I have a 2 bedroom condo and my dryer is in my guest bedroom. My bathroom is too small to put it there. My washer is in the hallway outside my bathroom and if I put the dryer on a rack on top of it I wouldn’t be able to open the washer lid all the way and it’s outside my bedroom door so would be claustrophobic.I've put the washing on... I like to get it done while we have dry warm weather so I can get it hung out to dry since my dryer broke down last month.
I was concerned about space for the dryer in the compact kitchen in the apartment I spoke of.. because there is no space for it.. and both my DD and the agent suggested I put it in the Spare bedroom..well there's no way I want a TD in a bedroom.. ..so really this is another thing that is putting me off the place..but I had a lightbulb moment.. and I googled and found that there is a Laundrette within two hundred yards of the flats ...so that could be my solution..
the bathroom in the apartment I'm interested in is large , and is also a wet room... and could easily accommodate the dryer..however here in the UK we're not allowed to have electricity sockets ..aside from shaver sockets..in our bathrooms..I have a 2 bedroom condo and my dryer is in my guest bedroom. These condos were built with laundry rooms but I prefer my own but you have to be creative. I couldn’t move a large piece of furniture in and out of my bedroom without disconnecting my washer. I’m fine with that.
someone will come up with it in a minute I"m sure...Aw, thanx, guys. Do keep in mind that this pic was taken 35 years ago...jussayin
Remind you of someone? Can't think of anybody famous who I've been told I look like![]()
There’s been a few times that has happened but we have kept posting and cleared it up. It’s easy when posting to do that. When I am talking to someone it doesn’t happen. It’s weird how our last few years have been the same.I didn't know we did misunderstand each other..yes I think maybe when all is said and done..ripping myself away from the familiar, and all the people I know here.my neighbours who I've known for 45 years... everything familiar in my house.. except for a few things.. a brand new clean start , with no memories of him at a different property and of course different area.. will do me good..
After all how much time do I have left.. may be 10 years maybe 20 .. maybe even less.. time for me to find somewhere where I'm not sitting rotting until I die..
That’s a bummer. In the states a bathroom is a common place for washers and dryers.the bathroom in the apartment I'm interested in is large , and is also a wet room... and could easily accommodate the dryer..however here in the UK we're not allowed to have electricity sockets ..aside from shaver sockets..in our bathrooms..
yes I know but in the US your electricity is of a much lower voltage than ours which is 240V..yours 120vThat’s a bummer. In the states a bathroom is a common place for washers and dryers.
this is the truth of it.. altho' I only live 20 miles outside of London.. ( if I go 2o miles in the other direction it takes me 20 minutes) because we're so congested traffic wise, it can take forever to get into the city and then there's the congestion charge, and the huge parking costs and so on.. I could also get the train in..but again prices are high, and I don't necessarily want to be on tubes and trains at night...so hopefully living in the ity and very close 2 2 Tubes stations, it'll be much easier for my social life. There’s been a few times that has happened but we have kept posting and cleared it up. I considered buying my ex out of the house but we bought and remodeled it together. Plus I think there’s a time to hit the easy button in life. I love to entertain and now 6 people is the maximum that is comfortable here. Plus living in London will give you access to lots of things to do.
Wow! I love this photo of you and your hubby with Phil Donahue @Georgiagranny
I have it right now, my first time. My emotions are running away because, I think, I don't know what to expect. I was feeling better yesterday but then all the symptoms can back last night. Coughing all night,, eyes, itchy, red and nonstop watering. Full on sneezing and blowing. This is the start of the third week. You know something weird about this round of Covid? (I've only had it once before) My emotions have been affected; I cry at the drop of a hat.
Anyone else have that when you had Covid?
I didn’t know that. After having to use the laundry room for 2 years I was sick of it. It cost me 2400k for the washer hookup, since you can’t vent a dryer outside in this building it vents into a bucket of water. These are apartment sized appliances so more expensive than regular appliances and they cost 1100. I probably have more laundry than you because of my 2 little dogs.yes I know but in the US your electricity is of a much lower voltage than ours which is 240V..yours 120v
That’s awful blessed. Luckily I only had it for 8 days.,I have it right now, my first time. My emotions are running away because, I think, I don't know what to expect. sneezing, itching, watering eyes..?..doesn't sound like covid, sounds like an allergy...I have it right now, my first time. My emotions are running away because, I think, I don't know what to expect. It is covid, tested positive......Yea, I didn't expect the eye thing but Mr. Google says it can settle in your eyes and cause a problem.sneezing, itching, watering eyes..?..doesn't sound like covid, sounds like an allergy...![]()
yes does look like her...for sure..
Our washers are 120, dryers usually 240. When I lived in a townhouse, I had a tiny 120 dryer that didn’t vent outside. I’d roll it out of the closet. Not perfect. I used a wooden drying rack part of the time.the bathroom in the apartment I'm interested in is large , and is also a wet room... and could easily accommodate the dryer..however here in the UK we're not allowed to have electricity sockets ..aside from shaver sockets..in our bathrooms..
You and @CinnamonSugar are having prolonged suffering. Have you seen a doctor? You may be having a secondary problem.I have it right now, my first time. all of our electricity is 240volts... which means an electric kettle will boil from full in about 60 -90 seconds..Our washers are 120, dryers usually 240. Is there a possibility of separating part of the bathroom into another room that technically allows a plug.
I have called the doctor, she says, just ride it out. Cough syrup, cough drops, tylenol for fever. If I had a real high fever or trouble breathing call her back. You and @CinnamonSugar are having prolonged suffering. Have you seen a doctor? You may be having a secondary problem.
That was more or less our situation when we lived in Goodmayes. Ilford that was once bright and thriving, had become shabby and run down. We found travelling the opposite way to Romford much better for shopping and recreation. We still went into the West End for shows, dancing and an occasional shopping trip, but as you pointed out, public transport, (does the number 25 still run to Victoria?) congestion charge and parking costs, are all but prohibitive.this is the truth of it.. altho' I only live 20 miles outside of London..
