Glad you had a nice birthday @hawkdon !

I got up at 5 this morning. I had a cup of coffee then went outside to water. I ended up getting a lot more done before it got too hot. I decided to set my alarm (haven't since retirement) and get up at 5 everyday. If I get that out of the way I'll have more time for projects in the house.
I cleaned my frig top to bottom. Ick, it needed it badly!! I also thoroughly vacuumed the coils underneath. Again, needed it badly!!
I've let things go but no more!

I hope @hollydolly is is having a peaceful time if not what was expected.

Decisions decisions ...

The choice was either get outside and dig up a stump while the ground is soft after the big rain today
OR ... chicken eye and coon finger pocket knives while drinking coffee.

... I had to think about it ...

Examining blade centering. Annoying when pocket knife blades are not centered in the blade well.
This one is okay.

It's Day 2 after Bad Beryl came roaring thru Houston. Was a bugger punch than I thought it would be ...lost lots of trees in my area. Sad.

Lost power at around 6AM Monday morning, during the height of bad winds and heavy rain here .... But those wonderful repair workers restoring power got us up at 1 this afternoon. Love 'em!! ... the heat was brutal last night.

I know that I am lucky, as over 2 million customers still don't have power here.

I've been catching up with the storm path and damage on TV this afternoon, as I was in the dark as it came thru the area yesterday ..... no electric, no phone service, and no TV tower reception either.
I have a backup TV for power outages, but 'no signal' at all. Lost it all with this storm.

And all I can think about is that this was only the B storm on the long Hurricane list.

Thank goodness you got your power back after just one night, Bonee. I figured you'd have lost power along with the other 2 million! I'm happy to know you're ok. So sorry about your trees. No more 'canes for Houston!

@Naturally, they or their friends have quality trucks. Priorities. 😉

Trucks belong to their friends
Four trashy rats over there that are driving age and only one vehicle (out of picture), that the matriarch drives
Those boy's breeders don't even own a vehicle ... and still live in a storage shed behind the matriarch's house
Nothing "shocking" ... "adult" children raising children over there

There are two other stores within five miles of home, a Publix across the street from the store where I worked, and two Walmarts within six miles. No problem getting groceries for sure. I might go into the one where I worked, but I doubt it. Will miss my friends there, but most of them shop at the other stores, at Publix or at Walmart so will probably see them from time to time.

Funny...when I've been in the other two stores that are close, I've seen employees who transferred from this store.
I somehow missed how you severed your ties with your employer. It seems like the right move. Congratulations and good luck.

My alarm went off at five with an ocean sound and a dolphin or two in the background. I was up at 5:30 and did some weeding while the coffee was brewing. Now I'm having a cup. I try to go area by area in the yard.

I would like to clean out my spice cabinet today also. It's overflowing. I'll make a "use up" section unless they're way old. Then they'll have to go. I have some old whole nutmegs that are at least thirty years old. Not for use, for sentimentality. 😉
