Woke up this morning from a dream that I was in the garden in a Regency-era dress (empire waist), wielding a chain saw and cutting off tree limbs :ROFLMAO:

After that Austen-tacious beginning, I had tea, devotions and did some vacuuming and general cleaning. My attire was extremely In-Elegant, I assure you! haha

Now I've hooked up my new external DVD player and am set to re-enjoy all those lovely DVDs of my fave movies I haven't been able to watch for *ages* So excited.

There will probably be a trip for groceries/household items and I will visit Ed.

I hope y'all have a good day wherever you are (and whatever you are wearing =P)

Good morning all! Wanted to share my happy news with you... my son and DIL had a healthy baby boy on Feb 29. Yes, a Leap Day baby (how cool is that!). Mom and baby are doing well. I'm so jazzed!!!

Wonderful news starsong.... 🎁🎁🎁🧸🚿

Cold... and at 12.30 now.. the rain has just stopped, but the roads are flooded. The sun however is out...temps 43 f... so I've opened up the windows

My estranged husband hated me opening the windows all the time whatever the weather . I don't suffer more than the average person with Claustrophobia.. but I do like to have fresh air into the house all the time.... conversely he would lock every door in the house even when we were at home. It used to drive me nuts. I'd go to go out the back door into the garden, and the door was locked..
I am also big on locking doors all the time, even when I am at home. These days criminals just going around just trying doors. They don't care if you are at home, they will come right in and rob/hurt you. You need to lock at least the front door. Most will not go to the back or thru your fence and garden.

I know I'm not supposed to "covet," but I sure do envy those of you who have things to do, places to go, people to go and do with. It's tiresome to sit around alone on my dead center so much. Guess I should count my blessings that I at least get to go to work every day.

You were very lucky. He could have been the neighbor who gave you sweets and treats, invited you to his house, then sexually assaulted you or emotionally abused you. In those days, no one believed children about those things. There was nothing done about it.

These days are very different. If children claim you touched them in any way, after giving them sweets and treats in your house, they could ruin your reputation and your life.

If that seems really far-fetched, you haven't met my neighbors.
We were wary of strangers, ran in a pack and were pretty sure who we could trust and who we couldn't. Not much chance the plumber would have enticed us into anything.

I wouldn't bring a child I didn't know into my house without their parents or guardians, nor would I give them food without clearing it with their parents.

Over a warm holiday weekend about 15 years ago, DH & I found a toddler wandering in the middle of the street near our house. We brought him onto our front lawn and played with him in plain sight until his frantic parents appeared about 15 minutes later. They were so relieved and grateful that we'd watched over him. Typical story - they were having a party and thought someone was watching him, then realized he'd vanished. (DH & I had decided to give the parents an hour. If they didn't show by then, we'd call the police.)

Thank heavens we happened to be in our front yard and saw him. I haven't thought about that incident in years and just reminded my husband of it.

p.s. I had no problem with strangers or neighbors molesting me. A family member, yes, but strangers or neighbors? Nope.

The weather has gotten to me. I need more sleep even if I don't feel tired. This is a familiar feeling. I'm making sleep my first priority even if I'm just lying there. I don't have insomnia. I've been sleeping but I can feel the deficit of sleep catching up with me. I got a rest earlier but need more.

I did watch day 6 of the online seminar. It was excellent. Felt better after watching.

Don't underestimate going to work. While it might not be a picnic every day it does add structure and meaning to your life and days off have to taste much sweeter, right?

Very little sleep last night, but a lot of us have times like that. So I get up, suck it up, and try to avoid falling back into the trap of a schedule that gradually drifts its way around the clock.
I often struggle to get enough sleep and can commiserate. One of life's many cruel reversals: when we were slaves to an alarm clock or early rising child, our bodies begged us to sleep longer. Now that our mornings are rarely scheduled, many of us are up at the crack of dawn, often earlier, and we beg our bodies to sleep longer.

I used to sleep straight through - now I awaken several times a night for at least several minutes, sometimes longer.
Maddening.

After my coffee which I am having right now I will get a start on my day. First will be walking out to the dumpster. It rained all day yesterday so never got out there. Then I think I will do laundry. Other than that, I don't have a clue so far.
LOL..Kat, I read it that you were gonna be walking IN the dumpster.....had to read it twice...:ROFLMAO:

Yeah, that sleep stuff is aggravating, especially when there's a full moon. On those nights I take benadryl, even tho old people aren't supposed to take it.

@RadishRose wow! You get to go to Aldi? And for pickles? That's more fun than I get to have this afternoon ;)

It's still rainy and foggy. Fooey. Tomorrow's a day off so the sun had better come out as promised.

Woohoo. Just got a text from Sir. Says yes to 4-10am shifts.

It's been a glorious sunny day again...🌼☀️☀️ 48 f... I miss days like this on weekends when the soon to be ex and I would always go visiting a a village or town we'd never visited before.. and then have lunch or dinner at the pub

Instead, today.. I've been changing batteries in remote controls, and phones..

Tidied up the spare room which is where I tend to put things until I'm ready to find a home for them

Got 2 more bags ( very heavy) for donation... and sorted out some clothing to take to the dressmaker for alteration...

Got some Ham Ribs out of the freezer to defrost... they're a Scottish speciality and I haven't had them for years, and now Costco is stocking them, so I'm looking forward to having those in the next day or so...
