I have to see if I can figure out a little of the rehab schedule before I drive over there today. This is probably only the second productive day there, so perhaps they haven't gotten a plan together yet. Once again, I will miss the gym, so I exercised early and will add some weight work in later.

Sadly, I did cancel my June trip to Nashville. I'll enjoy the photos my friend sends from there. Maybe I can squeeze in a quick beach weekend at some point.

Finished mulching the new flower beds (there are two) and gave it up for today because it's just too darned hot. The lawn needs to be mowed, but... 🥵 🔥 I couldn't do it when I got home because the dew hadn't evaporated yet. Maybe it'll cool down a little around 7ish.

Done in the garden for today; I'm off tomorrow. Woohoo and stuff.

It IS hot today! Supposed to be near 90 tomorrow!

Just glad veterinarian torture day is behind us for Talia. Just waiting on her lab results.

I really, really, really want to go thrifting today but I hit 3, including PAWS last week and found something at each one. So no way this week. Plus I went to Goodwill yesterday to look at books. Yeah right. Got 2 books and 3 other items. I hadn't been to GW in weeks.

Slow start to the day.
Once I got my self together,,off hubby & I went.

Tractor Supply was our first stop.
Bought 6 bags potting soil & two large bags of birdseed.

Looked at dog harnesses.
Been looking at the harnesses on Facebook.
Hate to buy something that I can't hold & judge how dog reacts to it,,or will it fit?

I should try moving the strawberries out of the yard, this afternoon.
If extended weather forecast is right,, we will have a week of rains.

I decided that waiting for the heat to let up was an exercise in futility and went out and mowed anyway. @hearlady You're right. Tomorrow it's supposed to hit 90. Summer is here! Summer. When the lawn has to be mowed at least every fourth day.

In the morning while it's shady in the part of the yard with the new flower beds, I'm going to dig in the edging. Makes me tired thinking about it.

@CinnamonSugar If you need permission to be a slug in order to take nap, you have mine. Go ahead. Napping won't make you a slug. I have spoken.

@RadishRose Cookbooks are gold! Donate the other books to a retirement or rehab center. Waterford crystal? Yikes! Somebody will want it for sure.

A couple of weeks ago, DD brought me a package of Stouffer's stuffed peppers. There were two in the package. I was hungry at lunchtime and decided I'd nuke them, eat one, save the other until tomorrow. Oh. Em. Gee. The first one was so good that I had to eat the other one, too. Had to. Consider that a half a sandwich is a meal to me. Or a cup of soup. Or one egg. And now I won't need to eat anything again for a week ;).

Those were the best stuffed peppers I ever ate. No kidding. Better than my grandmother ever made, better than any I ever made. The. Best. Ever. If you spy some in your grocery wanderings, get them, but don't think that two mean one for you and one for your DH. One package each.

My project for today.

Cleaning the hummingbird feeder with apple cider vinegar, preparing the nectar (1 part sugar to 4 parts water) and then waiting till they come to drink (the center picture was taken earlier.) While I was waiting, I saw a hawk sitting in our Eucalyptus Tree (but also flying in and out, with chicks screaming for food.) And finally, I observed a lizard climbing up our house wall. I love nature and am fortunate having so much life going on around me.

Not the most efficient start to the day. Allowed myself to sleep to 8:45 and I needed it. I’ve walked twice, had a quick trip to the store for milk, tested out packing my new suitcase to make certain it works, fiddled around with lots of little chores and it’ll soon be time to heat up the leftover Chinese food from yesterday’s outing. Lots of other chores to be done; I’ll make a list.

I'm already a third of the way done with my 3 week trip to NYC. While looking through my photos today I realized that while going on different tours this week (9/11 Memorial, One World Trade Center Observatory, a boat cruise around Manhattan, and a historical themed tour of life in a tenement building in 1869 and in 1902 on the Lower East Side) I happened to have photos of the Brooklyn Bridge from way above looking down, and from the boat looking up, and then from today walking on it.

@HoneyNut If you like to travel, then plan your next visit to Los Angeles/Santa Barbara/Catalina Island/San Diego, etc. Just tell me what you are interested in, and I'll send you a list of what you may want to see. Here are just 5 pictures as a teaser of what SoCal is all about.

The Disney Concert Hall is part of the Los Angeles Performing Arts Center. Orange County has an equally impressive arts center.

Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks are just a few driving hours away, as is Las Vegas and Death Valley. And don't forget Highway 1 along the coast between Cambria and Monterey => one of the most scenic roads in the world. Well, don't let me going .....

Last night, I planned my do nothing day. I downloaded some audiobooks and some videos that would be calming and easy to listen to.

But alas, it wasn't to be. I got up from a bad dream. Then my neighbor was banging around. That's the one selling his house, so maybe they moved out.

Then my internet went down. The first rep. crashed it further. The second rep. sounded like he was a little more versed and got it back up. It took 2 hours on the phone with him to get it sorted out, sort of. Good news was that my wiring is still good. Very little degradation to the signal. But my internet is still pretty fragile which is a bummer.

I'm extending my do nothing day to tomorrow at least.

Why was I wide awake at 3:30 on a day off?

@packleader reminded me that I need to fill the hummingbird feeders today. It's on the list. And dig in the edging for the flower beds. And deadhead some flowers. And water the garden because rain isn't predicted until tomorrow night, if it happens at all, and it's gonna be hot today and tomorrow.

Laundry has already been started so there's that, too.
