Your mention of pictures of Spain reminded me of something. In my teen years, I got involved in the folk-music scene. Meaning I'd go to clubs where even those of us under legal drinking age, could sit at tables and get a coffee, a snack, and listen to local & itinerant singer/players... until 10 or 11pm (then all the underagers would have to depart).

So I was hanging out with a bunch of kids interested in literature, art and philosophy of a wet-behind-the-ears sort. Very soon the Beatles' Sgt Pepper hit the scene (!). But prior to that a couple of the girls had introduced the rest of us to Miles Davis's Sketches of Spain. 🎺 Do you know that album? Very cool.😎
NO..not familiar with that. I looked it up, I was only 5 years old when it was released...

Beach day with family! I don't go in the water anymore, the waves and uneven sandy floor make me dizzy. So, I'll plant my beach chair where the waves hit my feet and I get a good view. Going to be a hot sunny day. Me & Grandson like to build in the sand, then he likes to destroy what we made. Tradition!

As my health challenges grow, my little family surround me with help and love. Every day with them a pleasure.

Suns just coming up here. Beautiful bright red sunrise. We’ve had two weeks of 90 degree weather which keeps us home enjoying the A/C.
Got a grocery delivery yesterday and our cleaning lady was here. Her name is Theresa and she does a beautiful job.
Today, not much going on again. At 9 am I enjoy streaming my church service. Usually takes an hour or longer. We are Episcopalians and have a fairly new minister, Father Tom, who gives humorous but to the point sermons.

Going to eldest son's later on for tea followed by quiz games etc. Had a lovely afternoon with him and eldest granddaughter yesterday. We went to local library to listen to a gentleman called Geoffrey Durham give a talk on "The Great Quaker - A Celebration of George Fox on his 400th Birthday". (Members from the UK may remember Geoffrey as the Great Suprendo, magician, and once married to Victoria Wood). My family are not Quakers but we were interested because Fox lived for a period of time at Swarthmoor Hall, not far from where we live and the hall was used as a Quaker 'base' in the north of England.

Just been in town. I had to pick up some fence pain from the big box hardware store. It's absolutely teeming down with rain... all the roads are flooded and that takes some doing up here on top of the hill... I was hoping to get my oil and water done in the car today before I set off in the early morning hours... so I can only keep fingers crossed the rain stops soon..it's 1.35pm now...

trust me to choose the one week in July where it's Raining..to go away...😝

I stayed up way too late watching The Sopranos, and didn't get up until 6:30. So far I've managed to drink a cup of coffee on the patio, eat breakfast and clean the litterbox. Still in my jammies.

Yesterday evening's rain lasted a little longer than Friday's so it doesn't look like the garden will need water today. Yay for that. The forecast is the same as yesterday's, meaning we might get rain again later this afternoon..

@Trila Your gitalong could be hanging out with my motivation. I'll check if/when I locate my motivation.

ETA: I had this idea about something to do inside where it's cool: I could sort through the clothes I wore to work and toss the shirts that are just plumb worn out. It'll leave some room in the closet. Then I'll give some thought to what to do with all the clothes I never wear. That'll leave more room. Maybe there's a trip to Goodwill in my future. One thing for sure is that I won't need to buy any more clothes even if I live another 10 years.

Can you believe I've just had an email from the accommodation where I'm going to be staying at the coast changing the check in time from 11am... to 4-5pm...

...that means I can't leave here at 5am as I had planned to do to avoid the awful congestion on the motorway,, because I;d have to kick my heels at the destination for about 8 hours....oooh this is sooo annoying.... apart from anything else I had plans for tomorrow afternoon down there... good lord by the time I check in at 5pm, and get everything organised it'll be evening...so annoyed.. what a waste of a day and unduly stressful traffic...:cautious:

Will spread a straw mulch over bare areas between squash mounds in the big garden. I also plan to do a strawberry picking, then irrigate the strawberries & blueberries in that end of the garden... before the days heat goes up to its forecast peak. We've invited three friends to join us for a Mexican-style dinner on the deck this eve, as the heat wanes. Our friends are the sort who will bring a contribution, dessert for instance.

Morning all...the hay meadow has been cut and baled this week, daughter came over and we cleaned the garage, including sorting out several boxes of my mother's things that have been here for years...that was a nostalgia trip, we have hurricane Beryl heading our way, although it will probably only be rain where I live, we need it and the drop in temperature.
