Almost bedtime for me. We had a short rain a little while ago so maybe I'll have sprouting flower seeds tomorrow morning :)

I've forgotten the things I promised myself I'd do tomorrow. A list would help. Remind me to make a list...or should I make a list to remind myself to make a list...
Don't forget to make a list. It does help and it's satisfying when you have a lot of cross offs. 🙂

AT&T also wanted to drop our landlines, but the California Public Utilities Commission <cpuc.ca.gov> did not permit it. Now AT&T is jacking up the prices, $70 for the landline and $75 for the landline DSL Internet. Included in the price is a display of who is calling to avoid answering junk callers. I heard in Europe telecommunication is less expensive. My daughter has me also on her cell phone plan.

I am going crazy. I don't like drinking out of a can, so I filled up the probiotic Kampuchea in a glass, and that glass evaporated mysteriously. I looked at every possible place where I may have placed it, but nada. I am going bananas.

My pups don't like going outside when it's too hot, so they are playing dead. Now 106F and it may even go up more. The inside “67” is misleading because it’s near the air conditioning outlet (the air actually comes out of the duct at 57 degrees, but I keep the house temperature generally at 77 because of our age.) Even after sunset, it probably will be still too warm to go on our usual evening walk. So, I am using my treadmill while watching TV.

My older daughter wants to go hiking up to the Hollywood sign with friends Hollywood Sign - Wikipedia and https://www.hollywoodsign.org But tracing her progress on my iPhone's "Find Me," she is still on the parking lot after one hour. Funny. Perhaps it dawned on them that it's crazy to hike up a small mountain in 100+ degree weather.

My wife's chicken coop has been invaded by rats, squirrels, birds, and gophers feasting on chicken food. I just caught two squirrels with almonds as bait and will release them in the wild. The secure rat poison trap will show progress only by diminished bait.

Finally, my wife is making delicious refreshment with shaved ice and strawberry syrup.

I'd play dead at 106° too! 😊

Pay Bills day. Read library book for club day. I'll never finish it before Friday, read too slow now. Huge book, The Rose Code, over 600 pages and I'm like 300 left to go. It's good, well written, but I can't seem to read more than one hour a day. To think, in college, read several books a week, but that was a long time ago. Frustrating.

Sunny morning...noon now .. just going to get something to eat after being at the dentist. Didn't get anything done today like I was expecting, that will be done in a future appointment..

Trying to deal with more BS from HIS lawyers... this is just terrible really. His lies trying to get out of paying is beyond anything I thought he was capable of.. just makes me not only angry but really sad. None of it is necessary..

Anyway lets' all hope for a good day today... (y)

Getting ready for a day of work-- should be interesting with 8-12 inches rain predicted. Lots of our patients live down sand/clay roads that just turn into gooey slop when it rains a lot. Imagine driving through Nozema. We'll have to make sure everyone who needs it has backup oxygen tanks too, in case the power goes out.

OMG CS...be verrrrry careful

Today would be a good day for a pair of Wellies to magically appear at the door, haha

@CinnamonSugar Mine are the 5th from the left. Wanna borrow them?

The storm made landfall and is called a hurricane now. Why not a himmicane? I saw an interview with the mayor of Savannah saying they're expecting rain anywhere from 10-20", possibly 30". Now it's supposed to be past Savannah by Friday but leaving devastation behind. Don't go!

I'm up "late" again but couldn't resist touring the new garden area (in my jammies) where I planted seeds on Saturday. Yup. Most of them have already sprouted.

@hearlady I forgot to make a list and don't remember what today's plan was🤔. The bed of iris in front of the house needs to be cut back so I might do that. I was waiting for the foliage to start turning brown first. When they're cut too soon, they don't get the nutrients from the leaves that they need to bloom the next spring. It's a big bed. Big. However, I have my handy-dandy SunJoe clippers to make short work of it.

@hollydolly He would be well-served to remember that "what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive."

Okay. Enough monkey business. I have stuff to do before it gets too hot. Y'all behave until I come back inside.

For the past 3 weeks I’ve been spending 2 days a week at my friend’s apartment helping her downsize. Physically she’s in bad shape so she decides what goes and I pack it up and take it to the thrift store. Luckily her apartment is only about 800 sq ft but unluckily she has a ton of stuff. I’m guessing it will take another month to finish it.

@Teacher Terry,, you are a good friend helping her.
Thanks 😊. I have helped many people downsize but most had bigger houses. However, I just turned 70 and I can really tell the difference. I come home by 5, shower and go to bed at 8 on these days. I’m glad I moved 3 years ago because it involved working 10-12 hours a day for a month to get rid of my ex’s junk. I couldn’t do that now.

Bit of excitement as Mac tried to catch a critter that was caught in a rat trap.
When hubby went to move the work bench it was hiding under he some how released the trap.
Away went the critter before Mac saw it.

Hubby has gone off to try his new battery powered saw.
Hope he's careful as it's rocky where he was going.

Cloudy start today..may rain later.

Stay safe those in fire areas or Debby's path. 🥰

I actually love doing stuff like that as long as it's not garbagey. Often thought I should have made that a career.

You guys are all so busy. I boiled a couple of eggs.
The tree guys are here. I'm trying not to watch. They are trimming 5 huge trees with their system of criss-crossed ropes and logs swinging through the air.
I love watching them do that.I used to love to watch the guys chopping the Palm Trees on my property in Spain... and here my road is tree lined with the biggest tree of all outside of my property so they come and trim that every few years and swing through the branches like monkeys

now you've got me worried.. Terry....I turn 70 in about 6 months time... Yikes!!

SunJoe ran out of battery power at the same it got too hot to work. There's sun on that part of the front yard in the morning. There's nothing else to do except weed, and I don't wanna.

DD and DGD wanted me to "visit" so I went over there for a bit, but they're altogether too chatty so early in the day.

I knew this day would come. It's why I need a job. Maybe I'll read recipes or play Solitaire or something.

@hollydolly Not to worry! Remember that I was cleaning houses at 70 and beyond.

I have just been out in the garden painting the second chair. I thought I'd take advantage of it still being hot and dry, so the paint can dry quickly and I can get further coats on it.. however it's so humid, that I only managed to get one complete coat on the chair in an hour and a half... before I had to come in from pain in my back and sweat running into my eyes.. Yuck!

I'm now gonna go downstairs and assemble a flat pack little cabinet that I bought to house my tech things in my office room when they're being charged etc...Currently they all sit on a folded stool under the office window.. so hopefully this little cabinet will help make them look a little tidier..
