I've finished my Christmas shopping and have mailed out all of the packages except one which will go out tomorrow. I enjoy buying the gifts and wrapping them, hoping the recipients will like what I got for them. My family and friends live in many different parts of the country so seeing them all in person during the holidays isn't possible. Thankful for Face Time.

The weather here has been dreary and cold and the sky is like a gray dome...not a hint of blue sky to be found. But when the sun does finally poke through everything will brighten up.
I'll let you know when my gift arrives dear.... :sneaky::D

~ In my walk-in closet, I rotated my seasonal clothes and re-organized my smaller purses and slippers. I also got items up off the floor and Swiffered. Now I can actually walk in without stepping on stuff.

~ Used alcohol wipes to sanitize the turbans pictured below. It’s easier than washing, they dry faster and the poofy parts are likely to hold up better. Now I have nine ready to wear (that match practically everything) for when I don’t feel like fiddling with styling my scarves.

~Loaded and ran my dishwasher twice. First, before sunlight which is earlier than I usually start it. From time to time, I'll mentioned loading the dishwasher because it really is a tedious process. It's a countertop and things have to go in a certain way; some things can't go in until others are loaded.

~ Finally tried on the Totes rain poncho I bought months ago to keep in my suitcase. A person would have to be huge for it not to fit.

~ For dinner, I made a single serving of my new favorite…. broccoli and imitation crab meat stir fried in butter. Had it over a portion of the basmati rice that I had frozen. I also made a half a gallon of iced tea using tea bags, not a mix.

~I had to complete the song registration process in my ASCAP writer's account again because of a couple of errors on my part (one due to my sometimes blurry vision). Good thing I hadn’t hit submit yet. Now I'm in the process of registering them in my publisher’s account.

A typical day for me. Up early to exercise, then red light booth after.
Coffee with my wife.
Decorating for a while.
Paint bathroom ceiling.
Power nap
Replace the oven igniter.
Donate blood.
Eat supper. (My first meal today.)
Watch a hockey game.
In bed by 10:30.
1:30AM, can't sleep.
2:00AM, checking in on all of you. 🤷‍♂️
I will take a couple hour nap later and be up by 6AM again, ready to have another busy day.
My goodness! You had a very busy day...accomplished a lot.

Today will not be (((Grandson))) Day, as my DIL asked me to take tomorrow, Thursday, instead. This works great as today is Very rain filled, and tomorrow will be sunny.

Today I will do as little as possible. I will leave my apartment only to throw out the garbage.

Cold today folks.. low 40's f...

Haven't put the central heating on.. but I do have the little halogen heater on low here in the office room

Just had a delivery of some things I bought for DD for Christmas which she doesn't know she's getting. ..mainly some fleece lined leggings for her to wear to work.. or walking the dog...

got all the food that I cooked up yesterday into the barn freezer this morning..along with a dozen cheese scones.. all portioned up....

No plans for today except the usual chores...DD will ring shortly in her lunch hour.. but otherwise I haven't got anything I have to do today

Good morning, boys and girls. It's in the 50s right now and dropping fast. Yesterday's rain is gone, the sky is clearing and there's a cold north wind. Ugh.

We had a good time for DSIL's birthday dinner last night, but the food was too good, meaning I ate too much.

There's nowhere I need to go today and nothing I need to do. So I won't. I'm gonna just lounge around. Maybe gather up stuff that I want to take to DS's place tomorrow when I go there for lunch.

Three icons lit up on my car dashboard on Sunday: Check Engine, Vehicle Stability Control, and 4WD. Ugh! I called the dealership, but the first available appointment was on Christmas Eve at 7:00 am! I was in a panic, so the tech very kindly said that if I brought the car in he would take a quick look and at least let me know if it is safe to drive in the meantime. (It is; whew.) While I was there they had a cancellation and said I could bring it in today, but I had a firm work deadline and couldn't do that, much to my frustration.

I was able to get an appointment for next Tuesday. From what I've read online, repairs could range from a few hundred to over $4,000 (!). If it's the latter, that would wipe out my entire estimated January tax prepayment and decimate my savings.

