I walked over to the supermarket early this morning and was back home by 9:13. I figured I better go today because it's supposed to snow for 12 hours starting tonight. The forecast is only 3 - 4 inches, but I don't want to be out in it. I put away items from my Amazon order that came a couple of days ago. That involved bending down and pulling out boxes I store my shampoos, lotions and liquid soaps in. It's not always easy to get the boxes back under the shelf. I also did a little of this and a little of that.....small things that in and of themselves are no big deal, but that take time and make for efficiency.

Midnight Friday now. This Thursday morning, I came down with an unpleasant case of norovirus. Seems like am already recovered. Unpleasant nausea for first 3 hours, threw up several times, shaking chills, 100.4F low fever. Very immobilizing

Very contagious virus probably picked up at one of 2 supermarkets I visited Wednesday by touching objects like doors, carts, and especially the self checkout screen. Not easily killed by alcohol cleaners.
Sorry you got that nasty virus David!

How the Angel Got on Top of the Christmas Tree:

One year, Santa was having a hard time. Nothing was working out. Mrs. Santa was grouching at him, the elves were getting ready to go on strike, the reindeer all had distemper. He was about ready to crack.

One of the elves came in and snarled, "I'm sick and tired of all those Amazon deliveries ending up in my corner. What am I supposed to do with all of them?" Santa snarled back, "Stick them up your nose!"

Then one of the reindeer hobbled in and whined, "We're never going to get well if we have to eat that inferior hay! What am I going to do with all that old hay?" Santa snapped and yelled, "Stick it in your ear!"

Then the angel came in, moaning, "Why do I have to always be responsible for putting the Christmas tree up. Where the h-e-double-hockey-sticks am I supposed to put this darn Christmas tree?" And Santa shouted, "STICK IT UP YOUR A......."

And that, boys and girls, is how the angel ended up on top of the Christmas Tree.

Well, try as I might I could not get to sleep at all, I even took an ambien. I laid down a couple of times for a hour, it did not work.

So I gave up. Got up again at 5. Started a load of towels. Start a pot of soup beans, peeled potatoes for mashed potatoes. Have corn simmering.

I took out a chunk of pot roast. Put it water to help it defrost. I will put that on later.

Need to do the floors and if I still have energy when I am done may make a desert....pie or cobbler. Hope everyone has a good day. Hopefully I can sleep in a couple of hours.

Morning all, on my early walk at 7am was a tad cool outside, 10 all bundled up but didn't go far just around the driveway/sidewalks by front entrance a couple of times. The sidewalk around the building is covered with ice& snow
My plans today, watch our church service on line at 10:30.I,called in my brunch reservation for 11:30,no idea who I'll be sitting with. This afternoon my weekly chat with my brother, read today's local paper, wrap 3 Christmas presents
Everyone have a good day

Good morning everyone. It will be 78 degrees today but cold tonight at 39 degrees. It is up and down temperatures but later this week it will be like springtime weather through Christmas at this time predictions.

I played Power Ball last night and matched two numbers but nothing to win. I wonder about these large amounts that no one seems to win and then someone does with a large winning amount.

I hope you are all doing well and have a good day. :)

@againstthegrain , much of the time I am about five steps behind on this form. I am just now seeing your photos of the moose and the eagle. Absolutely gorgeous. How very fortunate you are to be able to see them first hand.

Do you have livestock to care for, or the responsibility of somebody else’s livestock? I know you know how to prepare for the cold, but the cold you folks are experiencing near the Canadian border is absolutely brutal. Prayers for all of you to be safe and be warm.🙏🤠🙏🤠

Last night's Pizza/Cookie party was so, so, so much fun! The crowd of 27 had a rollicking good time. Next events here aren't until the 24th & 25th, so after relaxing today my focus will shift to more baking, prepping, then shipping boxes of cookies to far-flung friends and relatives.

The Pizza/Cookie party between Christmas & New Year's will be the big one — somewhere around 60 people, more than a third of them toddlers through ten years old. Can hardly wait!!!
😁🎄🍕🍪❤️

Saturday evening, instead of driving 45 to 55 miles north, just drove about 6 miles away to a local venue where I was surprised to find a scheduled live music band with excellent older Classic Rock era musicians. There was also a nearby SantaCon event so a few lively gals wearing Santa hats and decorations danced about with me for a couple hours. Lots of families with kids everywhere having holiday fun.

Today, Sunday, attended a 9am mass filled with families and small children as our parish has had some special pre-Christmas events. Lots of fun involving the priest asking questions to the small children. Just consumed an early baked potato lunch and later will watch the 49ers vs Titans NFL game at 1:30pm. But since that is 110 minutes away, am about to go back outside that is now 48F and still foggy, then walk a few blocks to our local downtown where there is the usual Sunday farmers market, one of the most popular in our region.

Well today I finally got around to rearranging the spare room that has the new wardrobes in which arrived last Tuesday... I had to clear out a big ottoman to make room for some drawers.. it was either the drawers that had to go or the ottoman.. so I decided to get rid of the ottoman even tho' it's not even a year old..

.but the drawers are more expensive Oak... even tho' I've had them a longer time..

It looks really nice now in the spare room with the new wardrobes, and everything else all neatly placed

At 6pm I put the Ottoman online for sale.. at 7pm it sold.. at 8.20pm they came and collected it.. so within 3 hours of me emptying it, it's sold and gone... (y)

The ottoman held a load of stuff, and I have no space for all it anywhere else.. so now I'm going to donate almost everything that was in it.. mostly Boxed Games like Trrivial Pursuit , hand luggage, etc..

Just after I had eaten my dinner... my neighbour came around with a big plate of home-made Ham, cheese and pepper pizza.....so I've put that in the fridge for tomorrow

Made meat ball soup for lunch,,,, as Hubby's cough seemed worst.

He ate 2 bowls of it.

Every time I make soup I remember the large soup dishes we had.
Does anyone else know the ones I'm talking about?

Bet debodun has some.
Sliverfox..sorry to hear your husband feels worse ... has he been tested for Covid ?

I don't know if anyone here likes The Cure, but they were one of the last bands on our bucket list to see in concert. We missed their last concert because we were out of town. We saw "The Cure: The Show of a Lost World" at the theater today. Full 2:47 concert for a fraction of what it would cost us to see them live. They still sound like they did in the 80's!
