How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2026....

It's now coming up towards 5.15pmpm.. it'll be dark soon...I didn't go to the recycle centre...instead I took advantage of the winter sun and did some rug cleaning outside..

brushing and beating the rugs... and vaccing the floors...

I've got all the metal things piled outside ready to take to the recycle tomorrow or whenever I get the chance

The electrician who was supposed to come recalibrate the Smart meter , cancelled , they'll make another appointment for next week...

Sunny but windy day,, haven't noticed any snow flakes floating about.

Hubby is at the dentist,, he was told what ever is being done will take 2 hours!!
I suggested IF he is woozy/ dizzy after it to just set in waiting room till he feels better.

The pets & I have eaten lunch.

I think I'll try dumping what is in the Dyson's canister so I can 'try' to vacuum the rugs.
The canister comes apart without too much effort.
Once that happens & I see it inside part needs. clean,, that may end my cleaning plans.

Wow,,,,,, wind is howling around the window near my desk.
Expect sweeper dirt will blow around when,, I Try to empty the canister. !!

It's kind of an annoying day - started making calls at 8am. Dishwasher won't start, so likely the door latch is sloppy and needs replaced. It's 5 years old and probably averages 500 washes year, repairman called and appointment for later today. Repairman came and left, I ordered the parts!

Hotel reservations for a weekend in March in Boise straightened out. Need to call pistol instructor to get some range time w somebody that knows what they're doing. Need to call my buddy about a motorcycle trip in June to the Lost Coast and redwoods of N California. I need to get a part for one of my motorcycles which has been an ongoing issue for nearly a year now. The part is available and has been ordered! Also have teeth cleaning later today and dinner at my favorite restaurant w friends tonight.

This morning dropped off a new jar of instant coffee to the Lookout Lodge, and hid it away. Took one run and left.

Wx is gray w snow showers. The view SE from the top.

I emptied the cannister on my Shark today...if don't hold it right over the wheelie bin it would blow everywhere....

an update from my morning post
After my friend, Mary came to pick up her reading material, I started to walk towards the back driveway thinking Tim had shoveled& made a path to walk on. He only did a little bit, I wasn't happy and came back inside. I said to Celeste our wonderful adminstrative assistant' I'm not asking too much, all I want is a clear path to the back driveway so I can take a longer walk, Tim did not do this' She said' I'll put in a work order'.
This afternoon when the sun was out, notice he was out shoveling,so when I go out tomorrow morning I'll see if I can walk past the back driveway

@spectratg - I just now saw your post or would have said something earlier. Wishing you well. I'm sorry you're going through this, especially in bad weather.

I'm tired of being cooped up in the house since Friday. We're expecting to see 50°F tomorrow afternoon and clear streets, so I'll get out and take care of business. Will have a bunch of mail at the p.o. box and will probably have to add air to the tires before going anywhere; just hope the battery isn't dead. It has a year left, but I don't wait until a battery gets to the end.....I'll replace it very soon.

I hope everyone who has been forced to stay indoors due to the weather will get relief soon.

Hi Senior Forums friends. I am having outpatient back surgery, specifically "minimally invasive lumbar decompression," tomorrow, so I would appreciate good thoughts and prayers coming my way! I could have elected to have a steroid injection but, after doing the research, decided that the surgical option gets at the root cause of the problem, instead of just the symptoms. One of my daughters is coming over to take me in the single digit freezing temperatures to the surgical center; another daughter is taking care of my dog Maggie. I will go into the health care section at the continuing care retirement community where I live for 2-3 days. Thanks, Dennis.
Dennis hope it went well. My best wishes for your recovery! 🫂 🌹

I love taking pictures and like to share them as long as I don't get on your nerves by posting too many.

Right: My wife picks lemons in the garden to make home-made lemonade.

After ten days in Iceland, my daughter (left) finally saw the aurora borealis. Today she completed the 828 mile circle road trip around
the island, being now back in Reykjavik. She will come home this weekend. Copied from an iPhone picture she just sent via satellite.

Right: At 90 y/o I still work in the garden and change the oil on our cars.

I took these today since I didn't ski for very long. River Run Day Lodge, it's 1 of 2 base lodges. There is a 3rd lodge on the mtn at Seattle Ridge, that's absolutely magnificent. I'll get pics of that someday, it's a tourist hangout. The other on the mtn Lodge is Lookout, it's a dump, but it's my dump!

Native river rock forms the fireplace. There is everything one could possibly want in there, even showers but they are hidden from the tourists.
