The wheel turns round and round
Went bowling with son/grandson. I don't bowl, I do bowl candlepin, and I wish that was available here. However: Now I'm my mother. My son is me. My grandson is him. My mother used to watch her grandson bowl. Now I'm the grandma. Not the parent of the little bowler, that's my son's job now. The six year old is not my son, he's my grandson. Waves of nostalgia. Seeing the endless patterns of life.
The wheel turns round and round

Anyway. Afterwards we played in their arcade and that was so much fun! My son had packed a lunch for us! And we ate it at the bowling alley. Bowled, ate, Arcade.

Came back to my place. Louie & Gidget 🐈 🐈‍⬛ had their nails cut. My son shopped groceries for me while I played with my grandson. Son helped me with stuff around the apartment I couldn't do.

I love them so much. My son is so good to me. I'm so grateful.

The only things I can appreciate from our hot, dry, weather is; haven't had to mow, very little weeding, no water for mosquito breeding. I can't imagine the weeds that will pop out when it does rain! 😯
Sourdough day. French toast for breakfast.
Prep day for shower installation tomorrow. Yay!

Sounds like the best day! 🤗

yes , yesterday I didn't need to mow, the grass is not green it's yellow and crisp.... but I trimmed all the hedges, and altho' I gathered most of them up, it's easier to mow the smaller bits.. so that's why I mowed ... It didn't need it at all..

I had a good time at the rink yesterday. We had several nice parties, plus I was able to skate for about an hour.

Today is my dear, dear friend's 70th birthday. A few people have popped in, but she will be spending most of it alone with her dog. She normally wouldn't have a problem with that, she's very easy going with her family and knows that they are all working today. Unfortunately, she has had an influx of bad news from several different directions, and she could really use some company to distract her and keep her mind off of things. So, after walking Goob, I have spent the rest of my morning texting back and forth, just chatting about little nothing things. We've had a really nice natter, and I've enjoyed it very much.

The morning is almost over, and I need to go outside and wash Goober's bedding, etc, and get a few others things done, before it gets seriously hot (and humid) out there.

If I can, I'll check in with everyone, later.

(thanks again @RadishRose for the great skating image! 💗)

Isn't it funny.. When someone says like Trila just did.. '' a dear friend is celebrating her 70th birthday alone with her dog''.. In my mind it conjures up an old lady...... then I have to stop and think hang on, I'm nearly that age..:D.. so if I'm thinking of old people being 70... can you imagine what the young think ?

We've been enjoying fully comped Sunday brunch at the Palms casino champagne buffet. Today will be no different. Of course gambol afterwards is always what we like to do for entertainment. This is long but gives an idea of the variety.

And yes hundreds line up for brunch. We don't due to our level of play.

Delicious , but I would never wait an hour and a half then pay $33 for the privilege when I can cook it myself

I'd certainly go there if there's no queue..

Bit of a scare this morning,,hubby talking to oldest son this morning.
I hear hubby make sound odd,, turn look at him, " what's wrong?"

Holding his hand on right side,, breathing through his mouth , sweating.
Here," talk to son , I don't feel good."

I take the phone & tell son what is going on.
Get the baby aspirin bottle & shake out 2.

Hand them to hubby, " Chew these, put some under your tongue."

By then he was starting to belch.

After some of them & water with the aspirin,, he started to feel better.

Said he felt good enough to finish loading truck with firewood.

Been reading on another forum about how it's not Gen X or the Boomers who have to go. It's the Silent Generation. Um. That's me. How depressing to think that people just a few years younger than I am, feel like those of us who were/are "silent" need to hurry up a peel off. It's gonna solve all their problems. You know, the ones created by my generation. Geez.

Maybe what they should do is look in the mirror and point the finger at that person.

good thing it wasn't his left side that was giving him pain.....

Thank you for your thoughts about my husband.

I mentioned to his doctor about the heart beat at his last appointment,,,he didn't seem concerned about it.

For a change the weather man was correct .
The temperature did drop from 76 to 62 with chilly breeze ,,night time to be 51.

We picked about 5 quarts of blueberries today!
Hubby gave some to his brother.

Finally feeling totally recoverd from this bout of Covid. And I must say - it's had a psoitive effect on me. I've had a cloud of anxiety hanging over my head since my 2020 near-death experience with it that even professional help couldn't shift. A big cloud of "What if I get it again?" Now I've had it again, and it wasn't that bad. I feel I can finally move on.

So - despite a horrendous soggy weather forecast - I'm grabbing my camera and heading to Rawtenstall and Bury for the East Lancs Railway Summer Diesel Gala. :D
This is all great to hear about! (y):) Thanks for those updates!

I know that beer does. lay a few half full bottles around, They want it and will drown in the bottle. Or, sink a few small bowls of beer around. Same outcome.
@Sliverfox
The slugs also don't like sand...or anything coarse and rough or sharp, that you could make an outline with, to protect an area.
They would likely not crawl/cross over it.
They don't like 'diatomaceous earth' either, but that also harms earthworms, so we try to avoid it!
