Sitting here shaky, just damn near fell down on front porch
a bit ago......left foot just caught a board joint and tripped me
but I kept to my feet....still it shakes me..........😵‍💫
I'm glad you didn't fall. It's so easy to trip. I wonder if your county has a program where they can send out a handyman for free and you can get that step fixed. The County Department on Aging and Disability Services has a program in my area that will do that.

Another wet & windy day... I don't know that I can recall a May Holiday with such bad weather... however I personally don't mind it.... it means I can stay hunkered down, and as my back is still protesting loudly, it gives me a very good excuse not to do any heavy work in the garden.

Morning all....64deg F here, into 70's later, it rained overnite and
still getting sprinkles....will try to get to bank later this morning,
friend had a doc visit yesterday...feel okay, slept so-so...no big
deals otherwise,....and yes my almost fall is just another in a long line unfortunately...but make it a great day okay!!!! :giggle: ;)

Started cool but clear and now quite sunny. Chaotic morning here. Road closed at one end for drainage improvements: crossroad torn up for new drain tile placement underneath to increase storm sewer capacity I believe. Lots of big trucks carrying large-bore concrete tiles and excavation contraptions and such. Lots of "roar, roar, beep, beep, beep" going on.

As a result I can't use my usual route for walking, which runs to the Pine Lake Drain and over the bridge there and through the woods then up a hill and over to what once was Once Upon A Time the village business district.

Started mowing the back, tradesman showed up to clear away some tools and bracing left from a phase of chimney reconstruction. And so it goes.

Back from Krogering. Visited Sir while I was there, and guess what???? We have yet another new person. This new person might, just might, stay! I'm trying not to get too excited because we've been down this road before. She's 19 and very pretty. Sir said she'll finish her baking training with me starting next week, and I asked her if she's going to come in at 4am. She said "Sure. I'm willing." Okay, then!

Yanno what this means? Again, might, just might, mean than I can work my five hours without feeling guilty about leaving knowing that there's much more work to be done, and if she stays (🤞), there will be somebody there to do the dawn patrol shift while I'm off for when my eyes get carved on.

Guess what else? Cookie is off all next week. Been there a couple of months and already a week off? No pay, of course. Okay. I dunno if she was "talked" to or not. Didn't ask.

Did a bit of gardenkeeping. Deadheaded some flowers and transplanted a big shasta daisy to a spot that's more pleasing to my eye when I'm sitting on the teeny, tiny patio.

The small shop that I take my car to lets you wait while they change the oil and it doesn’t take that long. Even at big shops I have never left my car all day.
My mechanic is a cranky man. He has no waiting area (by design) but he does give me a loaner car and takes all day to do an oil change. Sigh. At least I have the loaner. I would rather go to the dealer though and sit for an hour in a nice lounge and be done with it.

I had a lovely surprise this morning,, had changed the sheet,, thinking about a nice shower.
When i started out of the bedroom thought I heard someone call 'helloooo?"

There was my friend that cuts my hair!
She had dropped her husband at the AM Legion,, they had saw my hubby heading out of town with load of wood.

We settled in for a nice chat while she gave me a hair cut.
She had cut her hair back to a stubble, preparation for hot weather.

She does 'coding ' in their upstairs ,, which gets hot.

Not sure if her husband was texting her that he was ready to leave ,, so she left.

I send hubby to get. a few things,, so I still got a shower.
Later we went to some yard sales most of them closed after noon- 1 o'clock.

Had TGS for the day today but not an overnight this time. Came at 7:45. We gave him breakfast, played a bit, then we were off to Costco Business Center. Home, gave him a little lunch, then he napped for 2-1/2 hours. He snacked, we played some more, then took a long walk through the neighborhood. He wanted to be in the stroller, so this walk was at a fairly brisk pace - when he wants to walk it takes 4 times as long because he stops to examine every bug he spies. 😎

When we came back he wanted a bath so I filled the kitchen sink (LOVE my big farmhouse sink) and he played in there for a while. Shortly after he was dried off and in fresh clothes, our son came by to pick him up, but lingered for a while so we had a nice visit with him. He left at 6:30.

For once I wanted to give a blow-by-blow of how my day goes when TGS is here. I adore him and love our time together. ❤️

~Did some accounting for my son and me.
~Mopped in the storage closet, bathroom and bedroom.

~Continued getting rid of items that were in the storage closet that I no longer need and finally put everything back into the closet after figuring out the best arrangement.

~Took Lyfts to and from my PCP’s office. BP was a bit high.

Like last night I only slept a few hours. My body is so tired, my mind is awake, although groggy. I have things to do today, my Book Club at three pm & I want to go. Hope this lack of sleep doesn't have bad cumulative effects, but how could it not? What's up with me that I can't sleep? Not worried about anything in particular, for a change.

Walking around in street when tired is dangerous. I'd better watch out.
Not being able to sleep seems to be in epidemic proportions these days Pepper! Lack of sleep absolutely has cumulative effect but hopefully your body (and mind) will do like mine. I get to the point, like yesterday, when I slept like a rock for 6 hours during the though it was not in my plans to do so. Like the commercial says "Thanks, I needed that!" Most of the time my sleep comes in the form of naps...not the best sleep habit and it caught up with me. I can count on reading, eating and even watching TV when I'm tired to put me to sleep. Hope you can get your proper rest real soon.

Reminds me of when I was 19 and got a job cooking breakfast at Holiday Inn at Myrtle Beach. Had to be there at 4 AM to start. I overslept the first day!!! I apologized profusely to the older lady I was to work with and I was never late again.
We became friends and she gave us a brown baked bean pot for a wedding present. I think maybe because I was from New England (Boston Baked Beans).
Anyway, thanks for the memories! 😊

Someone hit and knocked over our mailbox while we were away. The neighbor did a temporary fix.
It was old which is likely why it broke in half.
Yesterday DH replaced the whole thing with a nice new mailbox and post. He attached a nice garden flag pole in front. I ordered a small flag that says "Pardon the weeds, We're feeding the bees". The yard is full of tall dandelion looking flowers. 🏵 Time to mow.

@hollydolly After so many days of not going out and about, maybe your back/knees will be rested enough that you can go out to play in the sunshine tomorrow.

My last day of freedom  and tonight it'll be back to bed while it's still light out:cry:. I liked being on firefly watch.

However, Monday and Thursday are my regular days off, and that hasn't changed so I only work one day, then a day off. That will help ease me back into my usual schedule.

Gotta do some laundry...all those grubbies I made grubbier in the garden all week.

If I'm lucky, DD won't insist on dragging me hither and yon today. She'll ask if I want to ride along when she needs to go somewhere, then think of a gazillion other things she "might as well" do while we're out, taking forfreakingever instead of an hours or so.

I have so much to bear like dying soon as well as my best baby. No on here has cared much or at least shown it. I could name names but but it's all your choices and I wish well to you. I guess your emotions may say something but I don't know really. I guess most especially @hollydolly would like to see me dead. Just for being Me!! 🙏 Praying for you all for you need it.
@Ruthanne

Please share with us what you are going through. No one can know or guess what you feel unless you tell us. I am assuming your pet is having health problems, as well as yourself.

Thinking of you, and sending positive thoughts and wishes your way.
