G'morning peeps of SF.... 🙋‍♀️

It's overcast, and dull this morning, but no rain, no wind, thankfully...

I have a few things to do today in the house..I do have a lot I need to be doing outside the house, in that I have to go to Costco.. and to Tesco.. and to the charity shops, as well as the recycle centre all at some point this week..hopefully tomorrow...

I have an electrician coming on Wednesday to fit a new smart meter...so I have to be in for that.... and then my GP told me at some point this week , I have to go to the pharmacist and get my BP taken...

..so we'll see how this week goes..

Have the best Monday you can Folks... 🌺

I regret of having bought a 2 1/2 acre land because it's just too much work to maintain it.
I am on only 1 acre but I totally understand what you mean. On the side of a mountain with a rushing creek bisecting it, heavily wooded with brush under the trees, some of which are deciduous, some are pines/spruces. Steep hills, big rocks, you get the idea.

The first year, I raked up all the leaves and pine cones. Over 70 leaf bags. The second year, I raked only the paths. Also irrigated. I cleared out one area of underbrush but couldn't manage to drag it all out to be hauled off so I hired a group of young men and they did that. Nobody had ever done any of this before. I will join that group and just let it all be natural in the future.

I do maintain the area immediately around the house, especially the small fenced in garden in front, which is also the dogs' area. Mother Nature can care for the rest.

Morning all, when I woke up at 6:30 temp was 14, we got about 5 inches of snow . I may go out briefly this morning just to get some fresh air,but won;t go far. Last time I went outside was Fri
I have no plans today, do NYT crossword puzzle on line, start another book. I'll see what today's lunch & dinner menu has to offer
Everybody have a good day

While the Rams <> Seahawks NFL game played on the TV, I found a link to a website that has researched and recently rebuilt the Classic Rock show history at the Fillmore West in San Francisco. I stumbled on it due to that thread asking about hippie stuff. There had been an earlier website that listed many of the shows but there were lots of unknown holes in that calendar. The new listing that was built with spread sheet separators is thorough. So I copied the data of just the period I was going to shows into Excel and then used my word processing and Excel skills to rebuild that into a much more organized Excel chart.

I captured a crude Pixel image off my computer screen that is the barely readable below haha. Difficult to read the crude photo of my work but enough to get the idea.

This was a typical line of information I used for the chart:
27 August 1970 Fillmore West, San Francisco, CA John Mayall, Elvin Bishop, Herbie Hancock Lights: Little Princess

After awhile, once the show sequence was correct, given the way human memory works sequentially, amazingly I've been recalling quite a bit. Of the 140 listings, I only recognized about 100 of the music group names as some were more obscure to me second and third acts. Music would sometimes go way into the wee hours. But I might recall more with some name and photo web searching. I usually would only go to one show during multi date show dates. Although I don't always recall every group name, I do recall attending almost every one of the shows.

One of the things I just recalled after looking at the web page show sequence was Iron Butterfly had been on the marquee with their famous In A Gadda Da Vida, on the date just previous to when I first saw a show there that I wished I had been to. Later that decade did catch them at another venue.
In A Gadda Da Vida swooped right into my brain and here it is entertaining me right now. :)

Good morning, everyone. It will only be 62 degrees today and 28 tonight. I guess we are in for the cold weather, now. We usually do not have so many nights with freezing or below freezing temperatures.

I am expecting some deliveries today and I need to get outside to do some chores.

I am sorry to read some of your posts with cold weather and other problems. Please stay safe and well. 🤗

Cold 8F this morning, but that is normal for here. I must go to town today but the roads are dry so no problem. I am NOT happy with the new carpet installation and will have a discussion with the store manager about this. Not looking forward to this.
It just one unnecessary thing after another, I know how you feel... good luck, hope you get a different installer 🤞

I'm starting to get arthritis pain in my hips..specifically my right hip.. and it's a different pain to the OA in my fingers or that in my right knee ... really makes me feel nauseous at times.. and I find if I drive for more than 15 minutes it really hurts... and today was no different, I was doing all the jobs that need doing.. and after about an hour I had to stop due to the pain in my hip... rest for 1/2 hour and start again.it's killing my lower back of which I've had long time problems..

I don't really know what to do about it.....I hate to take Painkillers unless absolutely neccessary... and I'm not used to being pulled up like this, because I'm very active... a fast walker normally.. I can still run... but this is threatening to stop me right in my tracks !

Anyway moaning aside... I just got a delivery of Tea towels.. in Black & white to match the new Utility room... very happy that I didn't have to drive a 30 mile round trip to go to the store for them👍

It's another wool socks kind of day!