The car, a Toyota RAV4, is nearly 20 years old, but a new vehicle is out of the question.

So for the next several days I will be grabbing as many work assignments as I can get and try to not develop a bleeding ulcer. 😟
Toyotas are great cars. Mine is 16 years old. I never take a car to a dealership once the warranty expires because they are much more expensive. Find a reputable mechanic in a small shop.

Last night I was texting with my best friend from my childhood. I haven’t been home in 7 years so it’s been a while since I’ve seen her. She told me she has ALS. I couldn’t sleep at all last night.

I’m going to check with my dog sitter and friend and fly home for a visit. Her health has always been good and she takes good care of herself. Getting old really sucks!!!

So, yesterday it was around 65f here in the daytime, and we even had the front door open for a while to let fresh air through the house. This morning, it is 36, feels like 26, with the wind. Brrrr !
I am working on reorganizing the pantry/storage room, and cleared out some kitchen gadgets that i do not use much anymore, so I have more room to put away stuff that we store in there.

Our neighbor is a Hispanic lady with a family, and she seems to have a network of friends and people that she helps out; so we boxed everything up and gave it to her
She can keep what she wants and give away the rest. It is much easier than loading everything up and taking it to the thrift shop down the road, and we know it helps people who can use it.

I am still having my morning coffee, (with eggnog) and then going to get dressed and putter around in the pantry again today . Yesterday, we went to Walmart, and they really did not seem to have any kind of Christmas decorations up, or playing any Christmas music, like they usually do.
There was only one checker working, plus the self-checkouts.
I think that they expect more people to be ordering online and just not doing all of the decorating that they have done for Christmas before. As @dilettante mentioned, everyone seems happy, and wishing people Merry Christmas, so the general attitude of everyone seems happy here.

Good morning. It's cold and windy here, at least by the standards of this area. Dio has lit the woodstove....good day to get things done inside!

I mailed out the last of my Christmas cards yesterday. So today I'm thinking of making my Kahlua Fudge and maybe wrapping the few Christmas gifts that I have for my Mom and (Holly) her cat.

So it looks like this lack of Christmas jolliness by the stores and malls isn't just here then, Yvonne... such a shame. I mean there's probably places that are looking all decorative, but not in the stores or the mall that I've been in this week...

Hello folks!!! It is 38F out there, only into mid 40's today....got
to get nerve up to get into that cold tub to shower, got doc
visit at 1130am today...I want a heaated tub for Christmas!!!
Also need to run by bank for some greenbacks...catch you later gaters!!!! ;):giggle::coffee:
Good luck at the doc's office.

After you've stopped at the bank, don't forget about your neighbor (me!) to the south!!!! 💰

It's been raining all morning and probably most of last night too. It should stop late today.

My excitement for today is my grocery delivery. They already texted me that the frozen cherries I wanted are out of stock. 😞 I didn't want a substitute.

I'm looking forward to a mortadella sandwich for brunch and later; will put the boneless pork ribs in the oven w/ some BBQ sauce I think. Or maybe fresh garlic, rosemary and honey?

Doggie Delight has been doing well. She still limps but is not in pain. She still wants to play and wishes she could jump up on the couch but can't. I'm sad about that.

Good day everyone..... :coffee::coffee::coffee:

Thanks, but I'll stick with the dealership. I've had bad experiences in multiple states with independent mechanics. Plus given the car's age I prefer to stick with real Toyota parts.

I had a shopping list and was putting off actually going to the shops but, today, I decided to brave the wintry weather and spend some money.

Actually, it turned out a nice day :)

I bought some gifts (not for me this time :ROFLMAO:) and enjoyed just browsing around at all the Christmas stuff. The shops are all decorated and some have Christmas music. One shop was giving out mince pies and mulled wine - I am not a fan of mince pies but, the mulled wine was nice ;). Popped into the coffee shop before I came home and it was really nice sitting there, relaxing and watching the world go by.
