On my early walk at 6:40, temp was 'balmy' 45 went to buy local paper from myself& friend Connie. As I was walking around the building, the sunrise was shades of red&orange, stopped just admired it for a min or so
Today,I'm having lunch with a friend, Jill who lives in the co opt apt building I use to live in. She was thrilled to get the invite, hasn't seen my apt, will give her the tour of the place.
The rest of my day, decide whether I'll have dinner in dining room or in my apt, take afternoon walk before rain comes, read NYT tonight on TV watch comedy'Ghosts' at 8:30,then Matlock

39F here, real-feel is 31F. Sunny and bright with 0 chance of rain.

The landscapers just blew by, cleared the lawns and then ours decks and porches. They scare doggie, who barks and then runs to my side. My birds disappeared!

Have to portion the chicken for the freezer, vac and mop kitchen floor and entry. Oh and laundry, too.

Might go over to Walmart or Ocean State Job Lot for sunflower seeds.

Happy Day, All!

Regarding the Amish crew using our bathroom.
When we had an Amish crew restoring this house,,never gave it any thought about their bathroom habits.

We were living on site in our mobile home,, which we had hooked into septic system.
After I cared for the horses,, checked to see how things were going.

The older Amish man asked didn't you see Urey down at the barn?
No??
He had to go the toilet in the barn.
You didn't see him?

No, I was busy with the horses.

We no long have horses & the barn is still there.

Our downstairs bathroom is beside the door to garage.
They can come into garage to reach that door.
I no problem with them using that bathroom.

Our Dog wants to jump up on all new comers.
He weights about 28 lbs. & can pack a punch.

Don't think we have anything to block the hall which leads to main part of house.
So it will be kennel time for dog.

Drat. Yesterday evening the results of the blood tests from that morning were emailed to me.

My A1c rose slightly from 5.4 to 5.5 which was unpleasant enough to see, but my cholesterol numbers were also up. I need to back off on the sweet snacks and might need a higher dose of statins. Sadness.

Doncha hate it when that bleeping piper insists on being paid?

My afternoon snack will go from cookies or leftover Halloween candy to nuts, fruit, crudites, etc. I'm not looking to lose weight, just want to move those numbers in the right direction.

I feel for you @StarSong
One time, when I was donating blood, the young nurse couldn't find a vein. Along comes another nurse who jabs me .. instant pain & throbbing. I foolishly chose to keep the needle in until the procedure was finished. The result was constant pain, for several months in that arm.

I hope your arm feels better, very soon.
Thanks, Pinky. It's not hurting as much as yesterday. I'm taking that as a good sign.

I've cleared the oofice room including the drawrs in the desk.. and I was just getting a little anxious how I;m going to move the desk and the drawers into another room to allow or the new bed people to assemble the new bed.

ordinarily I'd be able to move things into a second bedroom, but they've got to get into the second bedroom to dismantle the existing bed and remove it , so ..I was getting a little stressed wondering what I'm going to do..when the Phone rang.. and it was the boss of the bed shop.he said the bed can be deliveed next week.. and so i took the opportunity to explain my problem.. and he said not to worry, that they will move everything for me when they get here..*phew*(y)

OMG, people are buying cat and dog seats for the car?!?! Do they make them for goldfish as well?

People are getting seriously demented. It's enough to make one wonder how much longer we have as a species.
hahah...you're nuts, I'm competely convinced... :ROFLMAO:

This is our Pixie the chihuhua.. she's in her comfy fleece lined car seat.... she's too little to be thrown around in a car as it drives along .. and it's safer for her if the car has to stop in an emergency she won't get thrown out of the windscreen

We are getting rain,, can't tell if the wind is still blowing.

Hubby & I got the storm window in place in the front door.
House feels warmer already!

Last time I looked rain/wind isn't forecast for Friday.
Amish said it would take a day to roof the garage.

Last night before we went to bed Hubby told me there is a deer limping through the yard!
Could see if one Antler left on its head.
Made us wonder if had been shot with bow/ arrow or hit by car.

This morning he took the ATV, looking for it didn't find it.

Rain stopped. We didn't get much but enough to water the flowers.

Laundry drying.

It's cold and I want soup.
Ham/Sausage/Bean soup has been simmering here and now cooling... come on down, @Georgiagranny !! =)

Busy day here... book club meeting--didn't like the book/didn't finish it but the discussion was interesting.

Stopped on way to library to ask a local roofer to put me on the list to have my roof situation assessed. When I texted him my address, he said he was already doing a job on my street tomorrow. So he'll come by this afternoon, see what I need (patching, I'm thinking) and hopefully be able to do it tomorrow while he's right on the spot. That would be nice. Then all the storm stuff will be taken care of.

I'm looking forward to watching the movie, "Cabrini" later today. I'll let you know what I thought in the Entertainment section.

Well, 3 o'clock and still no electrician. When you call the company, all you get is a recording. The Spousal Equivalent just left them a message to cancel the appointment (that's assuming that he was ever going to show up in the first place).

Luckily, this wasn't an emergency; just getting new ceiling lights installed in the kitchen on a cathedral ceiling. The S.E. was positive that he could install the hanging lights himself, but I was able to throw a fit and convince him to call a professional. There's no way he could stand on a tall ladder and hold those hanging fixtures up while attaching wires and turning screws/nuts. #1, there's only one tall ladder and #2, if we had two tall ladders, I can assure you I wouldn't be on one of them....LOL.

So, now we start trying to find another electrician to come out. Rinse and repeat.

I'm up. Maggiecat allowed me to sleep "late" again.

Geez. Where is everybody? Nobody posted since my last post at 6:02pm yesterday? Have we all gotten so old that we hit the hay immediately after our early-bird dinners?

Remembering my friend who died. When we were seniors, she had a Christmas party. That was back when we actually talked to others, danced, played games, didn't all get high or drunk, didn't turn off the lights so we could sit in the dark and pair off to play kissy-face. It was a fun party in their rec room. (Nowadays they would be called finished basements; back then they were called rec rooms.) I spent the day before the party making a party dress of silk pongee...a pretty pale green and white plaid.

Imagine a time when a social gathering of people didn't get co-opted by electronic "devices."

So. Remember last week when I said I was thinking about dusting? Still thinking.

Could be that I'll make a cheesecake today that'll get frozen for Christmas. Or maybe I'll wash the kitchen floor.

The list of things that I might do is endless.

Morning folks....temp is 32F here this morning, coolish one might say!~~ will get into low to mid 60's today, no rain...got
woken twice with strange noises in the night, maybe dreams?
Don't know, but it sure breaks up the sleep...I have a PITA now,
that is a real PITA, in my right butt cheek, deep inside, pain like
crazy to walk is difficult now.....dunno how this came about...ah
well always something going on....the Golden Years !!!!! ;):cry::coffee:😍

I have been so angry and depressed since Nov. 5th. that it is starting to affect my health. My blood sugars going wild from very low to very high (319 this morning). I can't get a grip and I need help. Please help me.
Pepper, take a break from thinking about what is causing the
issues you described....try making a gratitude list, yeah I know,
but it will help over time, try making list of what can I do to
fix THIS situation NOW, and if not able to fix it, let it go for now...and pray to whatever for guidance....these things have
worked for me many times over....bless you....

I only got up once to cough and once to appease Izzi.
SO bounced to the office in Friday attire - crimson and black paisley shirt and plain silver corn maze bolo.
Quick dash through the house. A friend will stop by to cut my hair, leave a loaner sewing machine and elaborate about her co.tes personal life. She needs to write a blog!
