I've come by here today, to read some posts, and am glad to catch up a little bit, on how you're all doing.

I am just trying to do the very most important and possibly doable things, that I can manage each day, which I am finding very challenging.
Too many stressors, and too many ailments.
Organized some paperwork, and some of our foods, this morning.

Going back to bed, very soon, this afternoon.
Take care, each one of you.

However, it would be less so if I only used the bathroom sink to fill the basin (but that would take longer). Either way, it's comforting knowing I have another option besides lugging the clothes and laundry supplies outside and up and down those stairs. There are 3 inside the building, 5 to get to the walkway,.then there's these...

Diva, I recall you talking about going out in the middle of the night to do your laundry. That doesn’t look like a very safe area for anyone to be entering in the dark. Glad you have your own system now.

An alternative source for a W/D is to check out ones designed for RVs. In the 70s I had a small washer that attached to the kitchen sink and a dryer that use 110. No need to vent.

We are having a dreary day with thunder and rain on and off. No plans to go out in the mess. Just having a flatbread pizza from Walmart. They are fresh in the refrigerator section but I just like to throw one in the freezer for pizza cravings. I get the pepperoni then add my own fresh veggies to make a supreme.

Plan is to go to the eye glass shop tomorrow. Big dog feeling honery this morning so decided to grab my last pair of glasses. Chewed them up before I caught him. Heard this strange pop, went to see what it was, him cracking out a lens. I don't like things hanging from my neck but I think it is time to put them on
a chain of some sort.

This week and next I am visiting a cat daily. Her owner is on vacation and hired someone to do feed/litter, but wanted someone to just come spend some time with her kitty.

I decided this morning to search on the internet for something easy to volunteer to do at my computer. I found a site that does proofreading of non-copyrighted books that have been read/uploaded using optical scanners. It took well over an hour to do the tutorials and quizzes, then I finally got to do a page (the task size is one page) for real. Then I decided I was mentally exhausted and will wait until tomorrow to do a few more pages.

I also updated my email and info on a site to do website usability tests (usually 20 minute tests to try to do one specific task on a website that is still under development). Many years ago I did those, usually only qualifying for one each week, and they paid $10. There weren't any that I qualified for today.

My pups are such darned lazy bums. If I didn't chase them out in the garden and take them with me on my walks, they may sleep
and sleep and never wake up again. Their dog beds have small blankets that are easier to wash than the beds. However, the pups love to curl them up and use the small blankets as a pillow or whatever. The female is the youngest and smallest but is the best watchdog of them all. On a walk, I cannot have her besides me because she constantly is looking around, bumping into me, and tripping me.

Of course, I don't permit the pups to play inside the house. I learnt my lesson the hard way = chaos and broken furniture. In the garden, they chase each other and play "hide-and-seek" around the shed. But most of all, they follow me: tic tac toe, three in a row.

On today's walk with my three Boxers, we came across a gate with two more Boxers. They were squirming around, and I never got a good picture of all five. Pups love to investigate and play nosy-nose, and they are also socializers for their owners.

My big guy was sniffing flowers, and we also saw some hawks soaring in the sky. On rare occasions, we see Bald Eagles who are nesting on an island in Lake Matthews and in the San Bernardino Mountains Big Bear Bald Eagle Nest | Friends of Big Bear Valley

Another boring gym day. Joke. The work schedule for past couple of years was bad and I lost a lot of strength sitting in a computer chair. It will come back, thankful for that. I might need to shop online for a stick, to protect myself from all the nymphs in yoga pants at the gym.

how will you get your strength back ?..I've noticed since sitting a lot in the home office, I;m losing my strength. I can't lift heavyweights because it causes my lower back to go into spasm. Any tips ?

Crawl before you walk.

You do need to work the muscles to near failure, but you don't have to do it like some people do where they are trying for that last repetition where it's barely possible. You just continue with lighter weights, eventually 5 lbs will feel like too much, so you are done for the day with that muscle group. Then consume extra low carb protein for days, and sleep sleep sleep. There will be some muscle pain, maybe first days but typically 2 days after the workout ... weird. When the body says it's ready, then do it again. Don't go by personal trainer schedules as they only get paid by the hour.

Don't do exercises that hurt. There are always alternate methods to work the same muscles, for example I cannot do bench presses.

There are some personal trainers that are smart, maybe you can find one. Back, torso, and glutes are the most important.

The last two workouts I've been doing "farmers walk" with 2 60lb dumbbells, 120lbs. In about a month or so I should be up to 150lbs.

Thank you so much for your concern Jules❣️ But our community is semi-gated and can only be entered through the buildings with a special key issued to each resident. The rest is fenced in, including the parking lot for which one needs a key fob, assigned by management, to enter. Been going down there in the middle of the night for years and so far, no problems. Plus most of our residents are seniors, who like me, have owned their units for decades.

The laundry room is directly beneath our apartment. I always keep my phone on me in case I fall or feel ill while I'm down there. If my son has gone to work, there's a couple that lives in my building, who are friends that I could call to assist me.

I just read that it is never too late to start building muscle and improving health.
Edit: Oh, I see you're not starting from scratch. 🙂
