asus 4k UHD monitor from my HP Omen desktop, that was similar to my Dell laptop 4K UHD. Same videos when uncompressed on my desktop/laptop running say Windows Media Player are as clean as running natively on the GoPro display. The old moto g smartphone was likewise lower quality.

A quick web search related that was probably due to display pixel density, but that is obviously incorrect, and instead expect it has something to do with the video codec selected in the phone that YouTube detects. Something I need to research more on a YouTube forum. The desktop/laptop videos show what looks like wind blown snow moving across the snow surface that is due to compression noise. I had thought, the videos would look the same on any display or device but that is not true. If true, that means I should be able to upload a newer codec to my desktop to remedy such.

This morning, will visit a Staples 2 blocks away to pick up 3 Amazon items at their Hub Locker. The more interesting item is the earbud settings that require reading documentation, I may put off a few days. Otherwise, a quiet recovery day at home.

Not even 11 AM and laundry is doing its thing. Biscotti is on its second bake. Christmas cards are clothes pinned on ribbons from the coat closet door. Can't go too low or the toddlers will pull them off.

We'll set up more ribbon in a nearby place because more cards will be coming in! โ™ฅ๏ธ๐ŸŽ„โ™ฅ๏ธ

I'm just waiting for my dinner to cook..I'm having Chicken and ham pie.......and I was thinking that today is my youngests siblings' birthday... 12th December , she's 63 today... and I remember the day she was brought home from hospital. It was the winter of 62.. and the worst winter in memory Scotland had seen with snow half way up the doors..... so bad people still talk about it today.

We lived in a prefab.. a post war building to replace all the bombed out homes... with no insulation, single glazing with metal frames and metal doors... this.....and it was freezing. We had one single bar electric fire in the livingroom, and that was all the heating there was..
prefab-ours-archer.jpg

they hadn't got a cot or crib for her even tho' she wasn't premature.. we were just too poor to afford one..., and she had to sleep in a deep drawer that they pulled out and put on the floor...

...... but she survived and today she's 63 years old !
