How old is DD and is she DH's DD or a step?DD and DH just cannot get along. It's sad. She and boyfriend came, used the rest room, then proceeded to the living room to look at childhood picture albums. DH was in the sunroom. I sat in the kitchen but went back and forth as they smiled at baby pics.
They came out, sat at the table with me. I expressed my irritation with their planning. They apologized. Life went on with small talk then they got up to leave. They went to the sunroom to say goodbye and get their shoes.
DH was sooooo upset that they just pretty much ignored him after freezing up most of his afternoon. He expressed it. They left upset.
Guess we won't have to worry about that again. They won't be back I'm sure.
You ever decide to stand up and not be a doormat but end up looking like the bad guy? Yup. That's what happened.
I have never carried a smartphone or any cameras into such events although am always seeing subjects that would make great photos. Often will hand finger frame. Might do so some day that would take some thought and planning. My landscape and nature work has always been carefully tripod mounted, never handheld, though have used compact digital cameras handheld for informational subjects for years. In this era ideally, such cultural events are better captured using advanced hi end smartphones and in any case there is not much reason to ever need higher resolution than fits on online social media. Or one might use a high end zoom lens compact camera like the Sony RX100.Did you get any photos David ?..I'd love to see some...![]()
shame, because I have always been a fan of your photographic work...... this is a world where photos are taken by just about everyone.. including myself. I always carried my Fuji Camera everywhere I went until I got my Iphones.. and now I have it ready at all times in my pocket when I'm out...I have never carried a smartphone or any cameras into such events although am always seeing subjects that would make great photos. That's so sad, CS. Not enough patients! They'll be sorry in time but by then she'll have gotten a better position.well now...
today has started off as the Mondayest Monday in the history of Mondays...
My RN daughter was informed this AM (with no lead up or any mention previously) that her last day on the job is 9/20-something... boss cites "low patient census" and she's "the last full time RN to be hired" (so hence the first to go).
Of course, she's devastated. And I'm trying really hard to keep a clear head and avoid bitterness in my heart but I admit I'm gobsmacked and walking around like I'm in a daze. I know things will work out but you couldn't come up with some alternatives (part-time, PRN)? wow, just wow.
OMG...are you kidding ?... It' hard for me to get my head around this in a country that is desperately short of nurses...well now...

A slow day today - had TGS from Sat AM-Sun late afternoon so in a bit of recovery mode.My fridge is still loaded with fresh produce plus all other necessities from last week's shopping so no need to run out for anything.
Hoping all have a great day!
They haven't spoken. DH did call BF and apologized to him. He got caught in the middle.at 41 ... she's almost middle aged.. did she attempt to speak to her dad ?.. not judging...
Is that legal to only give 11 days notice, when the position is not ending because of cause. I vaguely remember that your DD worked in the ER and was feeling burned out there. Maybe I’m mixing her up with someone else. There must be a shortage of RNs somewhere. I feel for her and you.My RN daughter was informed this AM (with no lead up or any mention previously) that her last day on the job is 9/20-something...
it's 2 weeks notice they gave her... I just couldn't remember the exact finish date.Is that legal to only give 11 days notice, when the position is not ending because of cause. think how lucky you are ((Gigi)).. you have your big garden.. you have your cat.. you live on your daughters' property so your family right there... some of us live alone with none of those things....Poor, pitiful me. I'm lonely and bored and wish it would hurry up and get dark so I can go to bed
.
It's probably the lack of a job. I feel so...um...unnecessary.
There has been times that at 7 o'clock I'm asking, "Is it too early to go to bed?"Poor, pitiful me. I'm lonely and bored and wish it would hurry up and get dark so I can go to bed

Oh I am happy to hear that, HL. Peace in the valley!DH and DD had a nice phone call. Cleared a lot of things up including better communication so all is ok. Relief.
We'll all sleep better tonight.![]()
