Get a big whole house fan and put it in the basement blowing up cool air if y a want to.

Not by this cove shore. However most Sierra Nevada lakes are of glacial origin, so can be quite deep.

Today we went to the bank to open a GIC account to deposit money into our savings.
It took 45 minutes to do but we learned so much. We will get 3 % interest. In another 6 months we will open another GIC with a higher fixed interest rate.

Today we picked some ripe cucumbers to have with our dinner. Three of them are ripe. We have a variety of lettuce thatā€™s ready for picking. Some are romaine and some red oak.
Hereā€™s a picture. It needs weeding soon which Iā€™ll get to.

This year I planted flowers in my pots as well and vegetables. Hereā€™s one with some cucumber.

Then we have our 8 x 16 cedar raised beds that have some other romaine lettuces growing as well as radishes. Weā€™ve only filled 3 sections so far. These raised beds were just assembled last week. We are waiting to get some more lobster and crab compost .

We have a walkout basement and have a fan at the bottom of our stairs in the winter blowing hot air up the stairs. Our big Woodstove heats up the basement and it can get a bit too warm so the fan really helps distribute the heat. We have a heat pump AND baseboard heaters. The baseboard heaters rarely if ever get used.

Not only did my son install 2 new cable boxes, he moved the furniture around in my bedroom--whole new look!--and switched TVs from bedroom to other bedroom. He even dusted & vacuumed the respective areas without being asked! ā¤ļø ā¤ļø ā¤ļø

My son is a strong dude. Yet, he does childcare & laundry. He is a modern MAN, and he is terrific! His dad was very good at laundry too, it must be an inherited trait!

I know how you feel Hawkdon. The days when early morning starts out being 89 degrees here, I know I won't be going out. We're due for another heatwave too. šŸ˜° I did more on vacation than I usually do when I'm home, so I'm tired and like you...not doing a thing today.

what do you mean very good at laundry...gone are the days of beating it on a rock... :ROFLMAO:

I'm sure most men are capable of putting it in the machine...


OTOH...having a bedroom changed around is always great fun... It's like having a whole new space.

I've got a complete empty bedroom... and I can't make up my mind what to do with it. It was my husbands office, it's quite a large room and faces out the back... . I go from deciding whether to put a bed in there and change it to my bedroom.. to thinking about changing my office into there... or have it as my exercise room.. can't make my mind up.. and anyway I might eventually move ...
 
Gosh, I wish I could change or rearrange my bedroom and sitting room. The Hovel is so tiny that the way the furniture is situated now is the only way it can be. If I get up in the night there's no danger that I'd have forgotten that I'd moved something and trip over it and stub a toe. Or break a hip. So there's that;).

I rearrange to my heart's content in the garden.

In the past I've constantly changed the livingroom around... I get so bored with it. Now without help I can no longer move the heavy furniture even with the sliders.. the bigger sofa is incredibly heavy . I do get really tired of it tho'...
 
Groan, morning all peeps....hell of a noisy wet hot nite....storms
started abt 11pm, heavy close lightning and rain beating down,
rain just now leaving my area....but didn't lose any trees this
time to my knowledge...gonna be a sleepy day...71f to start,
into 90's later today....
 
I didn't get up at five this morning. I needed the sleep and everything I wanted to get done outside is done for now. Except to burn a pile of yard waste, weeds and sticks, sticks, etc.
My yard looks great like thirty years ago but better because its mature.
What to do about the deer and squirrels? May need a fence around the vegetable garden. So disheartening to go out to find they've been having dinner out there.
There they go......there used to be three fawns..šŸ˜”
