@Ken Would you mind doing mine, too? It'll only be about 60 here today but sunny and no wind.

@Trila It's gonna be warm here today and even warmer tomorrow. Not exactly spring but close! 47 days until spring. Yippee. And 38 days until DST.

I'm gonna think of something to do today. Maybe replace the batteries in some of the solar garden lights and do a load of laundry. Hair really needs to be blued again. And DD nominated me to cook a pork loin for dinner tonight.

That's called the "Oh, look! Shiny!" syndrome:ROFLMAO: I suffer from it, too. For instance, I intend to wipe down the kitchen cabinets but spy a dusty place on the counter so move stuff to wipe down the entire counter, but decide to polish the small appliances, and while I'm at it, why not run some vinegar water through the coffeemaker, and oh...that picture frame needs to be dusted, but why don't I just empty out the cabinets and clean the shelves, and...
Yep! I so get that. Speaking of "shiny syndrome", several years ago I was at a diner with my honorary daughter (HD). It was night and Christmas time. We were engaged in nice conversation when I looked out the window and interrupted by saying "Ooohhh....pretty lights!" I sounded like a little girl and HD cracked up. She still teases me and laughs about that to this day. :ROFLMAO:

Good Morning folks@@!!! Here I am in all my glory LOL!!...
Slept okay, but still waking at 4am....guess I just need to accept it...coolish at 37F today, may get near 60 again like it did Wed...
Happy February!!! Think I'll put my game cam out to see if any
groundhogs get to look for their shadows tomorrow....silly....
Actually will spend a bunch of time on the laptop getting my
spreadsheets set up on it, as I have excel on here, it will just
be a new learning exp I guess...
COPD is giving me fits today, dunno why...ah well....make it
a great day no matter what!!! :p:cool:

Up too early,,,,,,potty calls.
Blaming the meds I'm taking , giving me diarrhea.

Came down stairs,, have had breakfast & half cup of coffee.
Very peaceful,, hubby not up, dog still in his kennel.

Not sure what the day holds for me.
Maybe I should write my grand daughter a letter to go with her birthday card .
Afraid I might get morbid & tell her what old age feels like.🙃🥰

@hawkdon The groundhog is going to doom us tomorrow because it's going to be sunny. He'll get scared of his shadow and run back into the comfort of his groundhog dwelling. In the South, our groundhog is named General Beauregard Lee, I guess that's a reference to what's called "the late unpleasantness" down here.

Beautiful sunny day today. ☀️☀️..if chilly @ 49 f....glorious tho'...all windows open and back door...

I'd love to go out, but I think I'll give it another day to make sure I'm well enough.. still feeling a little bit below Par.

This morning my new rug arrived.. ( not from Amazon).. and on unrolling found a big flaw right through half of it...very disappointed..

I called the company customer services in Ireland but they wanted me to leave a message..nope I want to speak to a real person. Instead , I've mailed them and sent the pictures I took.. so hopefully they;ll get this resolved soon...

Jackie, the Bald Eagle at Big Bear Lake at almost 7,000 feet in Southern California, just laid her second egg. The eggs usually hatch after 38 to 39 days. You can watch them on "live camera" at Big Bear Bald Eagle Nest | Friends of Big Bear Valley OR friendsofbigbearvalley.org/eagles

Today we are expecting a major storm, meaning the eagle nest will be covered with snow. There are 2 cameras, (a) the nest and (b) a wide-angle view. This nest has been in active use since the fall of 2013

For us, Big Bear Lake is about a two-hours drive. In summer it's just wonderful up in the mountains, hiking in forests, and having a picnic along the lake. We musty have been near the eagle's nest, but the exact location is being kept a secret to prevent disturbing them.

I just bought an area rug too, @hollydolly, but haven’t unwrapped it yet (wall-to-wall carpeting needs cleaning first). Hope it’s all as it should be.. what a pain to get a new carpet unrolled and then find out you have to repackage it 😑🙄

I know CS... and of course I'd cut the wrapping up.. and put it in the bin.. so if they ask me to return the rug, not only am I going to have a problem wrapping it, it's going to be quite heavy to carry to the post office.. ..however all that said they haven't returned my mail yet...

As discussed, went jack-of-all-trade shopping today. A bit of clothing, bit of groceries and found a floor type rotary fan on special.

Reminiscing, daughter wanted to try two foods from yesteryear...

  1. Fat Albert's sub which was roast beef, pickles, mushrooms, cheese and special blend of sauce and spices. A 12" was $3.50. Checking the website of the current menu, same sub would cost today $15.99. Whoa!
  2. Arbys Mile High Roast Beef Sandwiches. Haven't checked the prices yet.

So, I took morning rolls, buttered, mayo, Dijon and horseradish. Added sliced mushrooms, sliced pickles and onion slices. Grated cheddar and added the roast beef. Heated everything in the microwave.

Thankfully, we have enough to make two more sandwiches for lunch tomorrow. It was a delightful lunch!

Got thermometers today. One especially for our freezer. Then one indoor upstairs and same downstairs. One not in stock yet, outdoor thermometer.

I follow Jackie & Shadow every year! Hope at least one of the eggs is viable this year.

Sir just texted me a picture of the third change in a year to the baking temps and times for cookies. Yanno what? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I gotta calm down. Steaming over having to pay tax on my SS income. It's not bad enough that the feds take taxes out of my bakery paycheck for SS and Medicare? The SS recipient has to pay income tax on SS as well? Geez. Giveth with one hand, taketh away with the other.

@hollydolly They're gonna replace your rug, but do you have to ship the bad one back?

well I don't know Gigi... I got that mail I mentioned... I replied saying I would like the exchange, and then had a Bot reply.. saying they're experiencing a high volume of enquiries regarding deliveries, and they won't reopen 'tll Monday 9am... so I have no clue what's happening...

Todays achievement, so far. Tidied & cleaned up my shop area. Wrote some reply emails. Lunch is next.

We're still in an unseasonable warm spell, after delayed snow this winter, and some real sub-freezing temps.

This afternoon, I'll be involved with tidying, and some cleaning, in our house. We have guests coming for dinner this evening — a couple, about 20 years younger than we are. Keeps things fresh & lively. The man is French Canadian, and his wife is Dutch (and directly from the Netherlands). My DW is making the main meal, and maybe I'll help. Our friends are bringing dessert.

I have rather good news. No return of lung cancer after five years. I thought the news would be good as I took CT scan two weeks ago and just came back from doctor. If something had shown up, I would have been notified, so I felt pretty confident (tho not completely of course) before seeing doc. The five years went fast.
