When walking the neighborhood I see a lot of people on their phones, including (sadly) people pushing strollers or walking with toddlers. Moreso women than men. Even those who aren't talking tend to be in their own worlds via earbuds.

A while back a GF and I walked "together" - she in Oregon and me in CA - and we'd chat for a while on the phone while walking. That might account for some of what you're seeing with solo walkers, @hollydolly.

But I generally agree with you - most people's minds are elsewhere while walking a neighborhood and phones are a big contributor to that.

Hi folks....late checking in today, oh well....lots of noise last nite
superbowl fanatics shooting off fireworks here, got very loud for a while...my back and hips are very painful today, so not
active at all...don't have any "have to's" today so thats good...
Puppy bowl was fun to watch LOL.....had another mice in the
trap today, lots of them for some reason this year....have a great day folks!!!:giggle::devilish:

I just heard this opinion repeated last night on a podcast.
It's nice to have my experience validated, though I'm sorry others are going through the same misery.

When say one vaccine only, nurses often try to talk me into getting everything at once. I respond firmly but politely that having multiple vaxes in one go resulted in a very bad experience, including two ER trips and my doctor wanting to send me there via ambulance! I tell them I don't care what the CDC or drug companies say, I'm only taking one vaccine today and will return in a few weeks for another.

That ends the conversation.

Just received phone call from AccessARide. They say they are not responsible for me being assaulted by another customer. She said I should contact "my local authorities." I said, "do you mean the police?" and she said "Well, whoever your local authorities might be." I said, "this is the United States. Who else would my 'local authorities' be?" She admitted she did not know, but said she would check.

Did I imagine this conversation? Did it really happen? Sadly, yes.

Feel honored. Most of us don't get transferred to the offices of Klaus Schwab. :ROFLMAO:

~Walked downtown and bought a few items. One was a denim skirt for only $6 from my favorite thrift-consignment shop. It's brand new, manufacturers tag still on it.

~Had a slice of pizza & root beer for lunch.

~Went to Planet Fitness, worked out for 35 minutes. Add that to the walking around that I did (just shy of 2 miles), I exercised for an hour & 40 minutes.

~Had a meeting with my son, ate dinner, watched TV, then took a nap.

Shopping today... groan. It's not that the shops are difficult to reach. There's plenty of free parking and they're usually quiet in the morning. It's just that shopping isn't fun and there's a lot of other things to do. Still, going hungry isn't fun either so I suppose we'd better get up,have brekkies and go. I'll take the campervan this morning. It needs a run to charge up the batteries and stop it getting stiff and creaky like me.

I should clarify what I meant by 'road supervisor'-I misspoke- he was the Town Highway Superintendent-deceased now-we vote on this position and they do a wonderful job, keeping these rural roads cleared of snow and also trimming back the brush that is near the roads. If it snows on a school day they are out there plowing by 6 AM, as the school bus comes at about 7 AM.

This time of year, when we have dry days, and no snow, my road looks white because of the salt and dirt mixture they put down after plowing. Every spring they use what I call "the Dust Buster" -a slow moving vehicle that clears the road edges from the white dust.

It was a culture shock when we move up here from a city- SO different- and the environment is beautiful!

Today I am eating leftovers and getting my recycles ready for pick up. I have some paperwork to do and might tackle a few small projects, that always take longer than I think they will! I have another bag of clothes for the clothing drive in the village,
to drop off as well- and mailing a Sympathy card- we lost a neighbor on Monday. He was born on my road 90 years ago.

We could do with a Road Supervisor here.. if that means they plow the roads etc.. how fabulous. We don't get roads plowed when it snows..it's not a thing in the Uk sadly.. we have to drive on snow and ice. The main roads get gritted the night before any forecasted snow, but only the main arterial roads..

Very wet morning this morning... woken up with a headache, not something that I suffer from normally.. but hopefully it won't linger too much longer

Oh dear Hollydolly, I hope you're not becoming American.:LOL: We Don't get the roads ploughed (sic) here until the snow has melted!
Not becoming American.. just replying to the use of the word from our American friend so as not to confuse her..

Why would you be getting your roads ploughed after the snow has melted.. ? we don't get roads ploughed at all..only fields...
