I gave his remote-control monster truck and kid-friendly tool set to a neighbor kid. I'm going to take everything else to EcoThrift.

I'm keeping his Treasure Jar, his bottle cap collection, and this little box I made him. The "Wish Box" has a little cherub on the lid. You lean the cherub back to crack the lid open juuust enough to whisper a wish into the box, and then snap it shut...otherwise, your wish might escape, and it won't come true.

Time to sit in my recliner til the heart and back aches pass.

what to blame it on LOL!!!!! Temp is 70F, humid at 65 or so, hi
temp in the 80's or more poss rain....there you got the forecast LOL.....dunno what I'm up to yet, brain not fully engaged....catch

Had such a beautiful day at the beach with son, dil, grandson. At first, it was cloudy; sun not out in strength till mid afternoon. I built sand cities for my grandson to cause "earthquakes" to destroy them. I was surprised at the earthquakes; usually my sand cities are destroyed by construction toys or monsters. My grandson knows I hate zombies, so he surprised me with earthquakes.

Had bought spongy shoes for the beach. They really helped me walk better on sand and are so comfortable. Must see if I can still buy more of those, they are good around the house shoes and were only 7 bucks.

Today. Zoom call w/NP for psych meds, most importantly Xanax, which they insist must be cut back on.

Must buy ice cream, I'm out of ice cream, OH NO!

Want to go out too. I love summer, I love summer, I can't say it enough.
 
Awake at 5:30 after another night of unbroken sleep. Gotta love it!

We had another sprinkle of rain last night around 9. It didn't last long, but at least rained enough to keep the flowers alive until they get watered this morning. It's gonna be another hot and humid day here. There's a lot that's been neglected in my garden,, partly because when I'd get home from work, I'd be tired and figure I'd do it after a "short rest" that turned out to be a long rest. I'm hoping I can get my Self out there to start on it today.

DD and I are going to the garden center this morning to get a sack of sand. Yup. Sand. Because there are pavers that need to be reset before I trip on one of them and break a hip. Don't need any broken bones.

@hollydolly What did you decide about when to leave?

Another day of trying to stay cool. I have deliveries coming today from Amazon. I have set up my account there to have Mondays as the Amazon delivery day. The post office does not do weekend deliveries very well. Leaves them outside on the stairs or just skips doing it and then sends it on to another place. They forget I can see the tracking information now.

I wonder what prompted me to ask @hollydolly when she decided to leave, considering that she's five hours ahead of us and wouldn't have seen it. Duh!

I've done stuff in the garden. It doesn't look like any watering is needed today. In the unlikely event that we get more rain this afternoon, the water bill won't be harmed. However, lacking more rain, I'll be out there tomorrow morning. Also emptied out a buncha stuff from my outdoor storage bench where various and sundry things used outside are kept.

Waiting on DD to tell me when she's ready to take me to the garden center to get sand for the pavers. Resetting pavers will probably wait until tomorrow because it's already hot and steamy here.

A load of laundry has been started so I'm feeling productive. Sort of.
 
I slept well last night, so I'm feeling better this morning. I'm still groggy, but I do Ifeel like I've caught up on so of the sleep that I didn't get the night before. At least today it seems like my coffee might actually stand a chance at getting me going.

🌪 I guess Hurricane Beryl has made landfall along the Texas coast, and it heading straight for me!

It should get here sometime tomorrow, by then it will be a Tropical Depression. We are expecting torrential down pours, wind, etc.

🏋 With that in mind, we are going to run our errands in town today, and stay home tomorrow.
 
Will be staying in & trying to keep cool today,,71* now heading to the 80s. UGH
We need rain to fill out the berries on our biggest bush.

Quiet here, as hubby is down the street checking stuff we have down at the garage by nephew's.
His helper didn't come this morning.

We bought some peaches at farmers market.
Made peach blue berry pie,,,like that better than all blueberry pie.

Hope everyone expecting bad weather stays a safe.
 
We still have our eighties set of encyclopedias. I pulled one out this morning and a small dust cloud came out with it. 😮
So, I will be pulling books out and thoroughly dusting the books, case, and surrounding area.
I have been lazy because of the heat but I'm trying to find things to accomplish indoors.
 
Various household chores done this AM, veggies prepped, trip to Walmart and library. Trying to be more consistent with doing core-strengthening exercises, like planks (mixed success 🙄 😆 )

Taking Ed to the dermatologist for a f/u appt this afternoon. Right now there are some new library books calling my name 😄📚.
 
We got sand, and I managed to reset five or six pavers before it got just too darned hot to be working outside.

Shifted clean laundry to the dryer and started another load...I was waiting to start it until today's outside work was done so that my grubby jeans could be washed, too.

Yanno...there are so many other things that have gone undone for so long that I don't even know where to start. Maybe a list would help.

Ooo! I started purging the closet of the shirts that got used and abused while I was still working and even purged my underwear drawer of all the stuff that kept getting shoved to the back of the drawer. Amazing how much space was freed up.

The afternoon is going to be spent vegging and indulging in my favorite murder shows.

Good morning and happy Monday, July 8th!

Had a great weekend with TGS staying with us. ❤️ Took him in the pool for the first time this season. Warm weather this week, but not as bad as many are dealing with so I won't complain about expected temps in the 90s this week with a single day over 100° - Weds at 103°.

@hearlady Cake? In celebration of reaching my goal of being unemployed? I didn't make a cake. Maybe I should. I did see a Taste of Home recipe for lemon blueberry bread. I have blueberries but need three tbsp of lemon juice and some lemon zest. Don't wanna go to the store for a lemon and I don't think DD has one.

The biscuits and sausage gravy were delicious. After gorging on all that, they think I'm gonna eat tenderloin for dinner? That's a nope. There are two biscuits and some gravy left over that DD gave me for breakfast tomorrow.

Dark clothes shifted to dryer. That'll take a while. In the meantime, it's back to murder shows.
