I rushed all morning. Nurse and OT, and this was the last day for the nurse (until I get another order from doctor). PT is also on the schedule. I'll be at the park at some point with a friend who texted me because it's too nice a day to forgo a walk. My search for an aide is not going too well so far. One lead didn't work out when I called her this morning. Lots to think about with perhaps a live in situation being an option.

Car is in the shop. Finally. But why oh why does the mechanic take all day long for an oil change?

..so they can bump the labour charge no doubt !

Been raining and windy here all day. I took delivery of my new laptop.. I'm going to have to watch a youtube video if there is one on how to set it up, because it's Microsoft (windows).. and I'm only used to Macs...

It's 7.15pm here now, I'm gonna go in a minute and put some Ham shanks on to cook for dinner..

Just curious @hollydolly , why did you switch to Windows?

After we bought a new car, they moved their location to the other side of town. They kept us waiting hours for an oil change. Once we were given a courtesy drop off at a store and when we asked to be picked up a couple of hours later, they told us it would be over an hour. I went ballistic, something I very rarely do. To add insult to injury, they wanted us to give them a 5 star review. We now use a local mechanic.

I thoroughly cleaned and weeded the back brick patio today.
I do it in the spring then wait until the, what DH calls "the goobers" finish falling off the trees. They are soft fluffy things that fall and turn into dust. They get all over everything.
They're done so I got busy. Now I have a nice clean space there.

HI all went well yesterday, movers had me out of my apt in 1hr 1/2,appreciate all the well wishes for my move
I spent the rest of the day unpacking, get used to my new surroundings. The Spectrum tech came around 2:15 got all hooked up within 30 min. I had ordered my dinner when I was at lunch, had my 1st meal in my apt My friend Mary called asking how I was doing, 'just a tad tired' We are still going on our weekly 'road trips' tomorrow morning to Kohl's I need to get non skid bath mats. After dinner I continued to unpack, had a nice long hot shower. As I was watching TV, I started to doze around 9 was in bed at 9:30
This morning I didn't hear any birds, got up around 5 to continued unpacking. My early morning walk around 6:40 walked 1 long block to local co op{ am a member} to buy a couple items. It will be another day of unpacking but I am making good progress
I'm calling my move to Canterbury Woods-Gates for the next couple of months 'Camp Gates' considering in a few weeks kids will be off to summer camp in some parts of the country
@moviequeen1
May you have many happy years at "camp gates" ! Are you excited? I wish you the best. Take it easy unpacking. 🌹

Sitting here shaky, just damn near fell down on front porch
a bit ago......left foot just caught a board joint and tripped me
but I kept to my feet....still it shakes me..........😵‍💫
We have to watch how we step more closely now, Don. We have to make sure we pick up our feet. My broken wrist will attest to that !

Can someone smooth out that board joint for you?

Good for you, staying on your feet, I have to say!

~Reorganized stock in the living room & storage closet.

~Got rid of items that were in the storage closet that I no longer need

~Slept for about six hours straight during the day. Didn't even wake up after my son got home. Very unusual; I must have still been tired.

~Loaded the dishwasher late. I'll run it tomorrow morning.

~Fiddled with the computer, trying to find a way to change a setting I don't want. Finally just shut it down. Hope its back to normal when I turn it back on.

Quite windy here yesterday but we managed to get a lot of the garden rubbish taken off to the recycling centre in the morning. In the afternoon Mrs.L made a batch of rhubarb and ginger jam and I collected yet more rubbish to be dumped. This year we've been having problems with birds nesting in inconvenient places, but strangest of all, I found a small nest in amongst the sprout plants. Fortunately, the occupants had left.

If the weather stays dry, I'll net the mower going at cut the grass.

Like last night I only slept a few hours. My body is so tired, my mind is awake, although groggy. I have things to do today, my Book Club at three pm & I want to go. Hope this lack of sleep doesn't have bad cumulative effects, but how could it not? What's up with me that I can't sleep? Not worried about anything in particular, for a change.

Walking around in street when tired is dangerous. I'd better watch out.

I used to think all old people had dowager's hump. Nope. We walk hunched over because we're looking at our feet to make sure we don't trip on something.
Case in point 🥺 (although I don't consider myself old! 😁) I went out on the porch to get a package yesterday... stepped on an obviously too long pant leg with the other foot, tripped and very nearly fell back in the door head first. Guess I'd better shorten my pants! 👖

Good morning. It's downright cool here this morning, only 54.

DD and I are going Krogering this morning. The usual 10% off store brands and 4x fuel points. Gotta do it today because it's the last day of the month, and our fuel points for May are less than 10 cents off per gallon so far.

Other than that, I dunno what's on the docket.

We had a cold front move in last night. Had frost warnings for the gardeners. It was 37 degrees when I got up a couple of hours ago. It is okay with me. I am not crazy about hot weather and we had some hot days this past week. Now that everyone finally got their air conditioners installed (some people take them out for the winter but I do not) it has cooled down. It took the maintenance man forever to start installing them.

I will be walking to my hair appointment today. So I hope it stays cool.

I have been thinking about a banister at the front porch. Falling on brick steps would be painfu!
I've teetered a time or two.

@RadishRose my broken wrist has taught me to be more careful too!

@hawkdon glad you're ok! We all know we don't want to have a fall!
