I'm jealous of GG,,, cold wind keeps me inside,, can't work in the dirt.

I've suggested we put a net over the blueberries this year.
That is if frost doesn't get the buds.

Will see how much weed whacking I can do this year, along with trying to keep flower beds weed free.

I want the saw dust/ wood chips to go into blueberry arbor to keep weeds down.

@hawkdon Wut wo! Be on your very best behavior!

@Trila Does 🐐man have a guilty conscience? LOL

I did rest. And ate, then went outside to sit on the patio with a glass of tea to admire my handiwork. Asked myself: Self, why not spread just two more bags of mulch? So I did.

Why is hard work so hard?
After all of the bad things that have happened to him, and to me this year, I think today was the first time that we had no Dr appointments, no errands, no nothing....and we both felt well enough to go out. It's about time! I hope this is a continuing trend! 🐐

Rain predicted for today....I've started the mowing here, went from leaves to mowing with no in-between ......we've had a death in our family recently, even though it's been sad with my small family, the death has brought us all closer, I guess that happens, makes us aware of what a short time we have left....anyway I'm going to shop for flowers to plant soon.
Sorry to hear about the death in your family. May they Rest In Peace. It's nice that it brought everyone closer.

Well, if you won't help @Georgiagranny then how about helping me? I'm trimming back 20 years worth of flowering bushes......just need someone to haul off the clippings. Have no idea where you would haul them to, just outta' here! 😉

~Walked to the Amazon hub to pick up a package, then on to the supermarket.

~Gave myself a manicure.

~I did a lot of listening to my songs. It’s time for critical listening, making sure I’m absolutely happy with every detail of the mixes and start considering the order of the songs for my next release. I mentioned previously that I listen on several devices before making the final decisions.

~Still working on catching up with threads here on SF.

~Took an impromptu nap after dinner.

Very calm, boring day. Did Laundry and a few chores. THEN came later in the day. I was heading out to the trash room of my floor. Heard an odd noise from elevator bank...there are two elevators. Then the alarm buzzer.. the panic button. I called 911 as I did not want to call building emergency number and have to wait on a call back, Cops came, and after some time, got the person out. Took em a while it seems.

Drove 60 miles to a favorite oak savanna grassland reserve now gorgeous with spring wildflowers and used the new Sony a6700 camera I bought last August for the first time in the field. It's functionality is ridiculously complex, especially all the customizing. Was good for the soul getting back outdoors in our vibrant green world since I've been otherwise focused on Tahoe snow skiing that just has a few more weeks before I fully move to warm weather activities.

Last summer, set it up some and read parts of its huge PDF guide but had to review much last night. Actually probably captured some pretty good green flowery landscapes today using its focus bracketing function that tomorrow will need to set up exiftool cmd.exe commands and Excel files for and then figure out how to process them. Focus bracketing from a tripod mounted camera, takes several shots quickly at different lens focus points that one can later combine in post processing for vastly more depth of field and especially for large images, much more fine detail across an image frame. And I also frame stitch multiple images. Need to figure all this out now before more important field work soon arises in Southern California at other wildflower more impressive areas.

A modest storm moves in tomorrow lasting through the weekend. Then will likely will get a few more skiing days in. Have quite a facial tan now.

My neighbor woke me with noise from his yard and kept me frustrated all day. He's repairing a structure in his yard he uses to blast music from. It looks like it's going to be a long summer.

I'm trying to decompress by watching some tv while I do some relaxation stuff.

Someone told me about some granola bars that look good called Made Good. They'll be in my next grocery order. Strawberry flavor looks good.

We went through a time last spring of appts. and procedures and it was so nice when it was over to get back to normal!

Is it Friday? Yes! It's Friday! My day to go out and about. DH has been busy in the garden so he's not up for Friday fajitas.
That's ok, he slows me down anyway. 😋
We really need the rain coming to water these beds we've uncovered.
I got more than I planned done yesterday so things are looking good for my Easter deadline. That's great since it seems everyone's coming here. 🐰
Slowly getting things accomplished after retiring. It feels good.

We're not at "normal" just yet, but it was such a nice reminder of what normal can be. Things (hopefully) are winding down for both of us, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

It's good to hear that it's all in the past for you. I hope it continues, and you can enjoy your days! 💕

Today is starting off overcast & 21*

We've had the morning cartoons to chuckle about.

