My morning walk with the pups. What a glorious day. This is the day God has made for us.

45 years ago, almost every other property had a horse, and some people even went shopping to the supermarket by horse. But now it's becoming rare. My oldest daughter wanted a horse badly. I sent her to the neighbors to learn how to take care of them. Too much work; so, no horse. I bought her a Great Dane as a substitute horse, and she lived happily ever after with "Sir Mordred" (the illegitimate son of King Arthur?) When he died, she had him cremated, kept his ashes in a beautiful Redwood box, and hugged the box in her sleep.

Nature is so amazing beautiful. So, a few more pictures from our morning walk.

When I heard a Mockingbird singing on top of a telephone post, then I sat down surrounded by my pups and listened. The little bird was so happy, and happiness is infectious. I hugged my Boxer pups and gave each of them a kiss (Heidi 3 years & 65 pounds; Otto 5 years & 85 pounds; and Ross 8 years & 95 pounds.)

My almost 20 years younger wife just told me that she will be working one more year, till 71, before retiring; and then she will come with me walking hand-in-hand and admiring God's wondrous creation.

What beautiful scenery you have to look at when you walk! That would inspire me to get out and walk every day.

It was a week of small stressful tasks that added up. Today it was a weed that was growing near my window. It was a small hassle to cut it. I wasn't going to do it, but it's done now.

Spent the rest of the day trying to relax. Thankfully, it was an overcast day so my neighbors were inside for the most part. That made it easier to get some rest.

Wake UP, ya'll... if I have to be up and perky at this hour, we all do. Put on yer dancing shoes! 💃 Okay, now that the foolishness is out of the way 🤭 how is everyone this morning? It's not even 5:30 here yet... with that silly clock change, it would only be 4:30 yesterday, but for some crazy reason, I feel rested.

I just had a butter croissant with my coffee and I see that there's a chance of snow today... but very light, luckily. Totally finished with that kind of weather. Actually it's been raining 🌧️☔ for days, so if it gets cold enough to freeze, there's going to be an ice issue along with the flooding that's already happening.

Hey, @hawkdon , some of your incredible sausage gravy would have been really nice with my 🥐, but my invitation must have gotten lost. 🤷‍♀️

Wet, miserable day here. The internet and mobile network were down much of yesterday, but thy're fine today. I suspect it was caused by the electricity network people doing maintenance. They're replacing a lot of cables etc.

No outside work today, but I'm trying to get my workshop tidied up. I've got a load of wood to be chopped up for kindling. That will keep me busy for a while.

I'm going to cook chicken in cider and apples for dinner. That's another load of calories!

I wish there was a smile emoji for a like. A thumbs up seems so impersonal and a heart feels too personal.
I'm still getting the feel for what people upvote with when they're happy for the person but don't want to love them.
I use the "heart" reaction often when I love a post and what was said in it, or strongly agree with it. If I want to show support, love, or solidarity to a person/poster, I will indicate that with a heart posted within my reply. (i.e. ❤️💕)

they've been like worker ants here all week.. replacing cable.. for FTTP.. men up telegraph poles.. men hauling cable all along the street, men holding ladders so those on the poles don't fall.. men standing around watching to see if the person holding the ladders faints and the person up the pole falls off.... and so on.... ...And..it's raining heavily too..., thank goodness I got the grass cut yesterday...

Happy Mothers Day to all the British mums here... and anyone else who wants to celebrate today

I agree... but we have to work with what we have unfortunately.. so if a post deserves more than a 'like''.. I put a heart... if a post is about something more personal, I give a hug....

Had a young lady park herself with hubby & while her husband & father worked on a truck.
Nice young lady but either my ears are deaf or she doesn't speak clearly.

Took off my wedding ring this morning to see if I could get it off.
Looks like I'll have to get it resized,,knuckles are swollen from arthritis.

Husband talked to our oldest son,, who says he will have no time to spend with us.

I had asked him to be with us when I go in for invasive heart check up, next month.

Someday he will learn fame & fortune make poor bed partners.

I've seen my father lose his job suddenly , ditto for my husband.
Either the company that employs you goes out of business,or its sold to another one.
