Today I’m cleaning some green onions I planted .I got them just before they flowered. A bit late but better late than never.

They are HUGE!

I’m also planting one more petunia in my last big pot, which will leave me with 7 colourful pots of planters put around our house.

I bought some organic weed killer from Amazon that’s 6 times stronger than using regular white vinegar. I used some on the weeds at the side of the house and within an hour they started shrivelling up and dying. Killing anything isn’t something I enjoy doing but these weeds just flourish and I can’t keep picking them out like I have been. The weed killer is 100% organic AND safe for the dogs.

@Pepper. I’m soooo happy to read that you are feeling better. Your posts seem to reflect that. I’ve been sending healing thoughts your way.

DD just came home from picking up a few things from Publix. One of the things is a pork tenderloin. "You don't have to if you don't feel like it, but would you mind cooking this for dinner?" LOL! It's marinating as we speak.

She forgot one little detail. It's a school night for me so bedtime at around 6. In any case, not eating a big meal right before bed. So they'll get tenderloin and scalloped potatoes. I'll just have a bowl of ice cream around 5:30🍨:)

@GG,, This morning I looked out & saw 4 or 5 doe in the back field.
Some were small but not fawns, no spots.

Later after Mac terrorized the birds in the blueberries,,,,,, they found a hole & got in but wouldn't get out using it.

Township was using a large tractor, trimming the brush along the road,, saw a fawn dashing from its hiding place.

yes I agree... I like it cool to get the work done given that we don't have AC in our homes generally speaking... but apart from a few days of 75 deg temps.. we've now got to the middle of June, and it's like Autumn. It's windy , overcast and the high is 58 today... what is going on ? I wish I'd been forewarned of this and I would have made plans to fly off to warmer climes for a week. I hope it all improves for next month for my staycation at the coast , the first time I will have taken a break in the UK in 30 years..
Fingers crossed the weather will improve by next month 🤞 As long as it is dry and warmish, you should have a good time just being away for a few days.

It's warming up here - today it's supposed to reach 82. I snipped this so you can see how the overnight marine layer is cool and humid - 59° and 87%. I use powerful fans to bring that air in overnight through early morning. Come early afternoon I close up the house and it stays cool enough that there's no need for AC this time of year.

When today's afternoon heat arrives the humidity will have dropped considerably - in today's case to 42%. In August it will be drier still, but also hotter.

Yanno, those people on the murder shows don't watch enough TV. If they did, they wouldn't do stupid stuff like leave their phones, DNA, driver's licenses and other stuff behind and tell their friends or relatives that they killed somebody, or ask three or four different people if they'll kill somebody for money.

If they'd just watch more murder shows, they'd know not to make those mistakes.

No plans, no achievements. Taking the day as it unfolds.

Curious?: Anyone else feels (and lives) this way?
Not casting stones, I've been there myself and might even be moving back into it. I think shifting into life that feels more "full" requires getting up and taking one step and then another each day in that direction.

That's not a value judgement. It's your own business. Some might label it "depression" but labels can be less than productive and even become barriers.

Who decides what is "full"? The same mind that says, "might even be moving back into it"? ;)

This mind contains all the attributes and their opposites at the same time.

It'd make plans and never make them come to fruition (as originally envisioned). It talks of achieving and having achieved or not achieved, creates new goals to be achieved without enjoying any joy from the previously achieved goals. Always unsatisfied. Always asking for new plans and new goals. Never rests.

This is why Meditation has always been recommended for the mind. To get some rest from its chaoticity.

If you had a friend that drove you "nuts" like your own mind, would you trust such a friend? ;)

(The question is a rhetorical one. Only meant as vehicle for reflection, contemplation, or mediation.)

Thank you.

In 1984 my daughter was a little under a year old. It was late evening and we were watching "Dallas" so I know it was a Friday night. Anyway, DH & I were on the couch and she was playing on the floor between us. Completely unprovoked, our dog bolted over to her and bit her on the face. Just missed her eye, but left a nasty wound on her cheek.

I called my GP of 15 years standing (he was also my OB and pediatrician). His service had him call right back. He told me to not bring her to the ER because the legal paperwork for a dog bite was a nightmare, but to come to his house and gave me directions. He laid her out on their pool table and with the assistance of his wife (a nurse) stitched her up right there and then. No bill, no waiting, no drama.
I should add that DH had a beer with them (I was driving so had a soda) after she was done being stitched up.

An update from my morning post, maintenance guy, Luis came this morning to put up my pictures, mirrors. he also brought a toilet seat enhancer, before the seat was really low& I had trouble getting up. What a difference no problems now getting up with the handles

We went to a garden center in Eire today.

Had hopes of finding a 'snowball bush'.
Does anyone know the shrub I'm taking about?
Probably has a Latin name?

We were pleased to find early strawberries , dark cherries, asparagus & peaches.
I wandered past all the flower hunting for a snowball bush.
Did find one small bush of another plant I was looking for.

Will plant it where I hope the lawn mower won't chop it off.

We looked at azaleas,, everyone on our street has them,, so I passed on them.
Same with roses, lovely to look at,, but no thanks.

On drive to & from in & out of rain.

IF the rain holds off this evening I'll be out planting.
I do remember those. They get large and somewhat unwieldy, is that right?
Very much worth any efforts needed, as I remember them. Wonderful. Probably need a space with room around it, for its future?

I hope yours does well in the spot you chose! It's fun to watch a shrub grow and develop, each year, especially one that blooms.

The tenderloin was good. I had a spoonful of scalloped potatoes and one little medallion of the tenderloin. Not really enough time between dinner and bedtime so that's why I ate so little.

Gotta take my meds, unwind and hope to high heaven that I can (1) sleep as well as when it's not a school night and (2) bite my tongue tomorrow (especially if nobody bothered to set up for me).

Being home with nothing to do is depressing. Having to go to work the next day is more depressing. I just want to color myself gone.

ETA: @VaughanJB I agree with Trish. It wouldn't surprise me if you have Covid. Take care. Lots of rest and stay hydrated.

@moviequeen1 I wanna live at Camp Gates!

Things definitely feel like that, sometimes, as you describe, in that post, this evening.
I hope that after some rest and sleep, you'll feel a bit (inexplicably) uplifted, tomorrow. It happens sometimes, even when we can't figure why.

I've thought of all of you, in between my posts here; I hope you all realize that.

In between the challenging symptoms and daily medical issues, and appointments on some days, I do bits of helping each day, with laundry, or food prep, or with organizing, or with figuring out details, bills, or giving medical guidance to DH.

I got outdoors, twice recently, to sit in the yard, and mostly point to where small plants might be planted.
We have some wonderful ones that we can now watch out our window, as they grow.(y)
The peonies are in beautiful bloom!

We both enjoy that.

There are a lot fewer wild birds in the vicinity, than previous years, but I am still very glad to see the occasional cardinals, especially male adults feeding the young, and gradually teaching the fledglings how to live on their own.
Apparently, no one needs to teach or instruct the adult male cardinals to do that.;)