Must be thinking retail therapy this morning... hope to see the jeweler today about my wedding band.
Maybe check out the new 'thrift /antiques store'.

I've been considering a new casual chair for this room.
Most of the office furniture came from hubby's old work place,,metal with durable coverings.

Really would love to toss out his desk,,, make room for mine.;)

I'm feeling worse again this morning....I guess I over did it yesterday.

I've been trimming the flowering bushes (along the driveway) in the evening. They have been there for over 20 years, and have never been trimmed. They used to be shaded by over hanging trees, and it made them grow all wonky.

The winter before last, Dio cut down all of those overhanging trees. Now, it's easy to see how bad the bushes look. So I have been taking my time, and just standing there cutting (only forsythia bushes, for now) at waist/chest high. Snip. Snip. Snip.

Easy, right? I'm not overdoing anything. WRONG!!!! The branches are so twisted and tangled that after I snip, I need to pull and tug to get them away from the bush. That's where the over doing it comes in!

When will I ever learn?!!!

9:20am PDT Friday March 22, 2024 with a busy day ahead of me though don't feel too motivated, still groggy as I poke away on this old Dell XPS-15 Windows 10 laptop, my primary computer I run with a 24" UHD 4k external monitor. Appears I have lost my cheap Casio digital watch I've used a few years. Probably fell out of a pocket. Remove the watch bands and carry watch bodies in my Levi coin pocket as I dislike wearing wrist watches. So found an older dead Casio I never replaced the battery on and with a Youtube video figured out how after removing the 4 tiny case screws, how to pop the battery carrier latch open with a pin.

Searched online and quickly found via Yelp that jewelry watch repair services will usually charge almost as much as they think a new watch would cost. The CR1616 batteries sell on Amazon for $2 for a 5 pack but most local drug stores and markets charge $5+ just for one battery. Need to visit a Walmart Neighborhood Market today about 3 miles away where will look what they charge and as a backup web shows Home Depot a 3 block away walk may just charge $3.59 for one.

After ending this post will spend awhile doing bill paying via USPS mail paperwork, I prefer versus via Internet accounts where I have NO financial stuff.

Then will move ahead figuring out how to set up and process all the a6700 268 image files I captured yesterday that has about a couple dozen files per each image subject. That requires reading a bunch of exiftool technical documentation that would put most people to sleep and creating a new Excel image file structure versus what I have for my now retired old Sony a6000. Those files are now slowing dumping from the SDcard into my old Microsoft Vista HP desktop where I run Photoshop CS6 and other imaging applications no longer supportable on recent OS's. Avoids hated current app versions monthly subscription service fees. A whole world of computer file header technology I'd bet most folks here don't even know exists, much less can use?

ExifTool by Phil Harvey

Also need to build up some cj's that is an hour task. And need to dump a bunch of gear file manuals into my cheap, not much to worry about if lost, $200 Chuwi Windows 11 laptop that I much prefer to use on the road and in the field versus my tiny screen awkward to use moto g smartphone. Last week it was extremely useful in lodging during evenings playing back the GoPro mp4 video files I'd taken skiing earlier during my 4 ski days. But yesterday out on my first photo work this spring, was useless after I'd driven there since had not loaded the a6700 PDF user manual and then noticed that laptop needed quite a bit more files and links added.

But after about 15 minutes spinning around the a6700 MENU sitting in my car, finally found out how to set up one of three customizing buttons for the important Auto Exposure Lock function that allows taking groups of bracketed images using the same exposure setting, absolutely necessary with stitching subjects where a lens moves to different target positions with varying light.

Also still have numbers of the skiing GoPro files to process with a few I'll upload to my Youtube account for public viewing. That will probably need to wait till this weekend.

@Trila Learn? You'll learn when the rest of us learn. Like the 12th of Never maybe?

Got the rest of the mulch spread. Need to get 10 more bags...actually need about 20 more. Oy.

Rain is supposed to start in earnest in about an hour, rain the rest of the day and all night into tomorrow morning. Sigh.

If only you could plant me in front of a computer or TV for a while, maybe I would be able to get to feeling better!
