I don't get it despite getting pestered by the surgery to have it... simply because everyone I know who has the jab get a version of the Flu...maybe milder but they get it... I don't get the jab and I don't get the flu...
Mrs.L and I are eligible for both Covid and flu jabs, but only have the Covid one. We've never had a reaction before and I hope this one's the same as it's shortly before our next holiday.

Hollydolly, we always called injections 'jags'. Was that the same with you?

With temps getting in the low 40sF now at night (wasn't it just 10 days ago it was in the 80s?), I am preparing to bring my houseplants indoors for the winter. I had to fumble with the Venetian blinds and move some furniture, but it's all set. When the temp gets below 40F at night regularly, in they come. Right now I am covering them with old bed sheets at sundown and removing them about 8 am.

@Paco Dennis When I see stuff like this, I think 'we pay for it.'
They made me drive 40 miles to that place...the crystal palace of modern medicine, because they stopped my prescriptions suddenly. My previous Dr. quit, and left me a 3 month supply. The earliest I could see my new Dr. is Nov. 5th!!! The three months were not enough to keep them coming, so instead of just OKing the meds until Nov. 5th, I had to go all the way in to SEE A DOCTOR!! Why!? They almost always screw something up. AT least I won't go into withdrawls now. As they keep making medicine more and more automated I feel like patients are starting to fade into the matrix along with the rest of the 1's and 0's.

So. I cashed in the Mega Millions ticket, bought another and had a dollar left over, went to Publix with DD and bought some raspberry tea. She shopped for ingredients for a new recipe for chicken something tonight.

About the raspberry tea. It's far too sweet so I cut it to one part tea, three parts water. Yes. It's that sweet.

The dianthus got planted in a pot so I can admire them all winter, the rest of the flowers have been watered, especially the mums because mums want lots of water to keep blooming until frost.

Now I'm watching the 1949 version of Little Women. For the umpteenth time.

Another urban region outdoor city street art/food/music fair scheduled for next weekend October 12 and 13. This time in San Carlos a smaller city of 30k about 45 freeway miles north. Saturday afternoon are Santana and Eagles tribute bands. Sunday has Michael Jackson, Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, and Journey tribute bands.

Also next weekend is the annual San Francisco Fleet Week events and air show watched by about a million people each year that I usually attend but likely will choose to be in San Carlos this year instead.

Awful awful awful. I'm so sorry. And yes, you are helping to pay for it. Give me a good clean clinic with enough staff. That's all we need. Not as you rightly stated, that crystal palace.

yes always did and I still find mysef calling them that after 50 years in England..where they call them Jabs...

Well the clean up continues in our town; most of the city has electricity but it may be weeks for folks in the country.

They’ve brought in the ‘heavy artillery’ to deal with the incredible amount of limbs/logs/trunks that have been cut down. They are piled on the sides of the road in pretty much every street. Double open-topped trailers (each at least 2/3rds the length of a trailer a semi would pull) are being used to clear the mess. It’s not easy maneuvering these behemoths around some of the small streets. I tried to take a pic but I never could get the right angle 😋

Today was such a good day. I went to Caesars and played my slot bonus; got $18.50 back. I certainly got enough exercise. It felt like I walked 2 miles by the time I left the casino and got to the Jitney stop!. I went in on one side, left on the boardwalk side and wound up on the other side of the street.

I was tired and so glad the jitney came only a minute or so after I got to the stop AND had room. 😀. While I was on the jitney I got a call from my BFF saying she was evacuating to Naples right then. I got off at the stop for the restaurant which is near our resort and had lunch with my granddaughter, who was already there waiting for me.

I wanted liver but they don't sell that anymore so I ordered the catfish dinner. Catfish didn't taste right so I sent it back and asked for whiting instead (my granddaughter said hers was good). Sides were potato salad, cabbage and enough cornbread for both of us. Food was so good! I have enough left over for two more meals! When I got back I sat on the balcony and watched the boats go by until it got chilly. Came in and took a nap until 10 then ate dinner and took my meds..

What do you mean, fix a pallet? You don't typically sleep in a bed?

