Got brain MRI results yesterday, and as I predicted was inconclusive as to why I shake sometimes, and sometimes badly. My head shaking right now, tho not my hands. Not Parkinson's. No major strokes. No tumors. BUT. Seems I had a stroke within the last six years since last MRI done. It was small, doc said, and is not the cause of shaking but perhaps explains balance problems. Normal brain for an old lady in terms of wear & tear.

Got rattled & depressed to learn I had a stroke. Makes me feel even more vulnerable than I already do.
A form of Tourettes?

Hot yesterday. Hotter today. Even hotter tomorrow and Sunday. If we aren't being lied to again, Sunday will be our last 90+ degree day until next spring.

Can we please be done with summer? How about daytime temps 75-80 and nighttime temps 50-55?

The zinnias and cosmos that were planted from seed in mid-August are blooming. Lots of flowers are slowing down, proof that the season is about over and that the temps should cooperate.

DS2 would have turned 62 today.

ETA: Yup. We were lied to. The forecast has already changed to 90s on Monday and Tuesday. >le sigh<

Our temps are looking like the 80's all week......so far.
My poor zinnias have about had it. The tropical storm we just had did them in. I think I'll replace them with pansies.

.....just wanted to pop in with a drive-by post to say hello!

So far, it's been a good day, even though my routine is completely off!

First, I put

out (in the semi dark), then had coffee. Took Goob for his walk and fed him. I'm finally eating my breakfast!

I have that "I'm behind" feeling, and I need to catch up! 😅

Left: while everyone is celebrating the arrival of autumn this Sunday, an unusual cool week is ending for us (ocean fog) and summer returns.
Right: the orangey Moon Eclipse

Heidi (on top) is the youngest and smallest, but both boys are treating her like a princess and are letting her get away with murder.

Left: with the arrival of autumn, harvesting begins in our garden (here cherimoya on the tree and jujube in the basket)
Right: leaves are falling in autumn, but this maintenance guy is cleaning up leaves fallen off AT&T's microwave "fake tree," LOL

BTW, the three large Airport, Bridge, and Line fires surrounding us burnt almost 120,000 acres (mostly in the mountains) and about 236 houses. The worst was prevented. https://abc7.com/post/southern-cali...destroyed-bridge-airport-line-fires/15321744/

Yes @Georgiagranny , it is a hard day I'm sure. 😒
I did get out to the zinnias and decided they have a bit more time before I pull them all out. That heavy rain knocked a lot of them over. I left only the ones in top shape and still inside the bed.
Gardening is so much better after retirement. I used to plant stuff in the spring and then just try to keep it alive. Now with the time I am keeping up more.
I have fought fungus, the battle not totally won. I fought a grasshopper infestation buy spraying them with the hose and when they jump up onto the wall or other I cut them in half with the long handled garden shears.
Recently, I fought a caterpillar infestation by picking off thirty of them and squashing. I think it was a mistake to plant the sweet potato. Although the vine was pretty, I think the moths laid their eggs there. The caterpillars ate every leaf off my impatiens.
I don't use sprays other than just a bit after I've got most of it without their use.
And you thought watching paint dry was boring. 😁

I had a dental appt. this morning. When I walked into the office I was surprised to see the dentist himself sitting in the reception office. He took me right in and started with the cleaning. I was also surprised at this since a technician usually does this part. I asked about his staff and he said two weeks ago everyone quit and he's been looking for replacements. It just seemed strange to me all his staff would quit at once.

Well here it is nearly noon and I've accomplished squat...I'm feeling better, this started out with what I thought was TMJ (which I've had before) but the pain is now down in my ear and throat...??..my 6 month checkup is in a few days so I've been putting off seeing Dr about this until then...anyway I can control pain pretty good with Tylenol but its still a drag. I'm going to be forced to go to the grocery store maybe that'll help to get out.....nice to read all of the back post from everyone..cheers.

DH went for the updated Covid shot yesterday afternoon so he's on the disabled list today. Not sick - just achy, sore arm and low energy. Typical post-vaccine stuff.

I had Covid in late August so there's no point in my being vaccinated until late November or beyond. Need to hit the library, but otherwise it'll be a chillaxing day here.

DS2 would have turned 62 today.
62 or no, he would still have been your Baby... 🤗 🤗 may he R.I.P and be enjoying wherever he is....

On that subject you might be interested in this piece in the Mail today Gigi...

We've all heard multiple stories from people who say the died and went to heaven.. we almost all think that it's the effect of drugs, or similar... so you may find be interested to read this Harvard Doctors' story of his ''visit to heaven'' it's an amazing very believable story...

It's 20 minutes before sunset here... it's been a really warm sunny day. 🌞

When I got back from the hospital, I put the laundry in the machine and let that get on with it, while I mowed both back and front Lawns.. which included weeding, and weed spraying.

Then when I was done with the mowing I hung the washing out on the line. This is still alien to me after 30 years of using a dryer.. but it's ok while the hot and sunny weather is still here..and it only took 2 hours to dry..

Took charge of a delivery that arrived about 30 minutes ago, of leggings...and some telescopic insect swatters and a couple of motion sensor lights..

Sitting down now with a cuppa tea and a rest (y)

I feel like laying down after reading that!

Wow. See if you can find something on the local FB or similar sites. It must have been pretty upsetting for them to all leave at once.

@hollydolly When you go to look at the apartment tomorrow, don't forget to take a measuring tape and to sketch a layout of the place. Measure wall space between corner of rooms to doors, mark where the windows are, which direction windows face, etc.

Maybe even take pictures.

Put the measuring tape in your purse now so you don't forget.

You can thank me later.
actually I had remembered you saying about the tape measure so I will put it in my bag right now.. so I don't forget it, good advice..

I’m in the process of flying from South Carolina to Pennsylvania to participate in a Muscular Dystrophy fund raiser my daughter is co-chairing. She was diagnosed with MD at the age of 30 and is now a strong advocate to find a cure. Very proud.
I had a friend who had MD 40 years ago.. and his house had been adapted to use the suck & blow system..to answer the phone, answer the front door.. open and close interior doors. He was paralysed from his feet up to his chest .. at that time he was in his early 50's.

I'm sorry your daughter has it, horrible disease.. Have they improved on the suck & blow system do you know ?

Safe journey Rich...

Today was laundry day. This going downstairs early Friday afternoons just might work out. There was one person down there today. He was right behind me when I went down with my laundry bag. I had put a few pieces in the machine beforehand to "reserve" it. I saw him coming out of his building when I went back down. He wasn't down there when I took the clothes out.

My son brought home a few items from Costco. His timing was perfect. He was coming through the courtyard as I was bringing the clothes upstairs and gave me a hand. I put everything away, which wasn't much...eggplant parmesan, fudge bars, a 3 pack of whipped cream and 2 bundles of TP. As I've mentioned before, everything that goes into our fridge gets wiped down with disinfectant wipes. After that I started drying the clothes and managed to put most of them away (after putting away items from the last time I washed).

@OneEyedDiva My Hovel is so small that there's no choice about putting the laundry away as soon as it's folded. Otherwise I'd have to put hooks in the ceiling to hang up the basket to get it out of the way!

Hot. Hotter. Yesterday was hotter. Today is supposed to be hotter than yesterday. Why? Tomorrow is the first official day of Drop. It's supposed to be starting to cool down a little at a time.

Big day here. This morning I'm gonna make sausage, egg and cheese biscuits. DSIL needs to be at work at 9 this morning and always forages around for something to take along besides a couple of pieces of fruit. Breakfast! Won't he be surprised?

I'm going to get a haircut, then mail a package to DS.

All this activity before noon. Imagine!
