Awww...so sweet of you to check on me GG❣️ I posted in this thread yesterday and in others as well. How is your eye doing? Much better, I hope! BTW...did you have one done or both?
Hm. How did I miss your posts? Maybe eye surgery wasn't as successful as I thought! LOL

Had both done and have been liberated from EyeDrop Prison. I can do anydamnthang I wanna, including gardening. So I have done anydamnthang I wanted to. I can see (except your posts yesterday!) and only need readers for some new books.

It's weird after wearing glasses for nearly 50 years not having to wear them now. I get up in the morning and reach for...oh...nope...no glasses.

I know exactly what you mean. I wore glasses since I was 9 or 10. I didn't have both eyes done at the same time so had to wear glasses a little longer after the right eye was done in 2005. After getting the left one done and being able to see 20/20, I went crazy buying fashionable sunglasses. :D And yes, readers too. It was liberating, especially since I use to wear what people referred to as "coke bottle bottomed" glasses. They did not enhance my appearance.

I tried hard and soft contacts, but couldn't stick with either. Then of course, after being diagnosed with glaucoma and having to put the drops in often, contacts were out of the question anyway. I am wearing glasses again, but can finally wear metal frames with thin lenses, so you can hardly tell lenses are in the frames (until they get dark). I also still have to use 3 drops in my left eye but none in the right. It was recommended by both my optometrist and opthalmologist that I use Systane Ultra at least once daily to combat dry eyes.

Since you are enjoying y our new found visual freedom, I hope you are also now pain free GG. 🤗

Cry me a river. It was 115° here yesterday and promises to be roughly the same today. The weather gurus are saying it will be dropping back to a much more comfortable 85° by Weds. Not wanting to wish my life away, but Weds can't come soon enough for my taste.

DH has to go out for a few hours for a business errand. While he's gone I'm planning to scrub the shower soak the bottom with a bleach solution for half an hour or so. The shower has a bumpy tile floor with a center drain, so soaking it is an almost impossible task. I'll lay down the silicone stopper and cover it with a glass bowl so the stopper doesn't float off when I put in the water and bleach. 🤞

There have been some power outages nearby, so I'm being extra careful to use my appliances during off-peak hours. Started a load in the washer early yesterday morning and let it soak until this morning, when I finished the cycle, then put it in the dryer for 10 minutes to pull out the wrinkles and hung it up.

Started the next load while that was in the dryer (around 5 AM today) and will finish that one early tomorrow morning. With this heat, everything dries very quickly when draped on the drying rack or hung from the pole in my garage (home of my laundry area).
Oh my! You poor soul. 115! That’s outrageous! I’m so sorry.hopefully you’ll have a few showers a day and stay inside. Thinking of you Starsong!

Today was a good day.
This morning I did an hour of Tai Chi on my own in the park. Then the Friday group that I lead arrived and we did an hour. A quick lunch in town then I went my Tai Chi teacher's house for a 2 hour 1-2-1 session. Lots to work on :)

Came home and went for a 'quick nap.' Woke up 2 hours later feelong like someone had run me over with a truck!

In amongst all that Wifey went into the City with our youngest daughter (Likkle Grandson's Mummy) and they both had their hair cut / done / stuff as it may be a while as Likkle Grandaughter is due any day!!!

At sundown I took myself off 2 towns away to pick up some groceries.. not much. Just a gallon of milk, some other bits for the freezer .. and decided that being as I was so close to the Chinese Take-away, I'd get myself some Chinese food for dinner..

This was around 7pm.. most people of course ring their order in, and pay for it when they come to collect...so tonight while I waited for my food which I ordered in house... I watched as no more then 60 seconds passed before people came to collect, or the phone rang and she took orders.

In the 15 minutes I waited , it was very busy, I would say that at least 20 people came to collect, and the phone rang at least 6 or 7 times with orders.. and not one person's bill was less than £70.!!

No-one seemed in any way bothered by the price... and I know I shouldn't judge.. but I have to tell you there wasn't one slim person who came to collect orders.. everybody was Obese.. not just overweight.. but huge!!

My order was just one thing, sweet and sour Prawn balls .. cost £7.00

Went out for a few basic groceries; bread, eggs, coffee, ice cream, fresh pineapple, ground beef, ketchup and a large Spanish onion.

Very cool morning, mostly overcast, may rain overnight. The last few days were just perfect.

Ran into roadwork going through downtown. I was amazed to see 2 large apartment buildings almost finished in the empty lot where the mall used to be. I never go through there on my way to anything as a rule.

I'm thinking of how it might be to rent one of them. The ground floors are all future shops and offices. Big medical center in the back, brand new. Police station, fire dept and Town Hall across the street diagonally. Also a few lunch places across the street.

Then again, if I sell my condo, I'll lose the woods and the quiet road for busy streets. A lot to think about and it has to be a given than a small doggie would be welcome. Oh, too much to think about!

@hollydolly, I hadn't realized I was giving the impression I was down. Though I guess there are things weighing on my mind (finances, family, health--none earth-shaking, just niggling bothersome).
It was because you said your get up and go had gone.. and usually there's only one reason for that, so I guessed.

I hope things pick up for you and everything gets on an even keel again.. 🤗

I received a twenty dollar coupon from Talbots yesterday so off to the outlet stores today. I got two nice slub tees and a pair of crop jeans. They were summer clearance so I got all three for just under $30.
I've switched closets for fall and my end of winter clearance I got last year is ready to go. 😊

Oh I *love* Talbots!! Classic

Sweep kitchen & 1/2 this room,, then in comes hubby with saw dust floating around him.
So much for keeping the house tidy.

I decided to cook up old venison, steaks, ground meat for Mac's meals.
Added veggies & beans,.
Waiting for it to cool enough so I put in containers & freeze.

Had a little rain past thorough.
More rain , wind & hail is forecast about 5.

We are located 1,000 ft above the "Inland Empire" valley floor. In summer we are often five degrees higher than the valley floor, while in winter we are always colder than down in the valley, where the TV News temperature readings are made. Right now it's hot, but it did not break the record of 119.8 degrees in the shaded patio. I have three outside temperature readings, and they all agree.

yesterday 115.5, and ....................................................................................today 116.6 degrees with humity at 9%

Even though the house has a reasonable temperature, the pups prefer to sleep on cool tiles rather than on their dog beds

I go hiking with my pups at sunrise, and again walking around the block after it's dark and cooler

Because of the LA area's diverse landscape, TV weather forecasts are alwas for 7 areas or more, depending on the TV station:
LA, Orange County, San Fernando Valley, Inland Empire, the Coast, the High Desert, and the Mountains. https://ktla.com/weather/#tab_8

I cannot decide whether to go to the Steam engine rally this weekend. ..just because I can't get a definitive answer as to whether it will rain or not in that region. It's a good hour and a half drive from here.. and if I'm going to not be caught up in a long queue at the entrance I need to be there by around 10am... either tomorrow or Sunday... I'm just not convinced it's not going to rain.

Every time I look it say it will rain.. then it says it will be cloudy and no rain, I'm not going to risk going all that way just for it to start raining when I get there..

Is there an indoor alternative close by in case you get there and it looks like rain?

Is that the steam rally held in conjunction with the heritage Swanage Railway? It's on all over this weekend. It's always a great excuse for showing off the old MG, for which I get free entrance. But we are off to an afternoon, into the evening jolly at our friend's place. We are celebrating an 80th birthday. I just love the way that they have planted out their patio.
