We went to Kirkland's. According to Professor Google, waffling is the failure to make up one's mind. I freaking ❤️ that chair and really like the upholstery fabric.

The one on Wayfair looks like it's the same chair, but even expanding the picture doesn't let me see the fabric or texture. There's a huge difference in the price.

If I get it from Kirkland's, it has to be shipped to the store but free shipping and an extra 20% discount.

Sigh. 🧇🧇🧇 Maybe I just shouldn't get the darned thing and keep my $$ instead. It's not like it's needed.

We went to B&N, too. DGD insisted that I get books because she had lots of loyalty points and would get more in addition to some extra discounts and a free tote bag. Okay. I got two Janet Evanovich books (the heroine is Stephanie Plum) and a novel based on a true story about Edith Wharton (The Gilded Age).

there's a lot of debate about Wants and Needs... what they forget is the comfort feel good factor. if something makes you or your surroundings feel good.. then it's meant to be for you... I wanna see a photo.. (y)

@hollydolly Hope this works. Original price from a few months ago was $599, then settled at $499. Sale price is $239 but with discounts got it down to $192.

Same chair is available from Wayfair for about $80 less, but of course, they're fresh out of the color I want! Grrrr.

ETA: The $192 price is only if I order online, and it wouldn't be here until Sept. 20. I'm wondering if I could haggle it down to that price if I asked in the store to buy the display chair.

nothing is showing on the link, Gigi

Cruddy visceral feeling inside this Monday holiday morning. Too much food... binging last couple weeks. Sat/Sun was at a local street fair with live classic rock cover music that much enjoyed. Now have a full work week to quietly normalize at home before next weekend's huge 2 day Mountain View Art/Food/Music festival.

I hope Mrs.Horseless Carriage is keeping well after her procedure. Make up removal reminds me of my time in IBM when a Disk manufacture took place in ultra-clean 'clean rooms'. The female staff had to remove all traces of make up before putting on white overalls and masks. At lunch time it was not unusual to see them re-apply their cosmetics before having to remove them less than an hour later.
It's curious that all Make up be removed. My lady did point out, what would happen if a lady in full make up, brought into hospital by emergency ambulance and in dire need of immediate medical attention?
you're right about Vintage vehicle shows. There's been 3 here in the last week.... I couldn't go for various reasons tho' I wanted to...
We pick and choose classic car shows with care. We like the one coming up, it has music, dancing, vendors and for us, it's local. No need to rough it overnight. It also raises a considerable sum of money for The Swanage Heritage Railway. We like to support that too, so it will be lunch on a steam hauled train.
Forgive me if it sounds snobbish, each to their own as the saying goes, but some classic car events are cars, cars and more cars. You get train spotters doing much the same when a heritage railway puts on some sort of "special."
My preference is for a mix, but as I said, each to their own.

It's nice. What color? The one pictured?

I did it. Ordered the chair. They did have the color I wanted...I'd put it in my cart for that color yesterday so must have reserved one in that color. It'll be here Thursday.

Saved a bucket of $$. Told Kirklands they need to be more flexible. They lost a sale. I saved $$ and will get it two weeks sooner than if I'd paid more and ordered from Kirklands. Me: 1; Kirklands: 0. I win!

I always celebrate that when it happens....