I've gotta say, this is freaking brilliant, HD.
Star my mother used to use the expression "fix a pallet" when she referred to putting sheets or quilts on the floor or couch for someone to sleep on. In my case the pallet will be on the barrel chair that's in the bedroom of this suite. I tried with the bed but it is not working. 😏

I haven't slept in a bed and almost 10 years, other than trying a couple of times when I came to the resort. Two reasons:
~ I'd wake up feeling like someone beat me up, I would be so achy. Strange thing is I have what I call a Tempur-Pedic waterbed. It's a cylinder water bed with a Tempur-Pedic topping and it's quite comfortable actually, but for some unknown reason, not for my body anymore.

~ Around the same time I started feeling achy when waking up from the bed I realized after falling asleep in my recliner that sleeping with my head elevated helped to alleviate the palpitations caused by my atrial fibrillation. Bonus.... no achy feeling!

This works out so well. When I invited my son to move back in with me I knew he could sleep in the master bedroom. Our second bedroom had been converted to a music studio/office years ago.

Today is all about seeing my grandson! My last Wednesday picking him up from school was three weeks ago, three weeks since I've had to deal with AccessARide! Had to cancel two Wednesdays ago due to United Nations General Assembly screwing up traffic and last week they went to Niagra Falls. I am bringing a book with me to distract me; Stephen King, good for the season, I think. The weather will be sunny, but in the sixties. I am looking forward to kids football. I'm in the stands with my friend Taylor Swift while my grandson re-enacts the most recent games. He's way more fun than the real thing!

I am enjoying the cooler temps now. 37 this morning. Later this morning going to be digging some Christmas decorations out of my storage locker. I am giving them to the guys who will be decorating our building. I have a ton that I don't even take out anymore. This year it will be even less. There is a group of people here who get excited about decorating for Christmas. So they may as well have them.

I am praying for all the people in path of Milton. I have lived through a number of hurricanes when I was growing up in FL but nothing like the ones in recent years. Be as safe as you can.

I have something I need to say but can't go into details right now, because I'm scared. I don't want to be accused of being vague, or whatever. That Telehealth conference my doctor requested last week? It did not go well. I haven't told my son as he was on vacation last week and I didn't want to spoil it for him.

My blood work indicated something possibly very dangerous. I can't say more, my mind is absorbing it and I must speak to my son. I'm supposed to make an appointment with a GI specialist (I had stage 3 colon cancer 20 years ago). Currently, I'm freezing up. I'm quietly panicking. I don't want to think about it or even make the appointment.

That's all I can say right now and perhaps I said too much.
Keep your chin up, Pepper, we are all wishing you well. 🤗

Trying to wake my Self up. Coffee. Blueberry muffin. It's not working. It's only 54F so far, and I had to put on a fuzzy robe to drink my coffee on the teeny, tiny patio.

There might or might not be something on today's agenda. As soon as my Self wakes up, it'll let me know.

Florida peeps stay safe! Having never lived anywhere there are hurri/himmi-canes, I have no idea how to do that.

Morning folks!! Got up later than usual, but that is okay, on my
first cuppa while perusing things on this pc....got to have someone check on this desktop as it is waking very slowly in
the mornings...LOL..ah well...bright and sunny here, wish we'd
get just a tad of that rain that the south is going to get, also
would not want the winds that are with the rains....dunno yet
what I'm doing today, so take care all...check back later....;)

Don't think I mentioned that our area had high winds & , rain , hail Sunday evening?
No trees came down near us or any water damage.

So I was surprised to see pictures of the local town with flooded streets.
Some trees were down from the wind.

Tree service bought wood chips & some trees to hubby's wood pile.
Today hubby & helper are turning the trees into firewood.

When hubby doesn't have anything to do it seems he will think on one thing & 'fuss' about it.

I think part of his 'can't sleep problem" is he isn't active like he when he's in the woodpile.

Hope all stay safe with this latest Mess that blowing in.

I don't want it, but if they make me wear a mask at work without getting the flu shot, I might.

Covid, never again. Not after having a stroke in one eye and losing partial sight in it.
