Good morning, SF Peeps!

Cooler here today with a high only in the low 60s. We might even get a spot of rain this afternoon! Today I'll pick up my BFF from the train station and she'll spend the night. We've been friends for over 60 years so she and my visiting sister know and like each other quite well. It'll be a regular party today & tonight with DH, me, my sister and my BFF. 🎉👯‍♂️

well just had a visit from the county seniors supvervisor....and it was a good one
for me, the county I live in had been trying to reduce the benefits to seniors but
it backfired on them...according to new guidlines, I am now entitled to
two aides a month, 2 hrs per week, at NO cost out of pocket to me!~~!!so great
deal!!!!
 

I could be in this wound vacuum thingy for months. Months.
I think they can hook one up to a portable version eventually.

Don’t trust myself not to flip out one day with possible no coming back. Can only move side to side and sit up briefly from left side.

Don’t want to exist like this much longer. Calling for diaper changes when I pee or poop. Don’t have the patience

Maybe I’ll pretend a car hit me. The driver had no insurance and no money. In fact driver died behind wheel.

Talked to my daughter today. I wanted to know if she thinks she has street smarts. A resounding no! was the response. She has only ever lived in or near small towns, and a medium sized city. Now she's in Chicago. I'm going to look for a book on street smarts. She's gotta get some. She controlled bullies in high school who were mean to her friends by reminding them she has a black belt in karate, and threatening them. But she can't use that tactic on the streets. I think she should be a stay at home daughter and order in.

As for my life, nothing is happening. My car will be ready on Thursday (needs serpentine belt and alternator). I started to make dinner (took the ingredients out) and my son said he already ordered for us from Door Dash. I guess around 8:30 pm is too late to start dinner for some people! I like to eat later in the evening.

Tonight I am going to organize the kitchen and clean out the fridge. Organizing is not my gig -- I make it way too complex or maybe I'm missing the brain part that handles that. Right now there is too much stuff with nowhere to live. I've gotta get rid of the clutter. It's odd being a lousy organizer and hating clutter at the same time. And yes, I have read many organizing books and just last week acquired another one.

Is she in the town of Chicago or one of the others just outside of it. If you don't mind saying the name I may can ease your mind a bit if
another town. DH grew up in Oak Park but when talking to people he just calls it Chicago, since no one would know where Oak Park is.
That is why I am curious.
 
Morning all, it certainly felt like spring yesterday, the high was 44
When I woke up at 6:30 it was lightly snowing,temp was 32,will wait later for a walk
My plans today, taking Gates van at 8:45,going to Super Cuts, have a 9:15 appt. My hair is getting too long last time I was there was in Oct, just need a trim When I get back plan to take a walk around the building
The rest of my day read today's NYT, see what the lunch& dinner menu is offering

I'll be spending today with my Mom. She needs more and more attention and care these days.

Last week she fell on the ice (even though I told her to not go outside!), and ended up with two black eyes and a lot of bruises.

Yesterday, she went out for lunch with her lady friends. While at the restaurant, her chair broke right out from under her!!!! She said that she is OK, just more bruises.

Today, she wants to go to Wal-Mart....so, off we go!
 
A busy morning. Shoveled the driveway (I swear it gets 10 feet longer every time I have to shovel snow). Drove to my home heating fuel supplier's office to pay for a delivery from yesterday. Then went to the county seat to renew my driver's license (no problem). As long a I was there I went to Job Lots. Bought a few things to snack on, but they didn't have any dried cranberries.

Its coming up to 5pm now sun is starting to go down... when I say sun...I know there's one up there somewhere to go down.. but goodness knows when we'll see it...

I just got back from my Doctors appt... so that's one down another one to go...

Sorry to hear your mum has been in the wars @Trila ..just when you're recovering yourself.... how old is she ? ..I hope she's feeling better after her falls now that you've been with her... 🤗

The day has gone well. Two viewing appointments this morning, we are looking to buy a bungalow and now we have a buyer for our current home our attention is turned to a new home. Meeting up with the agent and the subsequent viewings took up the morning. Later, we had a coffee and a baguette at Aroma:

Our excitement over our house sale caused us to overlook my neice's birthday.
So, off to the florist, a beautiful bouquet, a greeting card and into the car.
She lives about twenty miles away. We spent a wonderful two hours with her
before heading home.
My wife is currently resting because we are off out to The Jazz Club this evening.

It's been like old times with the day being so busy, I don't want my lady over doing things, it's
reassuring to see her resting at present, Her closed eyes are not pretence for my sake. How do I
know? The hot drink that I made her has gone cold.
 
had an early call from hospital this morning,not gonna cut out the cancerous lump on my neck,i have to go in for another MRI scan,to see if it has spread anywhere else,seems the second biopsy came up with more concerns,its a lymph node under my chin,,then i will be refered to the blood chief,,,im getting a bit pissed with the speed they are going,not,they keep saying they need my blood pressure down,lol,,

Oh Good grief... come home Jet... get it done in England...🤗.. seriously this is disgraceful... cancer patients , any patients who have symptoms which could become terminal should always be at the top of the lst IMO...

so now they've told you there's more to be concerned about thatn they first thought, and they expect your BP not to go through the roof... just disgraceful!
 
I've just got home about 15 minutes ago... it's 10.40pm...pitch dark and raining...

I went out with 3 friends ... and I had to drive along the mortowway in the dark and rain, and I thought this is the time to try out my new Yellow lens prescription distance specs, that I bought a few weeks ago..and see if they do what they're supposed to do and stop the glare of oncoming headlights.

I am absolutely delighted to tell you that they work.... it was like stepping back 20 years or more when people didn't have those horrible flary wide scattering headlights that blind you.... it was almost a pleasure to be out in the dark and rain....

Also I noticed what they do as well, is make everything super sharp, because there's no street lamp reflection flares bouncing off the rain and puddles on the road...

I'm very happy with these yellow lenses..:love:
