This week-end is our yearly arts festival that takes place in the parks that are within walking distance of my apartment. It is a big deal here and there will be a lot of people here for it. They started setting it up yesterday and will be working on it again today. I will probably go to the parks to people watch. A lot of activity going on.

Spending today picking up grandson on his second day of first grade! Then, taking him to his ninja class, then staying for dinner. Going home in the cold winter DARK. Hate dark. Hate AccessARIDE. LOVE MY GRANDSON, so the torture is worth it.

Obviously doing something wrong when I post a pic. Oh, well. It's twice as nice? LOL.

The only difference between this chair and the one I saw in the store is that the store's chair had a loose back cushion and a fixed seat cushion. This one has a fixed (and tufted) back and a loose seat cushion. And big difference in price.

It's going to be a nice day, probably mostly cloudy and cool but not likely any rain. There are a few gardening things I can do if I get around to it.

Supper tonight might be Mexican potato soup...because I feel like it. Our high temp today is supposed to be only 75 so it's feeling like a soup day. It also feels like something apple-y. Maybe a dump cake. Spice/apple pie filling? Just not pumpkin anything.

For almost a wek now, we've been getting a yellow warning about Torrential rain , the 'next day''... yet it's never happened.

It kinda ruins plans for going anywhere.. very annoying.

Again today it was supposed to rain.. but again nothing. It;s a pleasant enough looking day.

I wanted to go to a Steam Rally tomorrow.. which is about an hour and a half drive from here.. but yesterday they said it will rain there , so I decided to go Sunday instead.. ( it's on for 2 days)... but no today now.. they say there will be no rain tomorrow, but it will rain on Sunday.! 😖

Who do you believe?.. The steam rally would be a disaster in the rain as it's held in a Huge Field...

I was walking the dog this morning, and I spotted a squirrel running along the ground. He bounced on to a tree, paused for a bit, and then ran up it. At that moment another squirrel, that was already in the tree, shot up a few branches, I guess in surprise.

Now I don't speak squirrel, but let me tell you, a real argument took place. The displaced squirrel was NOT happy. It sort of barked, had an upright tail, and it went on and on and on. I was standing there for 5 minutes, and this argument was still going on when I left. I guess even creatures in nature can have a bad day. :D

That is either a quite small chair or a quite large cat. Perhaps a little of both? In any case, it's very sharp. Glad it's comfy. Will MC tend to claw at the arms or is that not part of her personal style?
Very large cat and small chair! She doesn't claw at the furniture, but because of her tailless disability and large size has to grab hold of something to get up on anything higher than about 12-15 inches.

Did I ever mention @Georgiagranny ..that I lost my first wedding pictures because of a Magazine rack similar to the one in your picture.

back in the mid 80's.. a friend had been looking at my original wedding photos which were all large sized, and kept in an A4 brown envelope.

When they were finished looking at them they put them in the magazine rack without me realising, which was already full of newspapers..

On the day of the refuse collection, I just took the magazine rack and upended into the Bin.. and off it went.. it was a week before i was told by my friend what he'd done with the photos...

I was left with only 2 random ones which were in a Photo album...

That's terrible! I'm so sorry!

My internet service has been down...no internet on computer or phone and no TV, it was out most of the day yesterday, came back on during the night...now that's a big deal with me..🤨
....still no rain.
yes that must be horrible. I have my Internet, Tv/Phone/Mobile phone.. with the same provider, and if anything goes wrong it means losing all of it...

Going home in the cold winter DARK.
Cry me a river. It was 115° here yesterday and promises to be roughly the same today. The weather gurus are saying it will be dropping back to a much more comfortable 85° by Weds. Not wanting to wish my life away, but Weds can't come soon enough for my taste.

DH has to go out for a few hours for a business errand. While he's gone I'm planning to scrub the shower soak the bottom with a bleach solution for half an hour or so. The shower has a bumpy tile floor with a center drain, so soaking it is an almost impossible task. I'll lay down the silicone stopper and cover it with a glass bowl so the stopper doesn't float off when I put in the water and bleach. 🤞

There have been some power outages nearby, so I'm being extra careful to use my appliances during off-peak hours. Started a load in the washer early yesterday morning and let it soak until this morning, when I finished the cycle, then put it in the dryer for 10 minutes to pull out the wrinkles and hung it up.

Started the next load while that was in the dryer (around 5 AM today) and will finish that one early tomorrow morning. With this heat, everything dries very quickly when draped on the drying rack or hung from the pole in my garage (home of my laundry area).
