It's 6am, it's almost light, I've opened the blinds and I can see it's pouring of rain.

I'm going to try and get some sleep now. I'm wondering given that my neighbour has been up half the night, whether he'll go to work today or not. He works in construction, so maybe not..

Had a day of rest with a 3 1/2 nap. Grateful for that. Still apprehensive about the new neighbor, but I'm trying to calm down about it. I can still hear the back neighbor changing his behavior in response all the time. That's what most of the apprehension is about.

Got my Google Play credit denied. I'll have to reapply for it with my original account. I thought I could use it for another account.

@hollydolly So sorry you're going through so much. That sounds so overwhelming. Glad to hear you're getting through this. You deserve a big treat when this is all done, or maybe before.

I will walk early this morning and try to see if I can bring my car in for service at the dealer this afternoon. There are appointments back to back this morning (all at home) but I think they want me to be here for them (sigh). If I can't get the car done today, perhaps Friday. Otherwise, I can go the expensive mechanic who always finds something other than an oil change when I bring it in to him.
I haven't been up long at all and I need a nap.

The birdies woke me up twice this morning, 1st time at 3:30, 2nd time at 5,dozed for about 1/2 hr
When I went on my early morning walk at 6:15, temp was 73 with a breeze as I went to buy today's NYT
This morning, my friend, Mary&I are going on our weekly 'road trip' to Target, need couple items
This afternoon at 3, I have conference call with my financial advisor&my brother
At 5:30, my real estate agent, Patrick will be showing my apt,I'm crossing my fingers I can sell it
I'm just a bit stressful today, whatever happens I'll deal with it

Afternoon folks... :)

Well the neighbour has gone off to work... by the looks of it. I slept until noon after going to bed at 6am.. but I was coughing half the night, I don't know what was wrong. Thank you Gigi.... @Lady @caramel and @birdy... I'm not really one for a Big pity Party, but the events of this week have caused a schitt show... and this afternoon I still have that horrible exchange thing to go through with the lawyers

The Insurance said to call them when next door has made the repair there and there's no more danger of flooding, and they will raise the job for a decorator.

It's pouring of rain again today...

Got out for an early walk before the heat, humidity, and skeeters got bad. Adjusted both altitude and azimuth positions of several small solar light panels for optimum charging as we get toward Summer and trees have leafed out. Put my r/w/b holiday string on the fade-on/hold/fade-off pattern: some action looks nice but this isn't too gaudy and extends nightly runtime after a cloudy day.

I'd washed the car, but it already looks sad again after being outside a couple days. More pollen, but we also seem to be getting dustfalls from somewhere out west already.

Dust storms shut down highways in central Illinois
A "significant weather alert" is in effect for several Chicago-area counties, bringing extremely hazardous travel conditions ahead of potentially severe weather in the region.

Blowing dust can spark travel issues across many western suburbs, with winds of up to 45 miles per hour presenting problems, especially near fields that were recently plowed.

The alert is currently in effect for McHenry, Kane, DeKalb, LaSalle, Grundy and Kendall counties, with blowing dust causing significant issues downstate.

According to the McLean County Sheriff’s Office, Interstate 55 is closed near McLean, with traffic rerouted at Route 136 and allowed back onto the highway at Shirley Road. Southbound traffic is also being rerouted from Shirley Road and allowed back on the highway at U.S. 51.

Interstate 74 is also closed in both directions near exit 152, according to officials.

Near-zero visibility is being reported in some parts of those interstates, with dust blowing from farm fields and blocking lines of sight on roadways.

Sorry to read about everything piling on you yesterday, @hollydolly. Hope the legal and water issues get sorted out very quickly.

TGS will be here early today - arriving 7:30 AM-ish and will go home late this afternoon. ❤️

We ask for him most Wednesdays - he could go to daycare because they're paid whether he's there or not - but we love spending time with him. Not sure what we'll do... his mood will help us decide the day's activities. 75° for a forecast high so the weather will be in our favor for outdoor fun.

@HoneyNut ...is that a top loader machine ?.. are they still popular in the US?... they've not been popular here for decades, most people prefer a front loader...
Top loaders are still popular here Holly, at least at our house.

To replace our 25+ year old Whirlpool set I purchased mama a new Speed Queen TR7 and DR7 washer and dryer set last Aug....a little pricey but mama is tickled pink and that's all that matters.
Modern front loaders are very popular here, too.

I’m surprised they didn’t sent an inspector out to see what was damaged. Have you taken photos of everything, including the wet towels and everything you used to clean up the mess.

yes you know me, photos of everything.... and I sent them at 4am this morning to my insurance company. That's not to say they won't send out an inspector before the work is done... goodness knows how long that will all take. It could be a week or a month I have no idea..
