Well, my dresser drawers were a mess as I have a bad habit of just shoving stuff in there when putting laundry away. So, just a bit ago, I pulled my walker up, took a seat and went drawer by drawer pulling stuff out , piling it on my bed and sorting and putting it all away.
I have to weed out some stuff I think. I have a gazillion pairs of those elastic waist shorts (cotton, or poly), I wear them as pajamas, and hanging around the house clothes when I have no big plans. But I DO have a lot of shorts,

@hollydolly Update on the Mac?

My first mistake today was agreeing to go to lunch with DD and DGD. Second was eating more than I'm accustomed to. I'm still uncomfortable.

The plan was that we'd go to lunch, then Sam's Club. By the time we were done with lunch I was already too uncomfortable to go to Sam's so they dropped me off at home and went to Sam's without me :(

The only reason I agreed to lunch was that they have the idea that inviting me to lunch is doing something "nice" for me. No matter how many times I've explained that I really don't enjoy eating out anymore, they just don't get it. In the past month, I've declined their invitations twice with polite thanks. Henceforth, the answer is going to be an unequivocal "no." No is, after all, a complete sentence.

Every now and then I enjoy poking around in Sam's Club. Missing a visit to Sam's was the price I paid for agreeing to go out for lunch

Allllll righty then!

We made it through the storm with all our family members safe and the house intact except for a few roof shingles that came off, so that’s the important thing

But as to the storm itself, Wow is all I can say, just wow

Night before last the wind really picked up around 3am and we were up til it settled down about 5am. I don’t know what category the storm was when it went over us but it was bad. We have no electricity (and Based on the number of trees and power poles down) they are predicting it will take two weeks to get power restored. Our water and cellular came on late this afternoon (though of course we are only using the city water to shower and flush at this point). No wifi yet

Morning revealed trees down all over our neighborhood and today I got out and saw some of the town. MASSIVE clean up needed. Fortunately I did not have any trees come down completely in my yard but in other yards and around the city it’s a different story. Of course, everyone is chipping in and helping each other.

My boys rallied around me and got the limbs up and piled next to the road. Although the trees didn’t come down, my pecan tree lost at least 1/3 of its branches and the tulip polars maybe 1/4 of their branches each.

My sons have also been out and bought more bottled water and non-perishable food. Getting gasoline is a joke; reminds me of the gas crisis in the 70’s.

My Ed said this is the most devastating storm he’s seen, and that’s 96 years, so I guess it’s one for the record. Our town has a long road to clean up and get back to normal but we’re safe and that’s the important thing.

Sams just doesn't have the good stuff they used to have or is that just me?

Thanks for the update and I'm glad you're ok! 🤗
This is going to be a long road for a lot of people. I think we're just beginning to see the devastation. 😔

Son/grandson came over. We, actually they, played in the upstairs arcade while waiting for their bowling alley. They played three games. There was so much darkness with bright flashing colored lights, so much noise, including me yelling Yay!!!!!!! Then we went to McDonald's, came back, son cut cat nails, went food shopping. When they left son forgot all his stuff in freezer. I called him and they were just about to leave their parking spot, came around, double parked, ran up, ran down, although grandson made himself at home again, left. Won't see them again for almost two weeks as they fly to Florida for five days this Wednesday. First plane ride for kid, he's happy about it.

WOW! So glad you all are OK. Where do you live?

Good Morning! Having coffee now and will make about 4 batches of Keto Chow after my neighbors wake up (don't want to run the blender if they are still sleeping). If it is not raining I will take a walk after my daily trip to the dumpster. Temps in the 60s today and I appreciate that. Have a good day everyone!

I honestly don't know since it hasn't had the time to start slapping me around yet as per usual.
Here...let me help ya'. :)

I'm up and coffeed and dressed. The Hovel has been tidied.

@hawkdon C'mon over. I'm cooking sausage right now for biscuits with sausage gravy so DSIL can have breakfast before going to work. There's plenty to share😋

I have a mental picture of @hollydolly staying up all night cursing and casting spells on her computer.

Haven't decided yet what's happening today. The garden wants to be weeded, and it would be easy to do while the ground is wet...

On the way to book club yesterday, I stopped to pick up my friend who can't drive anymore. A huge bunch of big limbs from the giant tree in his front yard had come down from Helene. When I dropped him back off four hours later -- it was all gone and the yard cleaned.

He said he had a good idea who had done it. He's a retired teacher and taught just about everyone and their kids in school. Everywhere we go for lunch the waiters know him and call him, "Mr. Wright," and treat him like royalty. It sometimes brings tears to my eyes.

I think all our good teachers should be revered like that.

@CinnamonSugar, So glad to hear from you! You're safe and not much damage. Sorry for your town.

I'll continue to weed later. It is easier when the ground is wet!
Sourdough proofing in the pan. Homemade yogurt being made in the instant pot.
DH has finished repairing and prepping the bathroom floor. Today he will lay the plywood then the new laminate! Yay!
@hearlady, I didn't realize you even in NC! I am relieved to know you're ok. Enjoy your new bathroom floor.
