That's illegal I'm told!
Hughesnet's plans have a maximum data allowance at high speed. Then after that is reached is slows it down a lot. It is to get you to buy tokens for megabytes of data, or go with a more expensive plan. They have unlimited high speed but that is out of our price range. So, it is legal because we agree to the plan. I am sure that anyone throttling your service without your consent is illegal. Don't you love the word "throttle"!? Not! Sounds threatening.

Thanks for explaining. :coffee:

It is so crowded on the internet right now I can't play video's of songs on here! We have satellite internet. Medium strength and we get "throttled" within 5 days of our monthly plan. It's only the 6 th day since it was reset. This sucks...but it teaches me patience.

I used to have a similar setup and it was frustrating when it slowed down.

I ended up rationing my time online to make it through the month.

As we move forward with green living, global warming, etc… we may end up in an age of shortages where we all learn patience and rationing on many things that we’ve come to take for granted.

Hi, kids. It's gonna be sunny and cool here again today. We may not reach 80. I can handle it!

According to DD, there's a trip to the garden center in the cards this morning. DGD probably won't go along, though, so I don't know who's going to be the Adult in Charge.

We may need your thoughts and prayers💭🙏 LOL

It's cold here, this morning (mid 40's). Too cold for me! I don't have my winter clothes out yet, so Goob almost didn't go for a walk this morning. Luckily for him, I was able to easily get a stocking hat out....so we went for a VERY short walk. I still froze, wearing shorts and a flannel shirt. But he was happy to go, so that means that I has happy to take him! 😁

We have a sunny day, and the temp is expected to get into the upper 80's. (around 32°C)

My mind is feeling ambitious and has a long list of things to accomplish today....we'll see just how willing the body goes along with that idea!

Glorious sunny morning.. after a whole night of storms which blew all my power, so I had to mess about with everything this morning getting it all going again...

pretty annoyed the rain came in the night because it forecast rain for during the day, which meant I cancelled my planned trip to the Steam engine rally...

I had a late night so I'm feeling pretty tired today... drinking copious amounts of tea to try and keep alert..

@hollydolly Sorry you cancelled your trip today. I hate when the weather interferes with what I wanna do!

Trip to garden center accomplished without too much damage to the pocketbook. DGD did go along, and was definitely the Adult in Charge thank goodness.

Right now cinnamon rolls are being baked on DD's side of the house. They are having mimosas with theirs; I'll have coffee because a mimosa would make me useless until later this afternoon.

It's so nice and cool, and the a/c is off again. The past few days it's been off during the day and only on at night so that it's cool enough indoors to sleep.

Well as it's turned out, it's a good thing I didn't go to the Steam Rally.. it;s absolutely torrential rain at the moment. Lightening.. and thunder... 🌩️⛈️🌩️⛈️..doubtless i'll have another power cut . Thankfully I have surge protector plugs on all of my electronics which protects them from being blown up if lightening strikes, but it doesn't stop them from being cut off in a power failure, and I always worry that the computer being unceremoniously cut off like that will cause it great damage
I really can't tell you how heavy this is..it's like a Monsoon and the forked lightening is so close it feels like it's actually coming in the window.. and I think we're in the eye of the storm because the thunder is directly over head.. only 2 seconds between the thunder and the lightening striking...

Hi gang!!!! I am very slow checking in today, oh well....I'm here
I guess that counts....it was 45deg this morning, brrrrrr. got a flannel shirt on over my normal t-shirt....should get to mid 70's
today....wish we would get a bit of rain tho, its getting very dry./...no major plans for the day, still need to go out and
get some limbs up to a pile somewhere...oh, the fox is a no-show for over a week now....not sure why, maybe he found
better hot dogs somewhere LOL.....

Had one of those rare nights when I had a great sleep. I‘m ready to accomplish something, though I don’t know which things on the list. I need to wander around the front of the house and see if something is broken. We heard a crashing sound like something falling over. It was 8:30 so we both investigated and found nothing.

Adding. Mystery solved on the crashing sound last night. We’d checked everywhere except in the shower. A hook came off, crashed and bounced taking the squeegee with it.

Yesterday had a terrific time at the art/food/music outdoor street festival mentioned in my previous post. Spent my first hour walking the full long boulevard with all the arts and crafts that was amazing. The city of Mountain View with such corporate residents as Google, is a very wealthy city so attracts top art folks. All food and drinks tended to be double digit $$.

Then within a lively crowd, greatly enjoyed freestyle dancing 2 hours to the last band, The Megatones that began with its usual cover of ACDC's powerful You Shook Me All Night Long but then due to the mixed A to Z crowd played more of its less rowdy Classic Rock covers like Steely Dan etc.

This afternoon will be back for two long experienced Classic Rock cover bands with long song lists, The Hitman and The House Rockers. Another sunny day with max temps to about 80F.

@hawkdon Maybe your fox found fine dining somewhere else? Yippee for getting out and not face planting!

@hollydolly I know what you mean about the power outages during storms. I'm always afraid that the computer will die an awful death, never to be revived. Probably an irrational fear, but still... It's a good thing you didn't go to the Steam thing. Your car might have needed water wings to get home.

I didn't feel like doing much this morning so I didn't. Cinnamon rolls, nap, watched some TV and fell asleep again, got up about an hour ago and raked more blankety-blank leaves out of the flowers. There are mountains more to be raked another day.

There are still this morning's snapdragons to plant, but they can wait until tomorrow. And seeds. There are columbine and coneflowers to get started so that they'll come up in the spring. Also have some johnny-jump-ups to plant...they're winter flowers here. I think the forget-me-nots just got worn out after all these years and will plant more of those so they'll bloom in the spring.

The weather was so lovely this morning, it seemed weird after the storm last night but, we too had rain this afternoon although not thunder.

yes I know the rain during the night was very heavy , and so I was a bit put out this morning when the sun shone because I'd cancelled my trip to Cambridge because they'd forecast rain for the daytime...... but then at around 4pm.. the heavens opened and the rain was worse than a Gota Fria in Spain... in 10 minutes the road was flood, and the lightening storm would have been worth watching if it had happened in the dark but during the day it's quite scary...

It lasted about 2 hours...

isn't amazing how loud something is , regardless of how small it is if it falls into the bath ?:D