I've been Little Miss Suzy Homemaker today. I started out by emptying a kitchen cubbard, and cleaned out the whole thing. That's not something that I usually do, so I had to evict some dust bunnies. I also went looking for dust bunnies in the "never noticed areas" of my oven, like in the hinges of the door, etc.

For our tea break, I made what I think are called "Cheese Quesadillas". I'm munching on them now....they turned out yummy......

After my tea I'm going to make a loaf of pumpkin quick bread. It's just a box mix, but it'll be good enough.

Dinner will be a big bowl of Thai food: Ramon noodles, veggies, etc.

By then, my kitchen should be a complete disaster, and I'll spend the rest of my day doing dishes and cleaning up!

Stay warm everyone!

#1 I wish you would grow a beard and mustache. Then we can vote on whether it would behoove you to keep it! Whatcha think?

Was your previous phone a Pixel? Mine is and I've been thinking about upgrading to the 10 Pro. The sticking point is that this phone has irritated me from the day I got it. The worst part is whenever Google updates it, my settings get changed, and new stuff happens. Like after the latest upgrade, I cannot answer my phone. Most everyone knows that now, so they know to let it ring a few times and then hang up and I'll call them back. I'm pretty tech savvy, so I've already found everything on how to handle this problem, and none of it works, including a few ideas of my own. So pissed I am. ( @hollydolly , in the US that means angry, not drunk!)

Secondly, Google just got caught in CA doing something like spying on people regardless of their phone settings. I'll post a link when I find it. I run, of course, a vpn (Proton) along with other proton apps on my phone, and have CCleaner, and so forth. Privacy is absolutely vital to me because of no reason other than I believe that I (and everyone else) am entitled to it.

So are you having any problems with your new phone? Thanks for any upcoming advice!
No beard or mustache for young looking but old mr dave.
A dated Motorola g6.
Am not a post smartphone social media user. So not one with useful smartphone advice.

Slight head cold is continuing to disappear. Will be on computer today making a dent on weeks of work to push through. Also taking breaks re-reading Remembering by Lisa Genova. Given continued globally stuck fair dry weather in our region, will be inactive from any skiing, possibly for weeks until storms become active again.

Since Adobe Premiere Elements I've been using a few years is no longer free but rather a monthly subscription, reviewed other software. Plenty of reviews on non-free software but few on free apps. Most of the paid software now have lots of automating VFX AI tools that for my basic track editing purposes would likely just be annoying. For instance, my native GoPro 11 videos MP4 files are huge and due to the conditions recording while skiing, contain much dead space I need to cut out. After exporting, the processed files are about 1/20th the size. So delete the storage wasting original files.

Downloaded free video editing software, shotcut, that will be starting to use today. Online PDF manual is 496 pages long so will be dealing with that unpleasant reality. Also downloaded the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader software.

Today I got a lot of stuff done... I took the opportunity of clearing out a bunch of stuff during the build of the Utility room.. and today I had to sort it all out into Donation Piles, recycle piles and garbage... the wheelie bins are full up...

One of those jobs I wish I'd never started,... but its all done now....well when i say done I mean the stuff connected with the kitchen/ Utility / shed etc... the upstairs is another days job, lol...

Anyway it's all ready to go .. tomorrow apparently it's going to rain.. and wednesday I've got an electrician coming... so hopefully I can get it all taken by Thursday.... if not before.

I did some more Laundry today..I'm still struggling with getting the temperature right on the new washing machine.. DD called and she was talking me through it..even tho' she has a different machine, but she looked at the instructions online for mine and because she's so highly technically minded, she thinks it's a breeze.. but I'm just the opposite not techi at all.. so I plod on trying to work it out ! :p

Replying to myself...

I took pictures before I left. When the manager approached me, the first thing I did was show him the pics. We discussed at length what should have been done on installation and what now can be done to make it right. At my request, a different installer is coming in the morning to take a look at the mess and come up with ways to fix it. They may have to pull up the hall carpeting and lay new. We shall see. If they think they will have to remove the new baseboards, they have another thought coming.

What is irritating is that the original installer could have done this right the first time but did not. Lazy, in a hurry, didn't care. The manager wanted to send him back and I told him to send someone who could do better, not that first guy.

let's hope they can come and fix it with as little disruption to you as possible now...

Hubby's dental app. was canceled due to 'bad roads."
Upset him has he has a tooth that aches.
He's been eating soup for about 2 weeks.
He is supposed to go in Wednesday at noon.

We have enough snow that Hubby's ATV got stuck!

The old truck & snow plow we have won't keep the plow in the correct level.
He only plowed us & our rental house.

Mac does not like the deep snow,,,,his butt gets chilled.

Looking at weather forecast,, cold is going to last for rest of this month.

We are supposed to go to hospital for a "Wellness Check" tomorrow morning.
Not looking forward to it.
Feel it is another way for the government to gain control of the elderly.
