I had a nice day at the rink yesterday, but I didn't skate. I don't trust my balance when I'm sick, and also, I didn't want to exert myself. The morning party didn't even need me (I only sold 2 cups of coffee), but we were very busy in the afternoon.

Dio needed some kind of part to fix a drippy faucet. And there were no eggs in the house (lazy Girls need to start laying!)......so we went out for breakfast this morning and ran a few quick errands.

When we go home, I took down my 🎄 tree, and got it back out in the barn for storage. Of course, it's never really "gone".....I'll be seeing little pieces of tree, being tracked through the house, for the next few months!!! 😒

That's a all I feel like doing today. Maybe I'll nap.

Woke 5+am. 7amCm. Modest storm by noon peaking this evening. 8+am ate half bowl of shredded wheat with whole milk and lots of granulated sugar. Since will be skiing Tuesday, checked a bunch of web weather stuff since at 6am Tuesday will be driving east 185 miles up to 8k feet. Interested in how much new snow to expect for possible powder skiing that would just make my day much more fun. Will bring 2 pairs of skis. Noon ate some shredded Parmesan cheese. Fixed an old polyester fleece jacket feature with a craft hot glue gun. Watched a bit of tv while at my computer 7 feet away during 1pm lions bucs game first half while looking at more web stuff.

Went outdoors walked and jogged half mile. 60F, light off and on rain showers with me under school walkway overhang without rain landing. Also by the street under some dense old magnolia trees. Now back home at 3:41 pm at my computer again while watching start of Chiefs Bills game that is 7 feet off to the right of my mobile 60 inch tall computer stand with its laptop shelf and external 24 inch monitor.

@Trila I'm so glad for you that you didn't rush into taking down your 🎄.
I am never in a hurry. I usually leave the tree up because it brings so much joy into the house....I love looking at it!

I really wanted to take it down last week, only because I was hoping to clean up around it.

However, it gets stored in the barn, and the weather turned to cr*p. Getting to and from the barn carting storage bins and bags was out of the question.

Then Dio got COVID...and gave it to me. Today was the first day that there was a path to the barn (without ice), and that I felt well enough, to get it done.

My younger wife is still working full-time and, it seems, she is also cooking full-time for me. But honestly, she helps me to stay healthy by cooking lots of vegies for their fiber quality. I am eating some vegies raw, dipped in Balsamic Vinaigrette. She even bakes fiber-enriched bread, and her Salsa is healthier than the commercial variety.

The 4 critical nutrients missing in most American diets. #1. Dietary Fiber.

It's 11am...sunny and dry, after last night's storm, altho' still quite blustery... I have just spent 10 minutes picking up all sorts of debris from my garden which had been flown around. Mainly Garden ornaments etc... plus I have 2 trellises down... I can fix those fairly easily tho' so that's not a huge problem...
It feels incredibly warm in the house compared to the last 2 weeks it's 17 deg c in the house.. and I have got all the windows open.

A neighbour across the road has the landscapers in.. another front lawn is being torn up for the sake of the Mighty Motor.. and is about to be concreted over to make a car port... that means there's now only one house with a front lawn in that road now..sad !

Hollydolly, I believe that concreting over gardens contributes to flooding, but of course, the car must come first.

It's not a bad day here - blue sky and nice sunshine. We've done two batches of washing and I've just finished putting them on the washing line.
There's a moderate breeze, so hopefully they will dry naturally. No real damage done by the storm, just one corner of the polytunnel cover has come loose.

Set out two lots of seed potatoes to 'chit' and will hopefully plant them at the beginning of April.

Morning folks....looks like our far away folks survived the stoirms...yay...me I don't know whats up yet, looks damp on
roads out dunno if it is ice or not, with temp at 30F it may be slick outside...today is carelady day but told her last week if
we had icy streets to stay home....so we will see...on first cuppa.....:p

I agree completely about the flooding issue , I hate to see front gardens and lawns being made into car ports.. altho' I understand it. The road opposite me has just 10 houses in it... and was until 5 years ago.. a little haven of beautifully kept gardens.. one by one the older people have gone, and the houses have been bought by the young , with families, or Buy to let landlords.. and for every house there's at least 2 vehicles, some have more.. and there's now very little space to park on the road... they park bumper to bumper..

It's all a great shame...

I am going to TOPS, the large food market- about 20+ miles away, later , to get a few items, and picking up my Prescription at their Pharmacy.
Probably going to one of the Dollar stores to get some Ice melt, too. If it is warm enough later I will wash my car.

I have a long "to do" list today-but nothing urgent and have leftovers from yesterday's meal-so that saves time.

When I lived in St. Petersburg, FL, the street I lived on had no driveways in front of the houses. There was an alley behind the houses where their driveways and garages were. On the other side of the alley was the driveways and garages for the houses on the street behind mine. I liked it that way but had never seen that before or since.

Today I will do everything I did not do yesterday. Yesterday I overworked myself organizing my kitchen cupboards. So I have very sore shoulders and will limit the reaching today. Sun is shining right now so hoping I can walk outside to the dumpster just to get outside.

Hope you all have a nice day!

not here in this town , but in many, many towns and cities here in the uk they have a similar set up... cars park at the back of the properties in an alleyway often lined with garages which are rented from the local authority

I have just spent time calling my credit card company to make a dispute about a payment. I am very careful using legitimate companies online and paying for their services. I check all the boxes etc... I used my card on a legal .co.uk, website just for a nominal amount, and got the service I paid for... ...that payment appeared on my statement.. but 4 days later so did another payment for 10 times as much...

I have never had this happen to me so I raised the dispute with my CC company... and it's taken 5 days to get resolution. transpires altho' this company is legitimate, it is NOT a uk company as they promote and even with the .co.uk address.. but they are in fact a a legal services company based in the USA..and despite having paid for the one service...as a one off payment, they had signed me up to an expensive subscription without my agreement or knowledge.. so I've just spent time having that cancelled, and having the money returned to my account..by my CC company... so be very careful out there.

TBH I'm super careful about checking things like that so if I can get taken, so can anyone...

A new teacher is offering chair yoga for $3,for seniors. It started last week and I’m going to try it today. Last year I loved the woman that taught it but she couldn’t get enough students to make it worthwhile so only lasted a few months. Then going out to lunch and doing errands.

Glad to hear all my SF friends across the pond weathered the storm without a lot of damage.

Some houses in this area have alley driveways and garages. Unfortunately they can be an invitation to thieves. Our neighborhood has paved sidewalks throughout so nearly all watchful eyes and human activity occurs in front of houses - walkers, joggers, delivery people, landscapers, etc.

Front yards here tend to be lawns, flowers and a few trees. Vegetable gardens nearly always in the back. Since I live on a corner, my backyard is adjacent to two neighbors' side yards. 6' block walls surround our side and back yards (pool safety).

Do two car concrete pads take up most of the front yards of your area's houses, @hollydolly? Since my neighborhood was built in the mid 1950s, all houses were built with two car driveways and garages.

yes we call them Car Ports... here differentiating from Drive... . They're being built as part of many new homes in parts of the country, but these older properties don't have them unless the owner has had them installed like the people across the road today... in which case they've had to make an application to the council to have the kerb dropped...

Of course driveways are a different thing...they are part of the integral footfall of the property...

In the UK a garden means both front and back...it doesn't mean a vegetable garden.. so people grow flowers and shrubs etc..in both areas...

I have neighbours both sides of me.. but separated by 6 feet fencing and High hedges ( mine)... there's also a house over my back fence, but I have a 30 feet high Laurel hedge that runs along the back, so they may as well not be there
